people wanted part 2 to my last drabble, so here it is :)
Part 1
Morgan sat at Spencer’s bedside waiting for him to wake up. He could feel his own eyes growing heavy when he heard a soft groan. He was instantly awake and staring at Spencer, whose face twitched and eyelashes fluttered.
“Reid?” Morgan gently brushed Spencer’s hair out of his face, the kid needed a haircut.
Spencer’s eyebrows furrowed and he finally opened his eyes a little, just so he was squinting.
“Morgan? What happened?” he softly asked.
Morgan took a deep breath, “You were shot. It was the Bridges kid.”
“Oh,” Spencer murmured.
Spencer was quiet for a while and Morgan almost thought the kid was going to go back to sleep when his eyes flashed open, fully this time.
“Morgan?” Spencer softly called his name again, but now there was a twinge of panic in it.
“What is it?” Morgan asked him gently, trying to soothe the fear in the younger man’s eyes.
“My… My arm. I can’t move my right arm or hand.”
Morgan’s heart dropped and his eyes instantly flashed to Spencer’s arm. He felt relief as he saw it twitching. He chuckled slightly and grabbed Spencer’s right hand.
“You’re moving it right now, Pretty Boy.”
Spencer gulped, “I-I know that. But I’m trying to squeeze your hand right now… I can’t.”
Morgan stared at their hands in realization. All he could feel was the slightest bit of movement of Spencer’s fingers.
-
Morgan paced in the waiting room for news as the doctor examined Spencer.
“Worrying won’t help anything,” Hotch tried to reason with him, “Spencer is alive. You know that.”
Morgan knew Hotch was trying to comfort him, but he couldn’t help but snap, “but there’s something wrong with him!” he nearly shouted.
Hotch walked closer to him and gave him a stern look, “Morgan, Spencer will need us. You can’t let him see you act like this.”
Morgan felt the anger in him disappearing, “I know, Hotch. I’m just worried.”
Hotch opened his mouth to respond when they both heard footsteps coming into the waiting room. They turned to see the doctor that was treating Spencer.
“Dr. Reid has given me permission to share this information with you. He has sustained damage to his nerves on the right side of his body. It is mostly his arm and hand that is affected, he has very limited mobility in it. His leg is affected to a lesser degree. He can move it and walk but he has a limp. He will need a lot of physical therapy to hope to regain some mobility in his arm, but I’ll be honest, it will take a miracle for him to regain full mobility.”
-
Morgan was so angry he could punch something and probably would have if he wasn’t standing in the middle of a hospital. Somehow Morgan had managed to convince himself that Spencer, being in stable condition, would be perfectly ok. He would take some time to recover from the bullet wound but then everything would be back to normal. But now Morgan was being told that Spencer, his little brother, would never be the same. His arm is practically paralyzed.
Morgan took a deep breath and promised himself he would be there every step of the way. He would be at every physical therapy appointment, if Spencer needed something he would be there, he would carry things Spencer couldn’t.
-
Morgan kept his promise to himself. He attended every physical therapy session he could with Spencer and helped as much as possible. And now, two months later, Spencer was ready to return to work. He would no longer be right in the field but his mind was invaluable.
Morgan knew Spencer was nervous, the physical therapy was not very successful in restoring his mobility to his arm. Instead the most effective part was Spencer learning to do things without the use of his right arm.
“Hey Pretty boy,” Morgan greeted Spencer with a smile as he saw him enter the bullpen.
Spencer responded with a shy smile and started anxiously arranging his stuff onto his desk. He couldn’t shake the feeling that other agents were staring at him as his arm layed limp at his side.
Spencer flinched as he felt a hand on his shoulder, he turned to see it was only Morgan.
“Sorry Reid, didn’t mean to startle you. Do you need any help?”
Spencer shook his head, “I’m okay, thanks Morgan.”
-
During the first case they were called on was in Illinois. Three women had been killed in a series of drowning attacks at various rivers, and lakes in the surrounding area.
Spencer just walked into the room the team had set up in and Morgan noticed the upset and somewhat embarrassed look on his face. Spencer had just returned from checking out a dump site with two police officers.
“Hey, are you ok?” Morgan asked, concern etched on his face.
Spencer shrugged, his right shoulder barely moving.
“Come on Spencer, tell me what happened,” Morgan pressed him.
“The officers, I just heard them talking about me at the dump site. They were talking about how weird my arm looked ‘just hanging there,’” Spencer laughed humorlessly. Seeing the anger flash on Morgan’s face, “please don’t confront them, it will only make it worse.”
Seeing the pleading look on Spencer’s face, Morgan took a deep breath to calm down, “Ok Reid, but I am going to report this to the chief,” he told Spencer, placing his hand on Spencer’s arm.
Spencer instantly froze and Morgan realized his mistake. He had put his hand on Spencer’s right arm. Morgan knew Spencer didn’t like it being touched.
“Spencer, I’m sorry… I don’t think, and-”
Spencer shook his head and offered Morgan a small smile, “it’s okay, Morgan. You can touch my arm.”

that s1 ep where he was being held hostage by the cops kid, like some MCD or near MCD?
CW - Near main character death
The gunshot echoed through the forest as Morgan froze in shock for what seemed like eternity but was in reality a few minutes. Spencer crumbled in Cory’s arms. Morgan snapped back into motion and fired a quick shot, right into Cory’s forehead.
He didn’t even think to check if Cory was dead; he immediately rushed over to Spencer
“No, no, no,” Morgan whispered, as he inspected the gunshot in Spencer’s neck, but he couldn’t make out how bad it was. What was he thinking! He was shot in the neck, of course it's bad!
He fumbled around for his phone and quickly dialed Hotch, relieved the service was finally working.
“Morgan? What’s going on?”
“Listen, Hotch it was the Bridges kid. He shot Spencer in the neck. I don’t know if he aliv-” Morgan’s voice cracked as he felt tears on his cheeks. He couldn’t even say it. Spencer was NOT dead. It was only a few days ago he had been teasing the kid. He had always wanted a little brother and that’s what Spencer was to him.
Morgan’s thoughts were interrupted by Hotch’s voice, “we’re on our way, Morgan. Try to put pressure on the bleeding, we have a medic on the way.”
“I am, I am. Please just hurry!”
Morgan continued to press his shirt against Spencer’s wound. He didn’t even remember taking it off. What felt like hours later he felt hands on him.
“Morgan, let go,” he heard Hotch’s firm voice. Morgan looked around and saw the medics already starting to work on Spencer. He nodded and released Spencer.
Morgan stood up and looked down at his shaking hands. They were covered in blood, Spencer’s blood. He glanced around and saw Hotch speaking to Gideon who was staring blankly ahead at Spencer.
“Morgan?” A voice said his name and he turned to see Elle, “We’re going to the hospital, do you want to come?” her voice sounded like she was barely holding it together.
Morgan blinked and nodded, “yeah, yeah, let’s go.” He took a shaky breath and followed Elle back to the cars.
*
Elle sat beside Morgan in the waiting room, while Hotch and Gideon quietly whispered in the corner. JJ was pacing. It had been hours since Spencer was taken into surgery and still they had no news.
Just then a Doctor walked in. “Spencer Reid,” he called.
The team stood up, but only Hotch and Morgan approached him.
“Spencer has been stabilized but we are unable to know if they’re will be any permanent damage.”
Morgan involuntarily started to tune out. Permanent damage? Spencer could be disabled? Morgan slowly made his way back to his seat as the doctor continued to speak with Hotch. Spencer couldn’t be disabled. Morgan would never forgive himself. This was all his fault, he should have acted faster.
Morgan heard Elle trying to talk to him but he ignored her only continuing to stare forward as his thoughts spiraled.
A/N - Let me know if you want a part 2 and if Spencer should have permeant damage/be disabled. Feel free to give ideas.

Do any other autistic people go through phases of wearing the same outfit for like a week? I will literally wash the same outfit every night because the thought of wearing something different upsets me. It usually last a week or two and then I move onto a different outfit and repeat the cycle.
