Before chapter 3 I really loved and still love Rouxls Kaard though he sucks ass and is so lame he's so bad I LOVE Him So Much and chapter 3 fucking DELIVERED for him. I love how now you can say you're pulling a kaard when you wanna insert an oc or self insert into a couple, it's so fucking funny LORD in LOVE . My love of this man is apparent when I write a wholeass x reader for my friends oc x canoning endeavors

Some thoughts on TBHX episode 20

This episode has to be hands down the best episode in the show so far, honestly. So many amazing scene and character development, as well as some much interesting revelation taking place, so let's see what we got:

First of all, Zero. Zero has been one of the most integral parts of the TBHX world since the beginning, as well as one of the most mysterious. For a long time we only knew of Zero from outside sources, with the Fall of Dawn incident being only referenced in passing. I think the first time Zero is ever mentioned by name in the show itself was actually in episode 19?? We finally get some more details as to what exactly happened with Zero this episode, though, and BOY was it some heavy lore. One of the core themes in TBHX has always been the idolization of celebrities and society's expectations and how those can have very negative consequences on people, and Zero is the best example of this. He was once the greatest hero in human history, idolized to the point where he became a literal god. However, no matter how much people thought of him as a deity, he was still human and could make mistakes, and when one such mistake resulted in the death of a fellow hero, all the Trust Zero had quickly turned into Fear, which ended up corrupting him into a God of Death that almost destroyed the world were it not for the combined efforts of heroes all around the globe.

This is so interesting to me because it shows the extent of how powerful people's belief in this universe is and the damage it can cause, something that, supernatural powers aside, is still very much true of our world. Prejudice, impossible expectations, stereotypes... trust that fails to be met and fear of all which we don't fully understand, all of those have been cause of major conflicts in our world through history and have hurt us all at some point in our life in one way or another. It's also not lost to me how the CEOs actively take advantage of the Trust and Fear Values to manipulate people's actions into what they find most benefitial for them, and the second this system gets threatened they don't hesitate to get rid of said threat while also making sure they aren't held accountable, such as Shang De hinting at Nice that he should go kill the investigation team at the spaceship without outright stating so, therefore gaining plausible deniability in case things go wrong. This is, again, something people in power do in real life, taking advantage of public expectations and prejudice and manipulating the masses for their own agendas, then wiping their hands clean using whatever scapegoat they can find.

In any case, though, we can expect Zero to be a major part of season 2, specially since we now know that Rock is actively trying to bring him back for some reason. And of course, there is also the fact that Zero has so many parallels and connections with our X, which only brings up many more questions about him, his powers and how is he not affected by the Trust Value (I made a post with my own theories if anyone is interested). Perhaps we'll learn some more about it next episode since according to the preview we'll have a scene with X in his civilan form talking with hero Smile.

Anyways, moving on to Nice, we also learnt a fair great about him. It's stated that his perfect persona was created through "fear" instead of trust, which is incredibly interesting since we don't know what exactly that implies. We still don't know exactly what is up with Nice, but we can see he's been abused by the system pretty much since the beginning and really, really hates his job, judging by how quick he was to smash the screen talking about him (it made me laugh ngl).

Despite this, he's also very desperate to keep it as he didn't hesitate to go kill the research team at the spaceship, and it makes me curious as to why would he go so far when he clearly hates what he's doing?? I wonder if it has to do with Shang De, since it was also revealed that he trained Nice personally at first, and Nice seemed very distressed that he was being discarded and passed off to Miss J.

That is, however, as much as we learn of Nice for now. He remains a character shrouded in mystery for the time being, and while we might learn some more in the remaining episodes, I feel his whole story as well as the reasons behind his suicide in the present time won't be explored until season 2.

Having said that, the best part of the episode to me has to do with the female characters and the treatment they received this episode. I've been wanting to make a post talking about the feminism themes in the show for a while now, but I decided to wait until season 1 is over (and I'm glad I did since many of the problems I had were resolved this episode). However, I think it's necessary to touch them a bit when talking about this episode. Beginning with Queen: You all have no idea how happy I am about her scene and the treatment she received this episode. Lesbian thoughts aside, that has to be the coolest entrance any character has ever had in the show, I am willing to say it's one of the coolest entrances in any show ever, actually. What aura, what elegancy, what strenght! But it's also a very much needed show of Queen's true power and why she is the top 2 hero and the epitome of female heroes in general. You see, something TBHX likes to do a lot is play with its audience. The show is very self aware and knows how people will react to things, often making the real life audience react the same way as the in-universe society. This, unfortunately, means that at best Queen was overshadowed by X's first proper appearance in the show in her own introductory episode and, at worst, she received hundreds of mysogynistic comments mocking her for her defeat at the tournament and complaining about her message.

That's why this scene is so important to her character. It show exactly why she is so high in the ranking. She singlehandedly stopped the whole conflict like it was NOTHING, completely paralysing E-Soul (who is a fellow top 10 hero), Nice (who has to be in the top 20 at least) and Loli, then completely removes all the debris, unmaking all the damage the others had caused during the fight in order to get Little Johnny (and Ghostblade I guess) to safety in a matter of seconds. She's strong, she's in control and she knows it. And a good show of that is her confidence when dealing with Big Johnny, who is in berserker mode and isn't affected by her power. But she still walks towards him with no fear and calms him down immediately,, and it makes sense, because she has always been softer with him and taken care of him just like Little Johnny. If someone else can calm him down? That's her.

But the star of the episode was, undoubtedly, Luo Li. What a character she's been. I wasn't much interested in her before the show started, but her introduction made me fall in love with her, she's such a charming character and seeing her arc come together as well as finally solidify herself as a hero has been as satisfying as it has been heartbreaking. Mind you, she was 16 in this episode, fighting so hard to protect the people she loves and care about only for a completely different threat to annihilate them while she was fighting Nice... In a moment she lost her dad and her childhood friend, and her best friend is in a coma that they don't know when or IF she will wake up from. She finally became a hero like she wanted, but she is doing so alone, the people she wanted with her the most when she achieved her dream all gone in an instant.

At the very least, I am glad that she got to show her rage on screen. Many shows won't dare to let women be angry or sad, not more than just a bit of crying, and especially not if the character is marketed as being cute. Luo Li, however, got to show all the ugliest side of rage and did so unapologetically. She just lost everyone she cared about, so of course she yells, and punches and kills. We see one of the clone guys hit Da Xiong multiple times on the head to kill him, and then we see Luo Li do the same brutality to one of the clones until Nice appears. And that fight itself? It was messy, it was savage, and it transmited all the rage that Luo Li was feeling at that moment and I'm so glad about it. I was cheering so loud for her throughout the whole fight, and I'm also glad that despite her being obviously mad out of her mind at that moment, they still remember how smart she is, specially with how she used her own armor to trap Nice.

Over all, it was an amazing episode for her and an incredibly emotional end for her arc before the current time. Loli has grown into one of my favorite characters in the show, and while I doubt we'll get to see much her in the remaining four episodes, I hope she at least gets some cameos before the season ends. Can't wait to see her in season 2 as well :)

The fact that people don't think friendship is enough to justify characters doing insane acts of love for each other baffles me. Like have you never loved your friend so so much you want to live in their ribcage. Have you never been really weird about a friend.
