Tourist: A variant of visitor / daytripper that describes soulbonds who visit the soulbonder rarely or notably a lot less than other soulbonds.

A soulbond term we're coining, based off @soularsys's flags and terms! We coined this for our soulbonds who show up like... three times a year at most like it's a fun holiday, but obviously what timeframe you consider "rare" or "a lot less" may differ a lot from that!

Creating another soulbonding symbol

Before anything, yes, I know that there already is a soulbonding symbol! In my personal opinion, though, the symbol is fairly basic, as eyes are a very widely used symbol. I don't see that and immediately think of soulbonding because eyes are used to represent so many things. Of course, this is just my opinion, and there is no shame to those who like it.

I did find mention of another symbol on an old soulbonding forum, but this symbol seems to be lost to time. I may recreate this one at a future date as well- it is described as being a tree with its roots planted in a heart. This does sound pretty cool, though, unfortunately complex. I think the most successful community symbols are ones that those without any artistic ability can replicate, and trees aren't so easy to draw.

So, what is my proposition?

Of course, I say the eye is basic, and then I just use a bunch of circles in mine. Hypocritical? Probably lol.

The two small rings represent the soulbond and the bonder, and the larger ring represents the link between them. The circular shapes were somewhat inspired by the soulbonding flag.

This symbol admittedly looks similar to some orbital symbols you can find online, but I tried to make this unique in and of itself. The space theme, I believe, actually fits quite well, like, traveling across universes and all that.

Based on this, I also created a symbol for soulbonders & soulbonds who are in a relationship/soulbonders who regularly date their soulbonds:

Another goal was to make this personalize-able (words suck), you could replace the inner circles with other symbols to represent more of your own experiences.

Since Tumblr likes to destroy image quality, here's cleaner downloads for all of these as well:

I know I blabbed a lot in this post lol. Any soulbond/soulbonder can use these symbols, whether your soulbonding is metaphysical or psychological, plural or non-plural, voluntary or involuntary, or whatever other experiences you may have.

I realize I don't have a name for this symbol also. Soulbonding rings? May be too close to the plural rings. Soulbonding orbit? Doesn't really roll off the tongue. Call it whatever you want I suppose.

prophet: a kind of soulbond that communicates to the soulbonder via dreams while they're asleep. requested by @chrollos-girl!

guest: a caller (telephone) soulbond that occassionally becomes a visitor (daytripper) for a short while before going back to their reality for an extended period of time, making them more 'caller' than 'visitor'

INTERIM // SPAMMER // TELEPATH

interim: a resident (permanent) soulbond that leaves only when absolutely necessary, usually leaving for short periods of time and coming back for extended periods of time, making them more 'resident' than 'visitor' (daytripper)

spammer: a caller (telephone) soulbond that is constantly around & talking to the soulbonder whilst staying in their reality. a mix of 'resident' (permanent) and 'caller'

telepath: a resident (permanent) or visitor (daytripper) that is capable of communicating like a caller (telephone) whenever they're not around the soulbonder

resident: an alt. term for the soulbonding term 'permanent', meaning a soulbond that is permanently resided with the soulbonder

caller: an alt. term for the soulbonding term 'telephone', meaning a soulbond that communicates telepathically with the soulbonder without being present

COSMABOND // COSMABONDER // COSMABONDING

what's cosmabonding? a term for soulbonders who's soulbonding is done via reality shifting, soulbonds that shifted from their realities / can shift back and forth from the soulbond's reality to their own, etc; typically seen as a spiritual/magical experience but can be psychological as well!

some optional extras but not requirements! - denotes that soulbonds are externally around the soulbonder rather than internally, similar to projection - not meant to be separate from soulbonding (more like a subterm of soulbonding), but can be if the user wants! - though inspired by the term cosmagenic, it's separated by the fact that it's not meant to be a system term but can be if the user wants! coined to fit my specific experience with soulbonding! completely free to use, but please credit me if you do! :)

🫂 what's the relationship dynamic between you and your soulbond(s)?

I'll just have to give some examples since we have a few non soulbond headmates- so we have multiple people here with various relationships with our bonds.

- Vernon and Winifred are dating 🐈‍⬛; Aster and Atlas are in sort of a qpr(?) with 🎈.

- Aster, Atlas, and Jill are pretty close since they were co hosts for a while ^^

- Rose is a mother figure to most of our littles and a few of our other resident system members.

- Celeste is an older brother figure to some of us too ^^

- Jill is also a mother figure to one of our littles.

- Dollie is very shy and only visits when certain people are in front.

- 🌧 doesn't visit much, but when cloud does we feel very soothed because clouds presence is relaxing.

💬 what are some fun facts about your soulbond(s)?

- Jill has a son who visits occasionally! He can't see her normally since they live in seperate universes (she's from our Gravity Falls au so she's done multiverse traveling before).

- Three of our soulbonds are a part of systems themselves (Jill is a median system and Rose and Celeste are a system) and some of us have visited Rose and Celeste's headspace before.

- Vernon (our host) is a soulbond and appeared here with 👁 (she doesn't front much). They're technically the same oc, just 👁 was our most current iteration of Vernon.

- One of our bonds is a version of the god Dionysus from our paracosm.

- Most of our bonds are our paras ^^

- Dione's (aka Dionysus) wife also visits sometimes ^^

- (This is sort of both a system fact and a soulbond fact) The letter that the most names in our system starts with is A :3
