A thought just occurred to me: Joel Miller having the hiccups. I knowww Ellie would have the time of her life and would laugh so so fucking much every damn time he let out a hiccup. And idk why but to me it looks so fucking funny Joel all big and strong having hiccups lol. And if Tess was with them, she'd try to hold in her amusement, but eventually Ellie's laughter would make her break. And Joel would just be like "ugh, seriously?" at them

"Oof... hick!" Joel grunts, his massive frame jolting with the sudden hiccup.

Ellie giggls. "Sounds like we got ourselves a case of the hiccups, mister."

"Oh, hush, kid." He mutters, rubbing his chest. "Ain't nothin'."

But another hiccup escapes him before he can stop it. "Hick!"

Giggling turns to outright laughter now as Ellie doubles over. "Oh my gosh! You sound like a freakin' horse!"

Tess, walking ahead of them, stifles a grin but keeps her eyes forward. Poor man. Even the toughest of them can't escape the indignity of hiccups it seems.

"Hick, hick! Dammit—" Joel tries to scowl at the girl, but she just laughs harder, holding her sides.

"Hee hee hooo! Oh man, I wish I had a camera, I'd take a picture and make you put it in your wallet!" Ellie cackles, tears of mirth pricking her eyes.

"Laugh it up, squirt." Joel grumbles, but a smile tugs at his mouth despite himself. Her joy is infectious, even to a gruff old soldier like him.

"Hick-hick-haaa!" He makes a silly face and Ellie shrieks with laughter again. Tess finally dissolves into chuckles behind her hand too.

"Alright, alright, I'll shut up." Ellie gasps, wiping her eyes. "Just gimme a second!"

This is what would happen if Joel had a cat

He would definitely be the kind who doesn’t want it at the start. but after some time we could see them together all the time.

Joel would play guitar with the cat on his lap, drinking coffee with it on his shoulder, he would have a special pillow on his bed just for the cat to sleep on it and Joel would make sure that it has the best food.

can't stop thinking about how gentle joel is towards the people he cares about. the man is big and strong, looks mean, can easily kill someone with his bare hands... but when it comes to sarah or tess or ellie he's just so gentle, so careful, the way he touches them and holds them just exudes comfort and safety 🥺

Everyone he loves is like a fragile china to him.
