WHY YOU SHOULD WRITE HORRIBLY:
1. You’ll never write anything if you don’t

My toxic trait is that I write the outline of an upcoming scene and then my brain thinks I’ve already written the scene, so sees no reason to elaborate further

There are two ways to write a book:
1. Take every aching word said by the people you can no longer reach, every desperate wish from your younger self to be saved, everything you never got to say or do, every terrible thing about you that you keep hidden even from yourself, everything your parents said (and everything they didn't), and lay it bare; carve your soul out with a blade and use the blood as ink to fill the pages until your book no longer just mirrors you—it is you.
2. Lmao vibes

Oranges and Rosemary
(A prompt-idea-thing I did for characters that no longer exist :,D)
After a long day of work, she opens the door to the apartment she shares with her friends and slips inside. A glance at the clock on the wall reveals that it’s already past 2 am. Shrugging out of her jacket in the near-dark of the living room, she lays it on the couch, along with her bag and shoes, and heads into the bathroom to change into her pjs. Her black tiger tail trails behind her, her matching ears lowering as she yawns. She glances into her friend’s room and smiles at her sleeping form before turning and padding into the room she shares with Serria. She finds her huddled under the covers, her breathing deep and slow. Her smile turning soft, she climbs into bed next to her and pulls her close, breathing in Serria’s comforting scent of oranges and rosemary as it lulls her to sleep.

Figuring out your OC's 'voice' and physicality/characterization
I often struggle with creating distinct characters, so I came up with some questions about your OCs that I haven't seen in any other lists.
I recommend answering these for each character once you've already spent some time with them on the page.
What irks other people about the way they converse?
What kind of conversations do they usually have?
Are they a good listener?
How do they react to confrontation?
How do they react to being corrected?
How do they correct others?
Do they tend to speak in long sentences, short & clipped sentences, or somewhere in between?
How likely are they to heed social cues when talking to others?
How likely are they to use body language rather than words to express discomfort and other emotions?
Do they care more about getting their way, or more about how others feel?
What's their favourite skill?
What niche thing are they competent at?
What trait immediately draws them to other people?
What trait immediately repels them?
Even if they haven't met (or even if they're not even in the same universe!), what would your other OCs' first impression of them be?
What makes them angry?
What makes them sad?
What makes them happy?
What's their posture like?
How do they want others to see them?
How do they move through a room?
Do they prefer being barefoot, and if not, what kind of footwear do they usually like best?
What kind of climate do they prefer?
What would make them distrust somebody?
What would they consider the greatest betrayal?

I love when you start reading a book and you're not even 5 pages in and you already just know it's going to be an amazing book

Here's a writing tip for when you don't have any motivation to write.
When you feel like you don't have enough motivation or you don't like the way you're writing at that moment, open your notebook, your drive, your word, wherever you usually work on and just write.
Anything. Write about anything that comes to your mind.
You can look the crack of the vase on the table and write about it. You can look at the clouds, the sky, the droplets of rain on your window.
Anything.
Because you take an ordinary object or situations and give meaning to it with your imagination and creativity.
This has helped me a lot and I hope it helps others too. <3

nobility titles (in order of importance )- writing prompts
empress / emperor - rules over an empire, composed of several kingdoms or countries. highest rank
king / queen - rules over a kingdom. could be a part of an empire, but still quite powerful
duchess / duke - rule over a duchy (a part of a kingdom, ex. a province or large territory). second only to the literal king and queen
marquis / marchioness - support dukes and duchesses, don't usually own territory
countess / count/earl - rule over cities. have their own castles. pretty cool guys
viscount / viscountess - rule over smaller lands, like towns or villages. they can also be the children of counts/earls and countesses
baron / baroness - the 'servants' of nobility. usually only people who have their own land + a noble rank.
⚜️.
princess / prince - the descendants of royalty
knight / dame - usually military folk with titles (addressed as "sir")
lady / lord - addressing anyone below the rank of queen / king (unless their title is princess / prince)

Welcome to My Writeblr Domain!
I'll be honest- It took me a while to finally take the steps to make a writeblr blog. It might not get noticed, but it's a New Thing, and why not? Seems fun!
In this blog, I will repost interesting/helpful posts, memes, and share some of my own work as well, if I can gather the energy to write more seriously. Crossing my fingers!
Now, onto the interesting parts.
About me: Hi, I'm Gav! My pronouns are she/her, and I'm eighteen. I hope to travel the world someday, and spend most of my time writing in a text-based roleplay with my friends, and by writing little short stories/prompts. I write fantasy mostly, along with romance, but I like to experiment in different genres, included but not limited to: futuristic, medieval, thriller, etc.
My WIPs! The Phantom Dagger - A medieval fantasy with a touch of romance and five main characters. They face darkness that could devour a world, and a prophecy that could save it; though not everyone believes the prophecy brings good will. The main characters include: A shapeshifter with ice in her veins, a dark knight with a mysterious past and his companion, a woman who can't speak, a shunned dragonborn and his pet, and a woman with an inventor's mind, hoping to find somewhere she belongs.
I don't actually have a name yet for my other WIP, but it's a modern fantasy. The main character is Arri, a Volucer, or winged being, that carries a terrible secret after an attempted murder that has her thrown from her realm and onto Earth. She meets a man there who isn't quite what he seems, and he helps her make a new life on Earth, where she tries to forget her past and the secret she carries. Meanwhile, a childhood friend, certain she's not dead, searches for her, willing to risk entering Earth to do so.
...Then, I have a bunch of character ideas with no plot or story to their name :,D
