THANK YOU THAT'S WHAT I KEEP FKN SAYING
so tired of people calling him a good dad like wtf r u on about.
Ga yeong hating gi hun is valid he wasn’t a good dad to being with and there is a 1 yr gap from when gi hun wins the games to when he is boarding then there is another 3 yr gap from s1 and 2 meaning he hasn’t seen her in 4 yrs the last time she saw him 4 years ago she saw gi hun punch her step father so yeah she is rightfully pissed but y’all aren’t ready for that conversation yet

tbh most of the time sangwoo made a whole lotta sense, gihun just had a wierd virtue signalling kink and plot-armor
THE catalyst for gihun calling sangwoo a psychopath being the glass bridge game is hilarious actually bc they were genuinely gonna die if sangwoo didn't push the glass maker 😭 they barely made it as is and saebyeok got injured bc of that

seems to me like they wanted Gihun to not be the bad guy when he killed him. if he had ptsd gihun might actually have to empathize and then he couldnt justify murdering him.
most of the people Gihun killed had some sorta bad turn/evil transformation that made what Gihun did seem justified. (pay attention on your next rewatch, it's kind of interesting actually)
like, think back to 333. didn't his mental breakdown seem a little bit.. convenient? Even the way he actually dies. Gihun doesnt actively do it, it kinda just happens.
because we cant have a morally ambivalent gihun.
Am I dramatic in saying that this is single-handly the worst writing decision in the whole show?
I'm sorry but doesn't it feel a little in poor taste when the actor talks about his real life friends who have served and how he used them for inspiration for the character and the character is just...a fucking liar? Like what do you mean Dae-ho grew his hair out after the marines? He never went! What fucking information did they give Kang Ha-neul to make him say that???
Kang Ha-neul acted his fucking ass off but oh my God...who the fuck thought it'd be a good idea to write a character that could easily be mistaken for a PTSD survivor and do this? Like wow. You really set everything back by a couple decades huh.
Like, you truly had the building blocks of good commentary here on how people with PTSD can be affected by capitalism and the stigma around it.
I'm honestly flabbergasted. how you do even turn Dae-ho into an antagonist that's actually crazy??? Listen I'll keep watching but, the shows kinda tainted for me? Kills off two of the best characters and turns Gi-hun into THAT and expects me to still give a fuck. Crazy actually.
I can see why Kang Ha-neul did zero promotion for season 3 and also even admitted he forgets he even filmed it the way they disserviced him.
Dae-ho you deserved better. Gi-hun, I'm sorry for how they destroyed your entire character. Season 1 and season 2 Gi-hun would not have done that.
And listen, I knew Dae-ho was going to die that was very fucking obvious but this is such a pathetic way to write his character.

It’s so awesome how Gi-hun and In-ho ran away to raise the baby together after Jun-ho and his boyfriend blew up the island. I love how that’s definitely how Squid Game ended and that it’s canon that In-ho and Gi-hun got married and went to LA together to introduce Ga-yeong to her new baby sister. And that everyone lived happily ever after. Canonically. Because that’s what happened. In the show.

i dont know man. did he try?
in the end he could've gone to the US with all his money and made up for any past neglect by finally spending quality time with her and giving her a proper birthday for once.
you can argue that he had no choice, that his choice to go back into the games was heroic, and i won't necessarily disagree with you.
But in a way, he chose yet another gamble over his daughter.
forever and ever grieving that gi-hun and ga-yeong never got to speak or even reunite. his belief that he never was a good father stings my heart because he tried. it wasn't without its imperfections of course and that's understandable but he loved her so much and i mourn the reunion we could have had and lost.

SQUID GAMES SEASON 3.....
what's your opinion on it?
I cried fr, it's been a long time since I cried over a show, it was so emotional... it was so good but I think the ending could have ended differently, what do you think?
SPOILER
I think frontman should have keep the child, it would have made more sense instead of the detective, his brother
Also, I would love to see more of Seong Gayeong (Seong Gihun daughter) reaction

only mistake inho made was to not adopt that baby. he never had his own child. shoulda left it all behind and raised her. inho and gihuns adopted lovechild type energy <3
or alternatively. shoulda raised her to become the next frontman. that would be so heartbreaking and terrifying and NUTS
