A Guilted Hunger (Prologue)
Synopsis: Sylus buys you at an auction thinking things will be the same as before. You don't remember your past life with him.
(A/n: First fic on here. Not rly sure how to format things. Just wanted to write angst and smut. Will write this in parts)

Sylus wasn't particularly interested in buying people.
It was a repeat occurance for him to be offered people to be sold in his auctions. Beautiful or ugly, young or old, rich or poor - there were too many circumstances to count that a person could end up being sold. But he always refused to feature people. In his opinion, it was a disgusting trade to be in. He would rather die again and wait another millenia to reincarnate as a fruit fly before stooping to that level.
Put simply, it went against his personal code of ethics, so any effort towards selling people was always shut down when it came to the auctions he sponsored.
That's probably why he was particularly livid when he was informed only seconds before a showcase that there would be a body on display.
"What?"
Sylus was across the hall when he got word. The curtain had already raised to reveal her as he made his way over. As always, he kept his anger unhurried. Whoever was responsible for this would get their punishment in due time. But at that moment, it was a matter of getting the body out of the auction. He would just have to pay his way through.
There were too many people surrounding the glass that encased her. He couldn't even see her face and yet, he felt the shift in the room. There were too many men. There was too much hunger.
What was shown was worse than he expected. His patience thinned. Suddenly it wasn't so irrational for him to gouge out the eyes of everyone in the room. He would have to make sure to personally deal with whoever caused this.
A spotlight bathed the platform in bright light, directly shining on a kneeling woman dressed in white silk, with hands bound behind her. A lace ribbon obscured her vision. She was nothing like the wild and exotic animals that came before her. But to Sylus, she was just as rare.
"Fifty million."
It was silent. No one dared to raise a paddle against him. This was his woman.
