I’ve taken down some posts recently not because I disagree with them but because I feel as though I’m being intentionally misunderstood and do not want to be lead into pointless arguments. I did make this alt for more explicit and controversial topics for myself and others to share and discuss but I do believe one is getting somewhat out of hand and was perhaps too much of a conversation to be had here. There’s definitely better Wukongs out there and in all honesty? I don’t think they know what they’re doing with him in lmk. Lego wanted to make a series out of something popular in China made the obvious and safe decision to do journey to the west and just wasn’t ready to have Wukong be a full time character.

He was too popular to keep as a cameo teacher role so they had to keep writing him into more and more stuff. Don’t get me wrong I enjoy when he’s on screen as much as the next guy but sometimes it feels forced. The episodes inside his memory’s were some of my favorites though hands down.

They’re definitely getting better at making it feel like he wasn’t shoved in tho and I don’t mean to make it sound like a bad thing.

Any opinion on Lady Bone Demon and Macaque redemtion arc?

LBD will probably be the best villain we ever get. I do think she was unfortunately stunted by being in a show like Monkie kid though. I have a lot of ideas and thoughts of what this show could have been if it wasn’t made by Lego was geared towards an older audience and had a proper 25 minute episode run time. Stuff like her having more followers that bother the cast. ( mayor could be an example of this idea his whole character is another victim of the show being what it is imo)

Macaque is another thing that was wasted on this show and could have been so much better but for now we’re talking about canon so I’ll push those thoughts aside. Could the redemption arc been better? 100%. Is this a kids show made to sell toys with a shitty run time ? YES. I really do think most of the people complaining about it are forgetting what this show is and expecting wayyyy too much from it. But come on it’s Lego did you really expect some grand multi season redemption plot? He’s part of the gang now and there’s nothing we can do about it so please just grow up and find something else to talk about.

Seriously though whatever big brain representation thing you THINK you’re doing is just looping back around to being insensitive and weird. News flash light skinned minorities are still POC and characters don’t have to look like you for you to connect to them!

Seriously guys this is gross especially with characters like Red son and Chang'e. I can’t believe this is a discussion we need to have come on. (Also macaque is still Chinese even though he’s slightly tan 🤯 )

I rly don't get why some people get so pressed about others having preferences for one specific ship dynamic or character interpretation. You do you and leave the rest alone. Have people forgotten how the block button works? or how to mute certain tags?

why is this fandom so obsessed with macaque being a bottom? you guys like to twinkify and make him weak and pathetic in bed and reduce him to wukong’s mate to dominate which is just really weird in my opinion like 😑🤷🏽

1: there’s actually way more stuff on AO3 with bottom Wukong so why aren’t you complaining about that instead.

2: Macaque is more of a blank slate for character writing while Wukong has literally dozens of stories where he gives major top energy before LMK was even in development so that’s been sealed in for a lot of people.

3: nobody is making you interact with this stuff and it’s not hurting anyone so why do you even care? We’re all allowed opinions so why is yours more important? plenty of us prefer bottom macaque for our own reasons nobody is tying you down and making you look at it.

What problems do you have with Pixiv? It could be because you're not registered or logged into your acc, or you have mature content blocked in your acc settings. Those are very common issues.

I made an account for this specifically and it only showed a blank page :(. I’ll try again in a minute and update this post then but I might just be having bad luck.

Seriously though I’ve seen so many talented writers and artists with their own amazing creative art and stories get completely ignored and snuffed until they make something for another creators work then they get hundreds of notes while their own spectacular work can barely break 50 max IF that on a good day.

No shame if you actually like them but we should be addressing the power imbalance this kind of stuff brings to small fandoms and how it suppresses creativity and motivation when people only care about the bigs. It’s really not fair to people who work so hard when a literal screenshot of one of these AUs gets big attention and praise over their ignored hard work.

I’m sure the creators don’t mean for stuff like this to happen but they really should recognize the power they have over this community and how much it can actually damage us.
