I am a pebble, rolling in the aching surf. I used to be a boulder.

And I do. Somedays more serenely than others, but alive and grateful. #iwanttofeelalive

Looking back from the foot bridge over SE Powell and 14th. Such grey skies on such grey days. Still, my heart is hopeful. All gratitude to my neighbors and others, community wide, who have made this a priority. We all have a right to breathe and eat and play outdoors and not get sick. Bottled water is sent to the poisoned people of Flint. What will they send to the poisoned people of Portland, Oregon ... Boxes of air?

We saw this poem posted in a small one poem at a time curated front yard display. I love you, #Portland! Your Catfish Friend If I were to live my life in catfish forms in scaffolds of skin and whiskers at the bottom of a pond and you were to come by one evening when the moon was shining down into my dark home and stand there at the edge of my affection and think, "It's beautiful here by this pond.I wish somebody loved me," I'd love you and be your catfish friend and drive such lonely thoughts from your mind and suddenly you would be at peace, and ask yourself, "I wonder if there are any catfish in this pond?It seems like a perfect place for them." by Richard Brautigan
