Hey look. That’s me!
That’s so cool.
I won’t elaborate much, because if you do see this, I think it would be more in line with my point if you draw your own interpretations of what this piece is saying, BUT I will say that self portraits are very curious to me as an artist without what you could really call a sona.
I will also say that I really like The Arnolfini Portrait by Jan Van Eyck, because he’s drawn himself in there too. Just in the reflection of a prop in the background. (Also his works are so detailed it’s mind boggling, just look at the fruit on the windowsill or the velvet pillow in that same painting and remember that’s an OIL PAINTING. He’s also credited with messing around with the composition of his own paints to get different effects, like, what a guy, please go look him up)

THE PRESS
In all his glory, here to bring you the most reliable, up to date news anywhere, ever!
What is he? Well, he’s an avid journalist. The only one of many in the entire universe! Why? Well, there are many journalists, but at the end of the day they’re all just copies of him.
He’s not a part of the worldbuild I’ve been talking about on here recently…well, sort of. He’s technically a part of every worldbuild I’ve made. So what does that imply? Ponder it.

Got an insatiable urge to draw thing in the dead of night and you know what they say about insatiable urges.
No disobeying them.
Hollow Knight is such a cool game. I was playing the other day, started a new run because it had been a while and I’d forgotten all the mechanics basically, and I came across the beast den again.
I’ve never actually completed the journal he gives you, but I got curious at some point after stumbling across a clip of what happens, so I sort of spoiled it for myself. Anyhow, I digress, my point was this guy scared me so bad the first time I came across him. I was low, pretty sure, and I’d stumbled into the cave that led to the Beast den in hopes there’d be a bench, and then I heard a roar, the screen shook and I was definitely panicked. I had thought I’d triggered a mini boss accidentally and I was surely dead where I stood, but then, nothing happened and I could talk to the very scary six eyed creature in the cave.
The cave lined with teeth. And teeth everywhere. If it was a fight I’d have been a goner for sure, I’m very painfully average at PVP, even now, after playing through the most basic ending. Once. (Watcher Knights are so evil to fight oh my godddd)
I really enjoyed drawing this thing. No references past a screen cap, and it turned out cool, so I’m very proud. I had to take the liberty to make the den about 5 times the size it was in the game to show how terrified I felt the first time around. Plus, dramatic flair. Who doesn’t love dramatic flair?

Don’t trust everything the news tells you!
This is my oc, The Press, and he strives to collect the universe’s most unbiased facts! You know there’s a problem when he’s got an opinion…
I haven’t made the ref yet, I should. And then also post that.

When they announced a live action how to train your dragon, I was…a little disappointed with the dragons lol
I mean, the designs were fine, but I definitely found a couple of them a bit janky (cough Meatlug cough) and it felt like a lot of the personality was removed from them. I wish they’d kept the big eyes that the dragons had on all of them, especially for Monstrous Nightmares.
I did really think it interesting that they didn’t make terrible terrors geckos or salamanders. I was really expecting geckos, since that’s what they sort of reminded me of in the first place, and I figured that was a bit of a common perspective. The chameleon definitely fits the rounder face, and it would be cool if they made it so the little guy could change colors (if not outright camouflage), but I think the eyes make it lose the sort of mischievous look the animated version had. I tried to retain that personality a bit more as I drew this because that’s sort of what the terrible terrors were known for. Being a bit cute and rascally on their own but being formidable enemies in large packs, a bit like flying, fire-breathing rats.
This isn’t a design critique, just more of a different interpretation of a more realistic terrible terror.
(Haven’t watched the film yet, by the way, I plan to in the near future)

I’ve seen these goobers thrice already, this is the FORTH time they’ve somehow managed to exist near me online, and at some point it has to be a sin not to draw them.
Like, c’mon. C’monnnn. It was commanded by the divine internet gods and my impulsive brain.
