Sofiya came prepared, pulling the sticks out next. bonfires and smores were her favorite part of summer but she couldn't trust this process to just any ole' stick. "That is just a damn shame, s'mores are one of my favorite treats. I'll even make them in the oven if I'm really craving it." she chuckled, handing over the supplies to the other girl. She had come prepared with both dark and milk chocolate, ready to indulge in a treat she loved. "Though, that's about the only thing that gets cooked in my apartment." she chuckled awkwardly remembering the firefighters she got called on her before. It was safer for everyone if she kept her cooking confined to the outdoors.

Cadence wasn't sure how she got pulled into the little crowd around the bon fire but she was glad she did. Cade hadn't been in Aurora Bay for a terribly long time and she'd spent far too much of that time alone doing research to find information on her birth mother. It was nice to take a minute to meet others in town and enjoy their company, especially since she'd been so homesick. "Sure, I'd love one." She smiled at the other. "I can't remember the last time I even had a S'more.

open / closed location: the beach/ anywhere a bonfire could be happening time: after dark @aurorabaystarter
Sofiya grinned as she looked around the group gathered around the bonfire. The flames danced and flickered, casting a warm, orange glow over everyone's faces. She leaned in closer to the fire, feeling the heat on her skin, and took a deep breath of the smoky air.
"Alright, who's up for some marshmallow roasting?" she asked, holding up a bag of fluffy white marshmallows. "I guarantee my roasting skills are the best in the group."

Sofiya saunted up to the bar, spotting her former coworer Eric loking a little lost in the sea of people. She could resist a playful jab at him after what seemed like forever since she saw him last. "Well, well, well. If it isnt my favorite emergency surgeon. She said, her tone playful as she appraoched, gin in hand. "did you finally take a break or are you on the lam?"
She nudged him with her elbow and grinned, clearly enjoying the moment. "don't worry, your secret is safe with me." She said with a wink.

where: the reef
who: open to all !! @aurorabaystarter
it was eric's first night out in god knows how long. a cancelled surgery and not being scheduled on roster provided a rare taste being out the sterile environment of the hospital. don't get eric wrong, he loved his job, but after weeks and weeks without a break at night eric wanted to have some fun — whatever that meant. cherry and joni didn't seem to be home at the house, so he'd walked into town and found himself at the favourite watering hole of aurora bay, the reef. three drinks in, the tension that had built within his shoulders and legs from standing over a surgical table for hours each week started to unwind. he looks around, drink in hand, looking for someone he might know in the crowd.

Location: ocean crest apartments Sofiya's attention was divided between her phone and the sidewalk ahead, feeling drained from the day. She stumbled slightly before looking up to see Denver standing in front of her, his gaze fixated on something in the trees. Sofiya's face turned bright red as she realized what he was looking at. "What? No, of course not," she said quickly, trying to play it off. "It's probably just some piece of cloth or something." She looked away from Denver, feeling a flush of embarrassment creeping up her neck. "I don't know why you would think it's anything else." Despite the tension in her voice, she tried to keep her tone calm, hoping to avoid drawing any more attention to the situation.

"Please tell me you can see it too." Denver was nearly pleading as he (most likely) looked like a damn fool squinting up at the tree. "I know it's probably a shirt, but it looks a little lacey to me."

As Sofiya stood in line behind Kalina, she couldn't resist chiming in with a lighter tone. "Oh, I've got the perfect answer for you - 'Jennifer's Body'! It's got everything you'd expect from a horror movie - a possessed cheerleader, creepy small-town vibes, and plenty of gore - but its humor is fantastic and some killer fashion. plus, between you and me, I'm pretty sure there's some serious queer subtext going on with Neely and Jennifer." Sofiya chuckled to herself, feeling a little nostalgic for her horror movie obsession of the past.

Kalina was out of her apartment for the day and she usually spent it walking around town without much purpose than to recharge her energy. She usually spent so much time in the apartment working on her projects and podcasts that she needed to get out a bit every once in a while. However, that didn’t stop her from always having horror on her mind. As she waited for her coffee of to the dude with a few others; Kalina let out a sigh as she looked at her phone. “ What movie seems like it’s a horror movie but it actually isn’t ?”

TW:mention of death
family:
Mother: Farah Khan Father: Unknown Brother: UTP Khan *a wanted connection will be going to the main for him soon*
Personality traits
+ dependable, perceptive, creative -Enigmatic, arrogant, naïve
Bio
As she headed off to nursing school, following in her mother’s footsteps, her brother was nowhere to be found. Instead of dwelling on their fractured relationship, she tried to distance herself from her famous sibling. It was easier to avoid the topic altogether, rather than confront the painful reality that she didn’t know/understand what caused the rift between them.
That rift seemed insurmountable when their mother became ill. Swallowing her own pride, Sofiya attempted to reach out to her brother for support, but to no avail. It had been too long, their lives too separate. After her mother passed, she tried her best to move on, even though the hurt and bitterness lingered.
Having gone through the difficult experience of caring for her mother in her final days, she realized how important it is to have someone by your side who knows what to do at the end of someone’s life. With a deep desire to be the support she didn’t receive, and to save people from facing the same uncertainty and loneliness she did, Sofiya became a death doula. Her natural compassion and personal understanding of death made her a perfect fit for the job, and she found fulfillment in  helping people navigate their final journey.
Sofiya's father passed away when she was young, leading her to become fascinated with death and superstitions. This resulted in her not having many friends her own age, but her brother and his friends always protected her. The two of them had plans to move to LA and become a famous brother-sister duo, but Sofiya broke her leg and was forced to stay in Aurora Bay while her brother pursued his dream.
After high school, Sofiya followed in her mother's footsteps and became a nurse, even though it was emotionally taxing for her. She thought she was doing well, but after her mother's sickness, which became her life, Sofiya feels like she lost who she was.
Despite the hardships, Sofiya has found solace in her hobbies. She has an encyclopedic knowledge of superstitions and folklore, which she uses to comfort people who are grieving or anxious. She's also a bit of a conspiracy theorist and loves to read up on strange and unusual phenomena, such as cryptids and UFO sightings.
Sofiya's passion for vintage fashion has led her to become a regular at thrift stores, where she finds unique pieces for her wardrobe. She also has a green thumb, something she learned while caring for her sick mother, and often tends to her garden.
Sofiya is known for her honesty and cannot tell a lie, which sometimes gets her into trouble. When she's nervous, she knits as a way to calm down. She's also a huge fan of horror movies and loves to dance to retro music.
Head Canons
-Sofiya is no master in the culinary arts. In fact, she once almost burned down her entire apartment building trying to make instant pudding. The firefighters who responded to the 3 AM alarm were far less amused than she was, as were her neighbors.
-After the death of her father, Sofiya became the glue that held her family together. Despite her young age, she stepped up to take on the role of mediator and support system for her family during their time of grief.
-Sofiya's knitting skills were born out of an unexpected encounter. After a Tinder hookup left her stranded at his house when he fell asleep, she ended up spending the night with his mother, who taught her how to knit. While Sofiya is only proficient in making scarves, she turns to the craft as a stress-relieving activity.
Wanted Connections:
Platonic: her older brother's high school friends / former coworker (medical field)/ childhood friends / dance partner / old hook ups mom Romantic: high school flame/ one night stand / tinder hookups / former blind dates/ enemies to lovers (bonus points if they are neighbors)
