It must suck to be brandon urie and be constantly reminded that nothing you ever make with panic will ever be as good as fever and pretty odd and that Ryan Ross in his teens and early 20s was a far better musician than you and still continues to be adored. It’d keep me up at night.

the “I don’t smoke!” part in There’s A Good Reason

I really loved watching for this part in the summer tour videos, so it gets a whole post on its own yay. A fan (I think her name was Emma) had shared a video of her singing There’s A Good Reason where she added “I don’t smoke!” after the “nitroglycerin” part… and then P!ATD started adding some variation of her line to the same part of the song in mid-2006.

Sometimes several of the guys went for it, sometimes only one of them did, and sometimes it looked like they were all trying to let each other do it so nobody ended up jumping in haha. I’ll throw some other random examples from the summer tour in here: one, two, three, four, five, six, & the video above.

“Spencer’s band Panic! At the Disco was playing a show at The Willtern in Los Angeles in June 2011. I met Sarah Urie (now wife of Brendon Urie) backstage that night through mutual friends. I met everyone in the band that night EXCEPT for Spencer (he was busy talking to people at the label). A couple months later, I saw a house I thought would be nice to live in, but it was too big for just me; Sarah said Spencer wanted to move out of his house in the Valley and over to the West Side, so she suggested we live together as roommates. He and I sent each other emails telling the other about ourselves, and we agreed to meet up to go see the house. We ended up not liking the place, and the next day he left for tour. A couple months later, while having dinner with Sarah, she said, ‘The guys got back from tour last night, and their bodyguard said Spencer kept talking about some girl named Linda.’ I told Sarah that was funny because I had a dream about Spencer the night before. She told Spencer, and he said, “If she’s dreaming about me, then I have a chance!” He texted me at 2am asking if I remembered him, and we ended up talking for five hours until I had to leave for work. We went out on our first date later that week, and he asked me to move in with him two months later. We’ve been together for nearly five years now!”
