Being a muslim on the internet is a damn minefield. You can't go into any social media post featuring someone who even looks muslim without expecting islamophobia in the comment section. Our religious phrases (inshallah, alhamdulillah etc.) have been co-opted into "funny internet lingo" that you get to see misused and overused over and over by people who couldn't give a rats ass about you or your culture.
Being arab on the internet is similar too. Can't go under a post with someone arabic in it without some casual racism, we're stereotyped to no end, etc etc. But what hurts far, far more is how little I see myself in the media I consume. Everyone is all for representation but suddenly when we turn to the Middle East and North Africa (MENA for short), we get fucking nothing. Nothing. People only care about us for one of two reasons. Our ancient history (think: Egypt) or how we can save the poor oppressed women and children in the evil barbaric lands of Arabia.
Lucky me, then, that I've got both to handle.

Todayās Episode of Double Standards
Masculine Women: All sorts of characterizations and sexualities. Literally any woman could be masculine and though theyād have a slight tendency to be described as a butch lesbian itās not a hard and fast rule.
Feminine Men: Gay. Thatās it. They only ever get gay. The only justification seen for a feminine man is gay and alternatives are only provided in response to the gay justification.

Another SCP post - Supporting Authors
Arachno-lagophobia Ā Hey yāall! Back with another SCP post. This time, Iāve come to recommend some smaller authors that I personally think need a lot more attention. Keep in mind many of these authors may not have many works, but the works they do have up are great!
In no particular order:
1) Marcelles_Raynes
Author PageĀ
Notable Works: SCP-6800Ā - The White Ashes. A constant blizzard of white ash covers the world as we explore the dying race of the fae.
2) LittleFieryOne
Author Page
Notable Works: SCP-6971 - The Protagonist. A little bit of a format screw on this one, but it totally works. We take the POV of the protagonist in this story. Is this for the best?
3) cwazzycrafter
Author Page
Notable Works: SCP-6606Ā - Spectrum Says. Another format screw that totally works. An alternate world where the mysterious Spectrum has taken over Earth and instated an extreme beurocracy upon it.
4) fairydoctor
Ā Author Page
Notable Works: SCP-6420 - Arachno-lagophobia. Rabbit-spider hybrids infest a house. Body horror ensues.
5) Boogey_Man23
Author Page
Notable Works: Rampant, Rogue, Renegade.Ā A GOC unit, a team of UIU agents, and an anomalous kid caught in the middle. Hyjinks ensue.
6) sketchyth0ughts
Author Page
Notable Works: SCP-6525 - Fuck Your Family. Itās really emotional I swear.
7) Dr Golden
Author Page
Notable Works: SCP-6990Ā - The Truth About Ancient Aliens. This aricle written by totally not me explores a humorous explanation of the ancient aliens theory. Follow a wacky gang of Egyptologysts on their first (and hopefully not last!) adventure.
Thats all for now, but Iāll 100% be adding to this list whenever I can :D

i just find it hilarious when people here say smart stuff not to raise actual discussion, but to sow discourse even they cannot understand. little jesters in the castle courtroom dancing to a chaotic cacophony they cannot even comprehend.

Alright yall. So the SCP Foundation has come into the limelight for a while, what with the whole āYou do Not Recognise The Bodies in The Waterā trend going on in social media, which is great! However, there have been some misconceptions going around about the wiki that I would like to dispel. So please, ask me anything you want about the wiki and Iāll try my best to get an answer for you!

So you wanna read SCPs
Thereās, what, over 5000 already. It looks daunting, doesnāt it? Where do you start?Ā
Before you start, you need to hammer in something:
THERE IS NO CANON
Donāt think of the SCP wiki as all one connected story/canon. Someone could, right now, write an SCP with zero connections to any other entry and it would work. A large majority of SCPs are standalone, in fact. So donāt be bothered with trying to connect every SCP into one story. This also means that going in numeric order is completely arbitrary. 6042, for instance, will have no connection to 6043 or 6041. So feel free to jump about between numbers.
SCPs, of course, have a number. As of writing, these numbers range from 001 - 6999. Every one thousand SCPs, starting at 0 (or 1 in the case of the first thousand) and ending at 999 is sorted into Series. So SCPs 001 to 999 would be Series I, and 1000 to 1999 would be Series II etc. A good way to know which Series an SCP is in is to add 1 to the number in its thousands slot. So SCP-049 is in Series I, because adding 1 to the number in its thousands slot (0) results in 1.Ā
Because the Series VII slots have relatively recently opened, a lot of numbers in the 6 thousands will be empty, waiting for someone to slot an SCP into them. So, where should you start?
DO NOT START AT 001
If you look at 001, you will find a large amount of different entries all for the same slot. These entries are all going to be complex and/or story rich, often referencing other SCPs and other aspects of the universe. Not a good starting point for a newbie. Skip 001 until youāve familiarized yourself with the universe.
It might be tempting to also start at Series I. You can do that, but I would recommend against it. Series I and even Series II to an extent are both filled with very very simple SCPs. The SCPs in these slots often completely lack or barely contain a story within them, which makes them somewhat boring or unengaging. These early SCPs were also a result of the early wikiās lack of standards and/or rules, so you will find SCPs that use triggering subjects without any warnings for the sake of shocking the reader within Series I.Ā
Fortunately, the SCP wiki and community has moved very far from its roots. The modern SCP community holds itself to a high standard, especially compared to other collaborative writing efforts on the internet. So you might think to start in a more modern Series, like Series VI or VII. I would also recommend against this, but you can totally do this as well. Modern SCPs can often feel overwhelming to new readers, so you may want to stray away from these as well until youāve become familiar with the universe. Plus, Series VII is still in the process of filling up, so you wonāt find a lot of entries there.Ā
New Series, like Series VII, are also prone to what we call coldposts. Coldposts are articles posted onto the wiki without any feedback at all from anyone on the wiki. These articles, though not always, will 99% of the time end up being poorly formatted or poorly written. These are often written by enthusiastic but unknowing authors hoping to pitch in their ideas into the wiki, so be sure to treat them with kindness.
So, I think the best place to start would be the middle of the road. Series III, IV and V are where the SCP community finally started to branch out from their creepypasta-inspired roots and expand to fill new writing niches. Around this time the quality of articles also begins to get a lot better, but not to much so that new readers would get overwhelmed.Ā
Do note that the first SCP written for every Series (except Series I) is going to be the thousand slot. So for Series III, 2000 is going to be the first SCP written for that Series. The first slot in every Series (again except I) is decided via contest, where authors are given a theme to write an SCP around. So expect the first slot in every Series to be much more heavy than others within the Series. Contest entries that donāt win still get to have a slot in the Series, so you may run into a contest entry while reading a Series!
Thatās pretty much the basics to getting started reading SCPs on the wiki! You can explore official canons (basically different what-if scenarios or settings for the SCP universe) and other things as you read on. Maybe one day, you could write an SCP as well! The standards are high, but thereās a ton of resources on the wiki to help you write a good SCP.Ā
Happy reading!

alright, yall seemed to have liked my SCP reading guide! :D I loved seeing your opinions on the subject so I wanna know if yall want me to cover some other aspects of the SCP Universe
In the mean time, hereās my opinion on some of the most recognizable SCPs.
049 - My first love. I loved the mystery ofĀ āThe Pestilenceā and this was even before the re-write. Overall great 8/10
055 - We have a 055? In all seriousness, this oneās iconic for introducing the antimeme. Pretty much required reading. 10/10
079 - Only relevant because of 682. 3/10
093 - One of the few Series I articles with substantial story. One of my favorites of all time. 10/10
096 - Heās too shy uwu. Lots of story potential with this one. 7/10
173 - The very first of them all. In a way, this one could be considered the true SCP-001. As for my opinion on it, itās solid for how old it is. 7/10
610 - Did you want body horror? Iāll give you body horror. 6/10
682Ā - Oh? This one? This one can jump in a hole and die festering, freaking Mary-Sue-lookin-plot-armor-lizard. 0/10
939 - The better lizard, interesting concept too. Again, lots of story potential. 7/10
999 - HUG. WHOLESOME/10
