Keep tracking the tag SPNT MOD POST for further information, but consider this our official re-opening! I miss you guys and the RP too much to make us wait any longer. I know there's still a lot of work to be done on the new site, and I haven't even gotten all your bios up (sorry about that - they should all be going up today I hope) but I'd love to see some real activity on the dash anyway. New Main Blog is under construction!

That might be a problem for some, however I literally have 4 accounts open right now; it wouldn't be difficult to add a 5th. It would still be checked on a very regular basis. Plus, with the weird notification thing Tumblr has going on, I have to actually go to the Main blog to see if anyone replied to something anyway.

Progress

Fear not, lovelies - progress is being made. I've updated the bios we have and will soon be adding  a few more and posting the plot. (I have a little of it written, but I'm hoping for inspiration to strike soon so I can finish the rest. 

I did have a thought that I'd like your feedback on...Currently this is a sideblog, which occasionally makes things complicated, admin wise. I'm seriously considering making a new blog, just starting from scratch and re-posting everything there. Benefits: A little free promotion when I re-post all the bios, a bit more control, admin wise, and a (hopefully) less confusing URL. Downfalls: could be a little confusing for a while while things get switched over, and everyone who has a link to the masterlist would probably want to change that.

Species: Nephilim

Nephilim are the children of angels and humans and fall in the lower ranks of angelic hierarchy. They find themselves relatively obedient to angels so long as they don’t conflict with previous instruction or somehow go against their angelic parent in some way. They were all killed by Gabriel long ago after their bloodthirsty natures almost succeeded in decimating the human population. Due to the mixing of the angel and human population now, the return of the race is entirely possible.

The only nephilim in existance at the moment is Adam Milligan, who was not born a nephilim but formed after his soul was altered by Michael’s Grace inside the Cage.

According to lore, they were considered giants (i.e. Goliath), are the basis for many of the old hero legends, and were born when the sons of God (specifically, the Grigori, the angels that were assigned to watch over humans) found the daughters of man enticing. Quite a few angels had children on earth that were killed in the massacre. They are quite big when compared to humans but can alter the appearance of their size accordingly to accommodate.

Their abilities will manifest and mimic the abilities of their angelic parent. They know Enochian instinctively and can communicate telepathically with their parent, as well as anyone they form a strong relationship with. They have wings (again, grandeur depending on their parent) but will only have one set of wings, as opposed to the many that angels have, and can fly. They also have Grace and can manipulate it as angels but they do not have the special abilities angels have nor can they channel souls or time travel. Nephilim are also very good with animals, able to speak to them and understand them and also have a degree of control over them if they speak in Enochian to them. Nephilim have the trouble of balancing their very powerful angelic side with their human side and, as has happened in the past, if they neglect their humanity then there is the chance that they will become enraged and bloodthirsty. This is a constant threat to their person, especially if they are severely emotionally agitated or compromised.

Strengths:

Accelerated healing (both for themselves and others, if they are willing to manipulate their grace)

Increased physical strength

Extended lifespan

Weaknesses:

Short temper

Vulnerable to an angel blade

Enochian sigils

Species: Angels

The Warriors of God that make up the Host of Heaven, created after the Leviathans. They require the consent of whomever they wish to use as their vessel - typically a person of a specific bloodline. They work in an incredibly ranked hierarchy with archangels on top and regular angels filling up the ranks underneath. All angels speak Enochian as well as every other language on the planet. As of now, because the Apocalypse has been averted and both Lucifer and Michael are out of the Cage, angels are free to come and go from Heaven to earth and interact with humans without punishment.

Angels have Grace, essentially the essence that makes them angels, and it can be weakened just as any other source of strength, but it will always recover fully unless removed from the angel. The rank of an angel is very telling of their abilities (an archangel trumps all, Castiel’s brand of warrior angel is stronger than a Cherub, etc) but ranking within the garrisons needs to be remembered as well (Anna being stronger than Castiel, Uriel being a ‘specialist’). While in their vessels, the human’s body changes substantially the longer the angel is inside, as noted by Castiel saying that his blood is not human in season 6. Angels have a true form outside of their human vessels but only certain humans can perceive them without having their eyes burned out just the same as an angel’s true voice (we don’t know of any yet) but a human fallen angel can still listen to the conversations of angels.

General abilities:

Superhuman strength

Telekinesis

Teleportation (what Dean terms ‘beaming’ but they can also fly with their wings, which can be hidden if they wish)

Invisibility

Healing (their vessels as well as humans)

Sedation

Exorcism by touch (Rank of demons is also important here i.e Alistair being immune to the touch; also works on monsters, see Vampires in Mommy Dearest)

Supernatural perception (detecting beings humans can’t see)

Telepathy

Soul reading & channeling

Voice mimicry

Incredible knowledge

Time travel (It should be noted that this takes an incredible amount of energy and considerably weakens the angel, especially when it is done without the consent of heaven.)

Special Abilities:

Memory manipulation

Gift of Revelation to prophets

Resurrection (Some, not all)

Matchmaking (specific to Cherubs/Cupids)

Destructive White Light (A Spirit Bomb with their Grace essentially)

Archangels can manipulate weather and have essentially perfected all the above abilities by virtue of being the oldest and the strongest of the angels. Gabriel is seen altering reality during his portrayal as a Trickster, but it is assumed the other three can also do this.

Holy Oil

Enochian Sigils

Exorcism (Only used by Alistair once and presumed to be known only to the oldest, most powerful of demons.)

Staff of Moses

Salt Crystal belonging to Lot's Wife

Angel Blade

Death’s Scythe

The Colt (not on the Archangels)

Leviathans

Archangels can kill other angels with a snap of their fingers (Anna’s death via Michael).

Eve is seen inhibiting Castiel’s powers and, as having been created before them, is perceived here to be at least as strong as an Archangel against them, though inhibiting all of an Archangel’s abilities is not within her range just as they cannot kill her with a simple snap.

The Cambion, Jesse Turner, is a valuable asset against angels. Castiel stated that he could destroy The Host with a single thought and even turned him into a toy.

It should be noted that an angel's abilities are not without limits - no one angel would be able to do all of these things, especially not at once. (ie, having a powerful character is not an excuse to god mod others)

Temporary Hiatus

Alright, so in talking with Adam we've realized a few things - 1 this blog is in major need of a face lift. This RP group has been going on for over 2 years (!!) and neither of us were original admins - I inherited it a little over a year ago and have slowly been working on sprucing the place up. Honestly though, it's incredibly difficult to make changes to an RP in progress. So we made a decision - we're putting the RP on a very brief, VERY temporary hiatus. You're free to keep RPing (in fact I encourage it) - take this opportunity to AU it up but official plots are off until we get everything fixed and set up how we want it. 

Things to look out for upon our return:

sleeker, more easy navigation on the main blog 

possibly a new name (we've had more than one person confuse us for a masterlist of all supernatural roleplayers)

Plots! 

An OOC chat where everyone can get a chance to interact and plot and come up with fantastic things.

More detailed bios, including all new OCs

Both Adam and I are around working on how exactly we're going to get all this together, so please don't hesitate to ask us for help, questions, clarification, etc. Our goal is to bring some life back to this RP because as most of you know it's been a bit slow lately and neither of us are willing to let it die. We are still accepting characters and applications, new people can join in on the AU fun, but right now we're not accepting any "doubles" ie an angel's empty vessel or something like that.

Two quick things:

First of all, I'd like to apologize for my absence; I've been working crazy hours and haven't been giving this RP the attention it deserves. However, I have the next two days off and hope to change that. Please forgive, all - I'm going to work on being better about balancing things. 

Second, the plot ideas are coming, I'm just working on putting them into a coherent form. Right now they're a jumbled mess in my head that probably only makes sense to me and possibly Adam because I was able to talk them through. I'm working on making it flow in some way, but if that doesn't work it may come to you in the form of a bullet point list of significant events. As always, please feel free to ask questions - either Adam or I answer every question we receive so if you haven't heard from us please try again. :)

Notice to all members:

There are a few changes that are going to be made, mostly to increase activity and hopefully bring in new members. The biggest of which is that Adam and I are working on an official plot. We've always said that we're a post season 5 AU but that's going to be enforced a bit more - we don't follow the exact storyline of the show partly because we have members in other countries/locations who aren't caught up and we try and avoid spoilers, and partly because we're here to exercise our own creativity within the universe created by the show. So! That being said, expect to see news and plots coming up soon.

Your own characters are still your own, though I may be asking some of you do something specific, plot wise. I'm not entirely sure how it's going to work yet, but the things you do with your character, the developments you've made are still intact. Nothing is changing on that front, we're just giving a direction to the future of the RP. That sounded confusing...so ask me if you have questions and hopefully I'll have a more coherent answer. 

Second - a massive activity check is in the works. One that will include characters on hiatus because, as much as I love you, I cannot hold your character forever and expect the RP to thrive. So, I'll be sending notices to everyone who's been inactive and if I don't hear from them within the week, the roles will be reopened. 

I would also like your input on the length of inactivity allowed - we've got one of the longest inactivity windows I've seen in any RP and I'm beginning to wonder if that hurts us in the long run. So send me an answer and let me know what you all think - should we shorten it down to hopefully increase activity or do you guys like it the way it is? Also, if you have something specific you want to do/see plot wise, let me know that as well.
