the thing about the thropple is that if you put them in a relationship with each other all at the same time, every single one of them has the same base insecurity and that is like crack cocaine to me. elphaba feels like she doesn't deserve the other two because fiyero and glinda are too beautiful, too perfect, and one day they're going to realize that she's the monster people tell their children about and they will leave her behind. fiyero feels like he doesn't deserve the other two because he is literally just some guy next to the two most powerful women in oz who would topple literal empires for each other and one day they will leave him behind. glinda feels like she doesn't deserve the other two because she is a coward, she isn't brave like them, she doesn't deserve to stand next to them as equals and they will leave her behind. they put crack in this ot3 and brother im smoging it.

personally I’m Team Tiny Elphaba because I think it’s mad funny she’s this imposing and terrifying presence but also she’s, like, five feet tall and Glinda can easily tuck Elphaba’s head under her chin if she’s wearing high enough heels and Fiyero can lift her up like a sopping wet cat

its so funny to me that fiyero and glinda gets called out by elphaba in the most terrifying way, seeing the real them and not the front they put on, and goes "oh yes, i want her"

look, I'm sorry, I know the show doesn't say it explicitly but there is just no way Glinda is dumb enough to not figure out that Elphaba's death is staged

it's still just as much of a blow emotionally because Elphaba is still gone, and the consequence of Glinda’s choices is that she doesn't get to have either her or Fiyero in her life ever again

but like. she lived with Elphaba. She knows water won't actually melt her.

the real tragedy is that Elphaba is alive and Glinda knows and it doesn't matter.

The concept of Gliyeraba is so fucking funny bc Elphaba has spent most of her life being unloved by most people around her and then she gets to Shiz and now she has two idiots fighting over who loves her more.

honestly the wicked thropple genuinely devastates me cause as much as they are made for each other, they equally are made to fall apart in tragedy. there is no happy ending with the three of them together, but there's also no happy ending that is without the three of them together. there’s no such thing as a happy ending that doesn’t include the three of them together, not for their characters and what they've searched for within each other throughout their stories. but that could never be, and there is no happy ending for them (and I don't know what came first in that circle of suck). and it all works to tell the story, sure, of a broken system that wears down the people trying to live and love and make things better. but, fuck, their "love triangle" is actually just a doomed ecosystem
