Truly the most arrogant americanism is how "leftist" yanks are utterly convinced that living in the US makes them privvy to the true depths of evil, cruelty and depravity that the US government is capable of, which the silly foreigners who keep talking about imperialism and US foreign policy could never even begin to imagine, when it's actually almost universally the other way around.

Abdulrahman still needs your support
Last month, Abdulrahman @3bdulra7manosama tried to raise funds for this school year's tuition and other fees so he could continue his medical education. He was not able to raise enough funds needed but was able to find a generous donor who covered the rest.
[Verification: #4 in this post by gaza-evacuation-funds]
He is now using the same GFM to support his family still in Gaza facing genocide and starvation, and need help in meeting their basic needs.
His short-term goal is €5000. The GFM is moving very slowly, with no donations in over 3 days. Please consider donating and please keep supporting this campaign in any way you can.
€3,332 / €5000

Funds for Haiti and Haitian Americans
A Haitian American woman with long Covid and her daughter with cancer have both been struggling to raise funds that would help them during their illnesses. Both of them live in the Midwest, which is where a lot of the most recent fear mongering has been centered.
COJEHA is a Haitian organization that provides financial support for youth, teaches agricultural skills, helps ensure children attend school, and teaches other soft life skills. They're working on building a farm with fish and vegetable crops where teaching occurs, which will also increase local access to fresh food.
P4H Global is the organization that has been working on building the canal connected to the Massacre River, another agricultural project. They have also been working to support education in Haiti, with both teachers and students.
The Haitian Community Center in Springfield, Ohio. Springfield's food bank, community health center, and a local Catholic organization that provides aid are also accepting donations.
Richard Pierrin is a journalist who has had to flee Haiti and is trying to get a visa that will allow him to work, and that doesn't end after 3 months.
Marc Henry and his family have been dealing with food insecurity for months, and are trying to get funds so they can eat, as well as supplies like livestock and fishing equipment so they can sustain themselves even after the fundraiser is done. They're close to their goal.
An elderly couple's home was damaged multiple times over the last few years and they are trying to raise funds to finish construction. They are also very close to their goal.
A fundraiser for children in Jacmel to provide food, water, and clothes.
A fund for several families to secure plane tickets out of the country
OTRAH is an organization that helps trans Haitians and wants to expand their services to combat HIV. They don't have a gofundme, instead donations are discussed over email.
There is also this thread of Haitian gofundmes which updates fairly regularly
This document explaining the leadup to where we are now also names some organizations that could use financial support

luigi mangione, the SUSPECTED (innocent until proven guilty) united healthcare shooter, has been charged with terrorism. that’s right. a man who supposedly shot ONE SINGLE PERSON is being charged with terrorism. because in america, billionaires lives matter enough that a SINGLE rich man’s death is considered a terrorist act against this country. think about that.

Lmao the mother of one of my friends from high school apparently is now writing articles in Times Of Israel about “why The Irish hate The Jews”. As an Irish Jew who used to tell her to fuck off to her face, this is. Very upsetting but also funny. Because I’ve known she’s a fascist asshole for a decade

the ironic thing about liberals and anarchists who hate the soviet union is that i would be happy to talk for hours about its heinous crimes and catastrophic mistakes--but it turns out they never want to talk about support for the zionist project or ethnic deportations but instead about how those poor romanovs and kulaks were hard done by

I constantly think about that Adorno quote where he says that a characteristic of reactionaries is that they always behave as if they are speaking truth to power, that they are saying the uncomfortable thing that everyone secretly believes but are too afraid to admit, and they are at all times only repeating what is already widely accepted as true in society. And I’m reminded of this anytime someone smugly says violence isn’t the answer or radicals are all the same or this is what jorjorwell warned us about, repeating beliefs so hegemonic that not only do they not require evidence to be believed, they are treated as sensible wise things to say

The average US republican voter is exactly as close to becoming class conscious as the average US democrat voter is, which is to say that under normal circumstances, not very. During times of intense contradiction, the masses tend to become class conscious regardless of what their politics may look like on the level of minute differences between different strands of liberalism (the differences between these two voters are in fact minute). It's not at all surprising to see some US republicans cheering on the CEO assassination, even calling the things that health insurance companies do class conflict, because ultimately as proletarians they are able to understand their class position when it is made clear by antagonisms in society. You're not any better than them just because you voted for the blue imperialist capitalist instead of the red one, stop acting so surprised that they can understand the fact that they are being blatantly abused by health insurance companies. They are actually real people who rely on healthcare and not just robots that say Bad Things (supporting the wrong imperialist), they are perfectly capable of becoming class conscious under the right circumstances and with the right revolutionary leaders
