To all my Disabled friends;
fakeclaiming yourself will only result in the further deterioration of your health
I was having a good run of things with my physical health and thought to myself, "Maybe I'm cured!/ was faking all along!" Only to overdo it, and now I am in a pain flare up thats gotten worse as I type this out because once more, I ignored my symptoms the first time and am FORCED to do nothing until I feel better.
Do not wait until your symptoms are the worst they possibly could be until you pay attention to them. You are only doing yourself a disservice

its definitely a lot more of a hassle for testosterone but yeah, dont be afraid. it took like six months for me to develop really noticeable changes so go for it, youll know pretty early on if its for you. and worst case scenario its not what you want later but i see it as something i need right now to save my life now. if stopping saves your life then thats important too.
for whoever needs to hear this:
starting HRT doesn't have to be a huge momentous all-or-nothing decision. you can just try it like you would an antidepressant you've been informed of the risks of.
there won't be any immediate irreversible changes overnight. you can always stop, change your dose, change your delivery system, decide it's not the right time. you can even microdose if you want to.
you don't have to tell anyone. you don't have to announce it if you don't want to.
stop waiting for a perfect time in your life because it won't come.
stop waiting to reach a mythical level of certainty that never comes to anyone, for anything.
you've been thinking about it long enough. if you have the opportunity, just give it a shot. you're worth the courage it takes to make a change in your life.

literally feels like a myth that there are people who don't struggle with basic tasks like getting out of bed or going to the shops or seeing a friend for coffee. how does everything not feel like a painstaking chore for them. how do they have the physical and emotional energy every single day

sometimes i have this feeling with my own transition but also ive been on some kind of psychiatric medication for 16 years straight. i literally dont remember a time where i havent taken medication daily. and i feel pretty shit that i have yet another reason for doctors to prod at me but this is in its own way freedom from the fucking hell i didnt even realize i was in. really, if youre afraid of hrt because you dont want to be medicalized forever, 'therapy' (the kind fascists suggest aka conversion therapy) is also a form of intervention that has to be done forever. why not be happy instead?
calling trans people "forever patients" or w/e says a lot about how transphobes view disabled people as well, like yeah some people need medical intervention to live or to not kill themselves and sometimes they will need that care for the rest of their lives, sorry i guess
