like, through Nona we get the story leading up to the end of the world. his genocide, anger over the trillionaires, the degree to which he manipulated his friends in order to keep them on his side. but he doesn't talk about the resurrection, all he talks about is what leads up to it: nuclear extinction, the death of the solar system, trillionaires escaping, crafting the body for Alecto, etc.

when he's asked about the resurrection he talks about how "the cost was too great" and even the neo-niners were just kept on ice for the myriad. plus, "John is a lying liar who lies". he doesn't even resurrect his daughter (though the issues of invulnerability serve him more), but instead grasps whatever is left of her soul and shoves it in a corpse, like his creation of Alecto's body. the most he demonstrated was the ability to create a revenant.

there's something that nags at me over this, because John's power isn't his own, it's Alecto's—given and stolen, the ability to wield it for massive solar system level extinction events by consuming the soul of the earth isn't the same as a practiced skill.

this is all for fun, but I do think John is taking credit for the resurrection as part of his myth, his ego. I'm tempted to say Alecto pulled it off and he took the credit.

also, I'm probably wrong and someone's gonna slam down some citations. please do it, hit me with some theological parallel for funsies too.

it's really weird coming out of a fog. like I've mentioned a few times that I haven't made music in a year or so. I sold a good chunk of my equipment when we left Boise, bought a camera and thought I'd put my media degree to use.

terrible idea, I don't wanna shoot or edit video. I just want to record and edit audio, but people don't pay for that as a skill any more. so I sold the camera earlier this year and paid down some debt we accrued from the move. and I still didn't want to play music.

a couple weeks ago my meds leveled out; my HRT isn't putting me into PMS levels (where I had been for 3 months) and my mood stabilizer is stabilizing. and then I wanted to make music.

I don't have most of the equipment anymore, my instruments need TLC, my interface is barely functional anymore and I am so, so happy.

my creativity in general is coming back; I started writing fanfic again for the first time in 20 years, I'm trying to solve audio problems and develop solutions to test at work instead of going along with whatever gets me through the day.

so here's to 36 bars of pretending to write art-pop jazz bullshit, some really gay fanfic, and the hrt and mood stabilizers that save my life every day.

I've been wanting to hop off Google services for the last few months and this is a very nice alternative to Google docs.

there's no mobile app, but fun fact for any mobile users who dislike using their web browser and tracking tabs: several browsers will let you add a site to your phone's home screen. on Firefox it's literally titled "Add to home screen" and gives a handy shortcut. Ellipsus opens without a new tab unlike some other shortcuts. looks like this

Everyone: Please please please don't write your books in Google Docs. Frankly don't use Google Drive for personal stuff.
