Kabras Sugar RFC triumphs over Kenya Harlequin in thrilling Christie 7s final

Nairobi, Kenya – In an electrifying conclusion to the Christie 7s, Kabras Sugar RFC edged out hosts Kenya Harlequin 17-12 in a nail-biting final at the RFUEA Grounds on Sunday evening. The Sugar Millers showcased their prowess early on, scoring their first try within the initial minute of play and extending their lead with another try just before halftime.

Kenya Harlequin's Amon Wamalwa ignited hope for the hosts with a stunning run from the center, securing their first try. However, Kabras' William Muhanji dashed the Quins' comeback dreams with a powerful run through the defense, cementing Kabras' lead. Despite a valiant effort from Kenya Harlequin, Kabras Sugar RFC held their ground, marking a victorious start to their SportPesa National Sevens campaign.

Defending Champions KCB Rugby: In a surprising turn, KCB Rugby, the defending champions of the SportPesa National 7s Circuit, settled for fifth place after defeating 2022 champions Menengai Oilers 27-12. KCB had been earlier eliminated from the main cup contention by Kabras Sugar.
