Bringing the campsite home. This is still the best firepit I've found and I wrangled it straight out of the washing machine

North Coast NSW June - July
The beautiful north coast NSW will remain a favourite for us. There’s something about it that draws you in...lucky for us it’s not too far away from home.

QLD June 7th - 14th
We breathed a sigh of relief when we could finally swim in the ocean again without fear of crocodiles. We camped at Bingil Bay, an awesome spot right on the beach but we copped some pretty strong winds and rain there. From Bingil Bay we travelled down the coast to spend some time with Kate and Cam and the gang in Yeppoon. We will definitely do a proper trip to Queensland when the weather is better so we can explore that beautiful coast line.

The Gulf of Carpentaria via the Savannah Way
5 days of driving, average of 6 hours per day, a whole lot of red dust, a whole lot of nothing apart from corrugation and the odd creek crossing...this was our Gulf experience. Next time we do that Mike will have a boat and I won’t be there ;)

DARWIN and Litchfield National Park NT 26th May - 7th June
We were told about those Darwin sunsets and yes, they were quite spectacular. The colour of the water was incredible and very tempting for a swim but alas, the crocs kept us out of the sea this time. We explored Litchfield National Park on the way out of Darwin which was definitely worthwhile. The waterfalls are all pretty wonderful and great for a swim on a hot day. The highlight for us was the 4WD track we did to help out a few broken down backpackers. Mike drove us through some pretty sketchy creek crossings, and the sun was setting which added a whole other element of excitement to it! Luckily we made it through with no car problems and no crocodile encounters!
