My name is Mauricio and I like Stuff. "Life should not be a journey to the grave with the intention of arriving safely in a pretty and well preserved body, but rather to skid in broadside in a cloud of smoke, thoroughly used up, totally worn out, and loudly proclaiming 'Wow! What a Ride!'" - Hunter S. Thompson

2024 gave me as much as it challenged me. Going into 2025 I need to unlearn, relearn and learn new. Very importantly, I need to balance myself. It's a marathon, not a sprint.
For now, the motto continues...
Life should not be a journey to the grave with the intention of arriving safely in a pretty and well preserved body, but rather to skid in broadside in a cloud of smoke, thoroughly used up, totally worn out, and loudly proclaiming "Wow! What a ride!"

This is helpful. I mean it. Posts like yours resonate with a lot of us. A lot of us are feeling the same, and seeing posts like this helps in not feeling alone. Thank you for normalizing these conversations.
You're doing your best ❤️
Below is a quote from Princess Mononoke, you've reminded me of 🙂
Tumblr media
Do you remember that Supernatural episode in season 4 with the teddy bear that came to life? Remember how he was just watching the TV and like "it is a terrible world. Why am I here?"
And Audrey (the little girl in the episode) told him he was here "for tea parties."
(we won't talk about how things ended badly for the teddy. 🥲)
Yeah anyway. I woke up Wednesday absolutely crushed. Woke up today like tf am I still doing here? The world is so fucked up.
But like- when I'm feeling "ouch-in-the-head-sad" I also have an inner voice trying to help me find something to keep going. Sometimes that inner voice is silent, but my besties step in.. so I mean I don't really want to be here. But today I was here because I needed to build a shelf for my shoes. And donate plasma 😭
This rambling was supposed to be more helpful, but it feels kinda bleh and just rambling now. My point is that basically.. the world is a shit place and it's okay to feel that way and be upset and angry and feel what you're feeling and if you're like me and you also just really would like to die right now.. this is your reminder to please stay alive. 😭 We will find a way to get through this together. Whatever happens we'll figure it out together. Stay alive.

"Last night, we visited Tesla’s European HQ in Amsterdam to tell the story of how one of the world’s richest people bought the ‘digital town square’, then used it to peddle disinformation and help push Donald Trump to victory.
There are many reasons why Trump won the US election. But the use of vast oligarchic wealth, like Elon Musk’s, to change our media environment is a key part of the story. Trump’s victory could add 4bn tonnes of CO2 to US emissions by 2030. Despite owning an electric car company, Musk is now a dangerous impediment to climate action." -Led By Donkeys; 2024
Led By Donkeys is art, activism and accountability. The work is funded by the public, no big donors.
The group's name comes from the phrase "lions led by donkeys", referring to British soldiers in the First World War, who were led to their deaths by leaders deemed incompetent and indifferent.
