THE EVERVALE LOCKLAND FIC I PROMISED IS HERE!!
In which Victor loves to annoy the shit out of Eli (the usual).
It was past the time of sleeping, but neither of them had any intention of doing so. Victor was studying for the anatomy exam next morning, and soft whispers could be heard coming from Eli's lips. He moved his chair back, the drag of it against the floor making a loud creaking noise that made Eli look up.
"Nothing," Victor said, but his eyes were fixed on Eli, on what he was doing.
"Like I believe you," Eli tried to focus on his praying, on the feeling of his palms pressing together and his fingers crossed together, but he was becoming acutely aware of the other's gaze on him.
Victor didn't answer, and the silence seemed to extend on forever. His eyes were cold and observant, examining his roommate as if he was nothing but a sample.
The situation was begining to get on Eli's nerves, so he took a deep breath, one that he was sure Victor had noticed, and sighed. He didn't like giving the blonde what he wanted, didn't like showing him the emotion he seemed to want, but he had a way of getting under Eli's skin.
"Are you gonna tell me what you want?" He couldn't help the scoff he let out.
He could see Victor's lips pressing together in a thin line, surely holding back a mocking laugh, or at least a cruel smile, the kind of reaction he had grown used to get from his friend. Victor envied Eli on his ability to lie and hide his true feelings, and although he may like to believe that he was decently good at it, Eli wasn't buying it.
Knowing Eli had already noticed his amusement, he smiled teasingly, something he hoped would rile Eli up. "What would I want to tell you?"
"I don't know, that's what I'm asking," he snarled. If Victor wanted to be matter-of-factly, he would be too. It was always like that with him, a neverending game of teasing and annoying eachother.
"I'm sure you already know what I wanted to say. You know what I think about your... beliefs," he had to bite his tongue not to call it superstitions, not wanting Eli to get too annoyed and start ignoring him. Eli's attention was hard to attract and even harder to maintain.
"We've been over this, Victor," his voice slightly shook in what the blonde could only hope was contained emotion. He wanted to see him snap, to see his annoying facade break even if only for once. He wanted proof that they were the same.
Truly, the wavering in Eli's voice had been solely because of not concealed frustration. "Nearly every day. Can't you just let it be?"
Victor's sneered, his mocking laughter spilling out even if he hadn't meant it to. "Why stop, Cardale?" Eli's eyes glared with something Victor couldn't interpret. "It's just so fun."
Sensing he had crossed a line, he retreated slightly, softening his tone and leaning back on his chair. He didn't particularly care about hurting his feelings, but it wouldn't help him achieve what he truly yearned to witness. "What are you praying? The typical lord's prayer?"
Eli didn't answer, and he felt a wave of disappointment coursing through him at the realization that he had lost him. Eli's dismissal made him feel worse than he had expected, a feeling he refused to acknowledge. But he couldn't let his friend get under his skin! He was supposed to be the only one doing so! Bitter, he turned back to his book, trying to study again and ignore his still wandering mind.
A mumbled scoff from Eli made his thoughts pause, his own attention diverting to Eli.
There it was, that expectant look in Victor's face, the way his eyes lit up ever so slightly, the creases in his brow from his permanent frown smoothening. He was like a different person for a moment, and despite it all, it tugged at Eli. It made want to punch Victor in the face for being so frustrating, but also made him consider giving his friend exactly what he wanted, if only to see that expression again. How could he get such a reaction from Victor again?
He decided to mimick Victor's strategy and try to anger him back. "Better than being an asshole," he scoffed, a little too harsh, too loud. The words felt foreign coming from him, silly, like a toddler attempting to say big words. But to his relief, Victor didn't seem to have noticed, surprised not by his words but by the raise of Eli's voice. In all their time as roommates, together, Eli had never raised his voice, and he felt as if that moment of tense silence held some deeper meaning. With Victor, he found himself wanting to scream and scream, until he got rid of his anger.
After considering his words, Victor answered: "cause you're just so kind and generous, right?" He was amused, but most of all, invested. He walked up to Eli, until he was standing just in front of his sitting figure on the bed.
The sight of Victor's closeness made Eli's mouth go dry, and he stood up to be at his same level, reveling in the height difference. It was small, just a few inches, but having some kind of superiority over the blonde devil made him feel a little more relaxed. "You're a real piece of work, you know that?" He didn't know what he was doing, what he was thinking, and before he could really think about it, his hand connected with Victor's cheek in a harsh slap. He sucked in a breath, feeling something like regret. No, it couldn't be. He felt stunned by his own action, as though his mind and his body were disconnected. His eyes were fixed on Victor's, who didn't look away either.
After what seemed like hours but was probably just seconds, Victor reacted, bringing his own hand to his cheek, as stunned as Eli himself. Slowly, an impressed smile crept onto Victor's lips. Eli had been bracing himself for the worst: for Victor's anger, for being slapped back; or even for something funnier, Victor getting annoyed and leaving without a word. For everything and anything but for Victor's pleased look.
"What got you looking so funny? You believe yourself a comedian?" He grabbed him roughly by the shoulders, wanting to shake some sense into him. He was so used to people giving him clear messages, to have some kind of guide on how he should act, but Victor wasn't people, and it made Eli feel out of control.
Victor wouldn't usually let himself be manhandled like that, but he was far too surprised, too satisfied with Eli's outburst to even care about the pain. He pushed Eli's hands away, his touch lingering for a little longer than he had meant it to. He just didn't want to lose the futile connection between the two.
"Wow, Cardale, I was starting to doubt you were capable of emotion." With that, he walked away, leaving Eli alone to his own thoughts.
English is not my first language and I barely proofread this so sorry if I messed it.

Oh Victor, you may have laughed, but you'd have been better off actually reading your parents' self help books instead of just crossing them out with Sharpies

I see people in hear theorising about Victor having had a traumatic past that explained his personality, but what about his death?
Getting electrocuted to death, waking up to find your friend and ex girlfriend dead and getting turned in by your best friend just to get thrown into a jail in solitary confinement for FIVE YEARS! Pretty traumatising on itself, don't ya think?

Ik Victor is asexual and all, but I fully, 100% believe that he'd agree to sex if it got him a chance to humiliate Eli

As devastating as it'd be, I believe both Eli and Victor should die at the end of Victorious (if Eli does get revived). In Vicious, Victor dies; in Vengeful, Eli does. Only fair that for the third book, both do so.
Also, it'd be the only way they ever get closure. As long as they're alive, they'll hunt eachother minds.
I think even Schwab mentioned that Victorious would be the final chapter for Victor, so if only Victor died and Eli was still alive, we'd be back at book 1.
Anyways, I hope their death is devastating and they die remembering their vow to remember each other forever. (Sorry, I love painful endings.)

Eli Ever is so delusional, it's so funny.
"I'm not a mass murderer, God gave me a mission. I pinky promise I'm not bad, I'm good, I'm a good man! It's just that all EOs are demons! (Except me, of course) Proof, you say? Uhh, so my ex in college, who was totally not insane to begin with, tried to kill me."

The amount of deaths that could have been avoided if Eli and Victor had sorted out their weird situationship in college is insane. Like, get over your communication problems

Eli suddenly entering the bathroom, going so dramatic in stopping Victor from sniffing coke to kill himself with "you aren't like this, victor" vibes will never be not funny to me, and I think the scene should be talked about more
"I'm only trying to protect you," explained Eli.
"My hero," Victor growled quietly.

I've been having mixed feelings about Evervale, cause as much as I love their ship, I hope they're not canon in victorious. For them to admit any kind of feelings would be so out of character fr.
