Happy Hump Day Y'all! I read this morning that 49 out of the 50 states in the US have snow on the ground right now... well we've got more than a dusting where I am. The snow is still falling RAGING outside right now and I'm dreading my trek home.

My cure of the blizzard blues? A song with a hot beat that takes me back to the weekend I spent in Paris right after this CD came out... anywho this week's Hump Day Hit is Gold Watch by Lupe Fiasco. While Lupe shamelessly name drops throughout this whole song there is something about it that I just L-O-V-E. It could be the vibe I get from the beat or the subtle FU that Lupe's sending out but this song has been on my playlists since I got the cd (day 1) and I don't have plans of ever out growing it.

Sit back, cuddle up in front of a blazing fire, and watch the snow pile.

It's the first Hump Day Hits post of 2011! WooHoo! I don't know about you all but this week was tough. It's always so hard to come back to the real world after an extended holiday break. If you're still on vacation... enjoy every minute. If you're like me and trudged your way though Monday, Tuesday, and are anxiously counting down the minutes to 5 o'clock then this song's for you.

Nothing helps me unwind and sluff off the negativity like Slightly Stoopid. Their songs immediately transport me warmer months and relaxed times with lovin friends. That all being said this week's Hump Day Hit is This Joint by Slightly Stoopid off their Closer to the Sun album (if you don't have it... GET IT!)

This song just takes me back. The mellow vibes and melodies are irresistible. While there is no real video for this song it doesn't matter. I find the best way to enjoy this song is with your eyes closed, barefooted in the grass, with the sun shining down on your face. If your current location isn't conducive to bare feet and sunshine just sit back, relax, and let beat take you away.

Crank it up while you roll it up and enjoy the rest of your hump day

Happy Post-Holiday Hump Day! I hope you all survived this past week's holiday festivities, including the Blizzard of 2010. So far this holiday season has been jam backed with family, friends, and not enough time to relax! I know I promised that I would be posting only holiday music this month but after this past weekend I feel like my quota for holiday cheer has been exceeded.

So for all of you who wish your holiday could have been a little bit more relaxing and stress free I present you with Ray Charles's classic "Hit the Road Jack". I'm not sure why but this song has been on repeat in my head for weeks and I had to share it.

This one's dedicated to those relatives... err... guests who may have stayed a little too long. So kick back take a nice deep breath and relax. Enjoy the end of the holiday season and remember don't linger in 2010, it's all about 2011!

So as promised this week's Hump Day Hit is another one of my favorite holiday songs. Every time I hear this song I remember dancing around the Christmas tree to Christmas music with my little sister in footie pajamas. Not much has changed now that we're "grown-up", we still dance around the Christmas tree but it's usually after too many dirty Shirley's (our favorite holiday cocktail) and sans footie pajamas.

Released in 1970 by José Feliciano, Feliz Navidad (the album & song )were instant classics with both the Spanish and English speaking communities. It must have been all the nostalgia in the air but when I saw this classic holiday music video I couldn't say no! There is something wonderful about old school animation techniques!

So whip up a batch of your strongest your favorite holiday cocktail, snuggle up with someone special and enjoy what ever it is that ignites your holiday fire.

Happy Holiday Hump Day! This week snow has been flying and I've been getting into the holiday spirit. As I mentioned last week all the hump day posts in December will be related to my favorite holiday hits! This week I am excited to present Christmas Wrapping by The Waitress.

It's a poppy, kitschy, and so 80's that I can't help but LOVE it! While there were a variety of videos for this song I had to use this one. Imagine how long this took to master and how annoyed this guy's neighbors must have been!

String up some lights, deck some halls and be thankful the 80's are behind us. Surround yourself with the ones you love and get into the holiday spirit with some holiday greenery!

Happy Hump Day! In an effort to celebrate the start of the holiday season I'll be featuring one of my favorite holiday songs each hump day for the whole month of December!

For me nothing says Christmas like "Father Christmas" by The Kinks. This non-traditional Christmas Carol is one of my dad's favorite holiday songs and I have many a fond memory of dancing around the Christmas tree to this song. Since this is a classic there is no official music video but the audio and the twinkly lights are not to be missed!

So spike some eggnog, kick back on the couch, and enjoy the holiday hits.

Another week has come and gone which means it's time for another Hump Day Hit! I've had this week's hit stuck in my head for days, what can I say there's something catchy about a champagne swilling tranny. Yes, that's right this week's hump day hit is Lola by The Kinks!

This has been one of my favorite songs since I was a kid (thank you Dad) and every time I hear it I can't help but sing along, loudly. Since it's a classic there isn't an official music video but the one above offers up quite an interpretation. I have to admit that it had me laughing out loud at the office.

So kick back and relax with some cherry cola champagne and don't forget to cheers to Lola.

I know this post is later than usual, but today the week has been a whirlwind! For some reason I've been feeling the 60s a lot lately and in honor of that this weeks' Hump Day Hit is Neil Sedaka's Calendar Girl. I know it's a total throw back for most (if not all) of you but it's a classic either way. The song is catchy, kitchy, and more poppy than cherry cokes!

While the lyrics and the calendar babes are ah-mah-zing my favorite part of this video has to be Neil's dance moves. This guy has everything from the head bob-n-swivel to the faux soft shoe tap dance moves! Keep your eyes open for the hip shake at 0:21 I'm planning on busting it out downtown this weekend! I'm not sure what animal print and insane hair have to do with the month of August it's by far my favorite outfit.

So head home, call up one of your calender girls, sit back, and enjoy some hits on me. Hope Neil and his calender ladies get you over the hump and if not breathe deeply and remember only 2 more days to go.

It may be a bit later than usual but here is your HUMP DAY HIT! I don't know about you all but this week has been exhausting and draining. To help combat the mid week drain I present you with Monster by The Automatic, this week's Hump Day Hit!

It took a few listens for me to fall in love with this song, but now that I have there is no turning back. The Automatic reminds me a lot of the the stuff that I used to listen to in high school, but that's neither here nor there.

The music video for this song is phenomenal. I love everything about it; from the band jamming out in the back of an old ambulance, the faux facial hair and old school video game graphics. Everything about this song, and video for that matter, makes me want to air guitar in tube socks and my underwear on top of the stupid old couch in my living room.

So crank up the volume, bust out your Risky Business dance moves and round up your own posse of monster hunting friends! Enjoy the hits and remember to keep your eyes peeled for whatever may be coming over the hill.

Happy HUMP DAY! So this week has been very hectic and I am seriously looking forward to Hump Day Hits! This week's hit maker is Sam Adams (no, not the guy on the beer bottle or the one in the powdery wig) This new comer has a number of catchy electronica hip-hop hits out right now. Driving me Crazy is by far his most popular tune. If you dig it make sure to check out Coast to Coast (there's no music video yet but it still an awesome song!)

Earlier this afternoon I still I hadn't picked song to share with y'all when I received a Hump Day Hits dedication from my younger sister, (blazerella).

Her dedication struck the perfect note and I am excited to present The Humpty Dance by The Digital Underground. It seems like the perfect song for today.

It's Wednesday ergo I've got a fresh new Hump Day Hits video for your listening/viewing pleasure! This week has felt impossibly long and today sucked especially hard. For those reasons I present you with "Audience" by Cold War Kids.

I love everything about this song and video. The catchy beat, the subtitles, random shots of chic women in bold colors, the awkward underwater scenes, and the idea of spinning a globe and going where ever you land.

If you want to check out another great song by this band look into "Coffee Spoon" a bit more mellow and moody but equally awesome.

It's raining cats, dogs, lions, tigers and bears in Burlington today! However not even a deluge of wild and domestic animals can stop Hump Day Hits!

This week's Hump Day Hit is "In the Next Room" by Neon Trees. I love everything about this one, the colored film effects, the lead singers emo mohawk and the amazingly catchy lyrics.

It's 4:20pm on Wednesday, you know what that means, Hump Day Hits!!!

This week there was no contest. I've had Paris (Oh La La) by Grace Potter and The Nocturnals stuck in my head since I heard it this past weekend. I love everything about this video and this band! Grace is so talented and stunning! I love the black and white film, it just makes everything seem so chic! So turn up the volume and let yourself take in the amazingness.

It's that time of the week again; this week's Hump Day Hit is J. Cole's Higher!

I couldn't find a music video for this one so just turn it up and dance (no need to watch.)

I just got back from a long weekend (hence the lack of posting on my part) and while I was away I got lucky enough to get a rental car with Sirus satellite radio. I listened to hip hop nation almost the whole time. They had all the best songs from back in the day and a ton of new stuff like this gem by J. Cole.

This song has some classic one liners that it was a clear choice for this week's Hump Day Hit. So sit back, relax, and let J. Cole take you higher.
