[Life Update] September 2014

First of all - new job! Hooray! I'm now working at my friend's marketing and design company. My main job there at the moment is website design, but we do lots of things from logos, business cards, brochures ... all kinds of things! So if any of you guys have companies that are interested in commissioning that kind of stuff, hit me up!

I am really happy that I have a new job. A part of me is stressing out over learning all the new skills I need to know for the job and the fact that now I have a lot less time forworking on my own projects than what I had, but the feeling of not being constantly stressed about money is far outweighing the negative. I just need to put in 100% now and use my time wisely! If I stay focused and don't let things get my down or get in my way I can do this!! I'm really excited for the future!

As for conventions, I'm really on the fence if I want to do ConFurgence or not. Part of me wants to to have fun, but part of me says "I would rather use that time working towards my dream than working towards a convention that will come and go" Maybe I will just go to attend? But most of my friends in the furry fandom will be at their tables all weekend, so ... hmm. I need to think about it more.

Also commissions are now closed! As I'm doing fine with money I can focus all my drawing time on stuff for myself and for my game project. Also commissions take me a really long time compared to what I make off them, and time is something I don't have a lot of at the moment.  Trades I'm going to leave open for now because I don't get too many of those so I can manage them ... but be aware that my side is going to take some time! I'm also going to continue doing ACEOs through the Facebook group.

Haha, I have also being learning how to drive! As I type this I am waiting for my driving instructor to arrive so I can have another lesson. If you follow my Twitter or Facebook you might know that already! I can't say I'm really a natural at it, but I want to get my P plates and my own car so I can be a strong, independent Snack who don't need no chauffeur.

[Life Update] July 2014

Hi everyone! I haven't posted a journal in a while, so I thought I would give you all an update on whats been happening in the life of Snack. 

First of all - conventions! Last month I had a table at Supanova Sydney, and I had a blast. My first convention I had a table at was MiDFur in 2012, but Supnanova Sydney in 2013 was the first convention where I really put a lot of effort into making things to sell. Looking back and comparing to how I went this year, I feel like I've really learnt a lot!  However, I've decided to take a break from doing most conventions fora while. What I really want to do is have more of my own IP on my table, rather than just fan art. Fan art is fun, but its not really something that you can grow upon. And drawing all these other people's IP makes me feel like ... I want to draw my own! And I want to share them with every one!  I am working on a project with some friends that hopefully I will be able to show you guys before the end of the year, and I also have ideas of my own that I want to work on. When I start having tables at conventions again, I'm going to be having more of that!  (Ah, sorry to the people who want Pokemon/MLP/other fan things. I hope you will take a look at my new stuff anyway! ; w ; ) _____________________________________________ Also, while I'm not going to be having a table at cons, I'm still going to be attending some! I'm really looking forward to SMASH! next month! * w * I want to make a costume for it, but we shall see if time and money allows for it. Other cons that I want to attend are Oz Comic Con in Sydney and Supanova in Brisbane. I might be helping my friends at their tables, such as at Sydneigh in Sydney (I don't know if they got an extra pass though, so thats a 'maybe.') I'm also thinking about having a table at ConFurgence in Melbourne. That one is mostly taking commissions, and maybe I could make some cute animal themed buttons and goodies.  _____________________________________________ I'm also starting to look for a different job. I really like my job at the bowling alley, but they just can't offer me enough shifts for me to comfortably support myself anymore. I'm really nervous about learning a new system at whatever it might be, but I guess that can't be helped! It would have been nice if I could live off my art, but that can't be a reality right now. One day! _____________________________________________ Commissions are back open for anyone who is interested! I have some new items, so check it out!
