After watching a vid online, I realized that spiders are capable of holding and eating two critters at a time. Just because they are eating something, that doesn't mean that they won't hunt again if the opportunity is there. It'll take about a minute or two for the venom to kick in before the spider is confident enough to attack another fly, though.
This heavy jumper is holding two flies at a time. I know this because I saw the spider hunt twice in a row. I honestly don't know how it works. I took a pic to get a closer look at how the spider is gripping the food. Like other spiders, it used its forelegs to spin its food around to find a better grip on it. To be fair, these are tiny flies. They probably turned into crumpled mush much quicker than most meals and that made it easier for the spider to carry around. Kind of like holding two half-empty, crushed juice-boxes on one hand.
It's been a long ride, guys, but I finally made it. I got a spider to eat an annoying aedes mosquito off me. All those frustrating days of dealing with mozzies paid off for revenge. Life only goes up from here.
