I've JUST finished the last episode of season 2 SRMTHFG...

OKOK guys I'm so into the series now.

I immediately started writing this after watching episode 27, and OW I did not expect I would cry over a cartoon episode. This season was honestly epic to summarize it, and I am really invested to what happens next as it’s now on a cliffhanger. This whole show literally took a dark turn after that episode, I'm so shocked and I honestly don't know what to say to describe how I'm feeling rn.

What I think season 2 stands out from season 1 is the increasing amount of backstory (plot development!) and the development of Chiro’s character! Season 2 starts with episode 2 imo (As ep 1 is a sequel to the last episode of s1) And you can already see more character development starting from episode 3 (Hey I remembered that episode)! It was one of my favorite episodes overall, and one focusing on Chiro. I take back what I said about him relying on the Monkeys in my previous post XD (SORRY). There was also more story for Nova and Antauri! They’re my favorite 2 Monkeys and I’m glad they have their own spotlight!

Anyway there were introductions to new characters such as Mobius Quint, and also reappearances of the Sun Riders!!! I never thought there was another episode of them :D!!! There is more screentime for the citizens in Shuggazoom too which is pretty funny lol. Respect for Mr.Cheepers who still wasn’t torn nor broken after so many attacks. (Or he got a new one every episode)

Ep 4: OH MY GOD the monkeys were/are actually real monkeys! Skeleton king backstory we got here, I’m really glad that he wasn’t those stereotypical villains who just exist for no reason. I pray for more backstory of him in the future. Why was he evil, what did he want to accomplish, and why did he want to create an opposing force to defeat himself? (Lol tbh he could just perish himself) but things are getting exciting!!

There are so much more I want to talk about but it would be too long so I shall now head on to this last episode: ‘I, Chiro’. My absolute god I still couldn’t believe Antauri actually died? Usually in other series I would be spoiled, but because of the small community, there weren't any spoilers and I was definetly not mentally prepared for it... (In a good way though)! After all these episodes you can literally feel the bond between him and Chiro, and! Like DAMN why is it so sudden! This would absolutely traumatize me as a kid. Especially with the previous episode, where Chiro was saving Antauri and all, I was getting emotionally attached to him too! The storywriter was so smart for creating such a climax, no wonder it’s still loved by fans :). We also got to know why skeleton king kept attacking Shuggazoom city in particular which had been a mystery for me (Thought it was just bad plot and all), but he wanted to revive this giant entity! That explains it!

I see things are getting pretty dark, and I’m kind of upset that things aren’t going to be the same anymore without Antauri. I will still continue watching and see how it will go. Round of applause for the GOAT Ciro Nieli for creating such an underrated but epic kids’ show. (Not highly recommended for kids in my opinion though hehe)

I finished watching season 1 of SRMTHFG!

I have finished watching the 14 episodes (Including episode 1 of season 2) and OH MY GOD I absolutely fell in love with the show! The characters, the plot and the animation is just epic! I am looking forward to start season 2 as soon as possible :).

 I was initially slightly confused with how episode 1 started, as it didn’t really feel like a first episode (I thought the episodes were misarranged). But after a few more episodes it made more sense and I’m actually pretty satisfied about how the story started! The whole of season 1 is mostly separate stories each episode, missions to save Shuggazoom from the skeleton king, and it’s a pretty repetitive structure but adding more context on each of the main characters. I think the purpose is for the audience to familiarize and get to know more about them, before adding more plot. You can also eventually see the bonds between the team and how they care for each other as a ‘family’, which is really sweet :D.

We got some backstory in episode 6 about mandarin! It was pretty interesting because Mandarin didn’t really feel like a ‘bad guy’, and I kind of feel sorry for him. Being exiled by his siblings like, he was in the wrong but they didn’t have to do such an extreme act! If I were him I would’ve turned evil too!

Episode 7 – I love how when the skeleton king shows an image of Chiro captured, he looked so much more vulnerable and cuter than usual which I think indicates how the monkeys see him as a little child/little brother :,D. Must protect the boy! (HAHA the fact that they all looked so sad after and was just standing to be captured, this made me crackle)

Episode 10 – Gyrus Krinkle! What did he do! he just wanted to do ear piloting… I would be pretty heartbroken if they ignored me like that too so… I feel you bro. :(

I guess I was watching the episodes from 12-season 2 when I was young because I was kind of familiar with the scenes there. The season ends with Chiro discovering his power and realized he was the ‘chosen one’! I hope there will be more context about this power, as we don’t know much about it having it just being introduced. You get the whole battle against the evil boss, and defeated him. I’m pretty much convinced he wasn’t dead because the whole plot of season one was fighting against Skeleton king's minions, and it would be weird for 3 seasons to continue without him. We’ll see :D! I guess it would be like he’s just a part of a greater evil or sth, like a small boss!

The show is so great that there is only 1 thing that I think can be changed: Chiro shouldn’t rely on his monkeys too much. It’s not like it affects my interest in the show as I like the characters a lot (especially Antauri and Nova), but you can pretty much predict what will happen. There seemed to be a chance for improvement for the last 2 episodes, Chiro was independent while fighting Mandarin but he couldn’t succeed without Antauri’s message. And he was with Gibson in episode 1 of season 2 when saving the other monkeys. They’re still fine, though the only scene that I felt was less satisfying for me was when battling the skeleton king. The monkeys came out of nowhere and helped Chiro at the end except for him doing the final blow. I get the whole ‘team-assemble’ thing in the final episode but the battle between 2 leaders was in such a climax, it felt slightly weird having it interrupted. I hope it will be changed in the future as he had the power primate and can defeat stronger enemies on his own now! But that’s just a mere suggestion from me only and I still love the show the way it is now!

I finally began watching SRMTHFG!

Hi :D! I'm new (kinda?) to the series and I'm going to start watching SRMTHFG!!

It all started last week when I was searching up on google, with bad attempts trying to describe a cartoon I vaguely remembered stumbling upon when I was in primary 2... and surprisingly I found it!

Super Robot Monkey Team Hyperforce Go!!! AHHH this brings back so much memories. Although I recall only watching barely 5 episodes (yk, it depends on what time you open the channel), this one show is still lingering in my memories after 10 years. I'm gonna list the things that I remember now, and see if they are in the show or if I was delusional XD :

There was this circus episode where the protagonist turned into a clown??? That was honestly traumatizing for me as a kid.

Definitely a scene where the blue monkey got frozen ToT.

There was a room with toys and the protagonist said it was his. It's a typical protagonist backstory episode?

There was an episode of monkeys in a desert but I forgot what the context was.

I'm planning to write some comments after watching each season, just for fun! :D
