PSA for Google Docs Users Migrating to Ellipsus

I figured out the simplest way to import a GoogleDocs document into Ellipsus that doesn't involve using a third party site or converter:

In your GoogleDoc: Click the File menu, then Download, and then choose the option for Markdown (.md).

It's that simple. Ellipsus has an option to import Markdown files, and it worked great. I started with this monster fic because it is the largest file I have. Ellipsus converted it fine, and I didn't even lose my formatting or headings. 😮‍💨

I'm gonna have to look into getting an external HD or a big flash drive, just to move everything to from the cloud storage at some point, as my Chromebook does not have the space for me to store everything on it (well over a decade of writing).

EDITING TO ADD: Apparently googledocs locking down your stuff for lewd content was debunked. Having backups and alternatives is still a good idea though. But it is a relief to know my stuff isn't in imminent danger. 😮‍💨

Jon Stewart discusses the horrific Genocide in Gaza with @peter_beinart on @thedailyshow last night, stating:

“I know what I’m seeing, and I have a moral clarity about what I’m seeing. And what I’m seeing, I think as someone who was raised in Judaism, that’s what taught me that this is wrong. What I’m seeing happening in Gaza is wrong.

“I feel like a crazy person. I feel like I’m watching something that is so self evidently inhumane and horrific and to be told that I have to shut up because I risk the Jewish state by speaking out.”

Peter responds:

“I mean, even Israel’s leading human rights organization, B’Tselem, has just come out with a report saying they believe this is Genocide.

“In Israel/Palestine, it’s Jews who all enjoy legal supremacy and citizenship and Palestinians who are denied basic rights.”

“For almost three months in this early this year, Israel cut off all food, all medicine, all water into the Gaza strip.

Jon asks:

“And when Donald Trump says something like “finish the job,’ what job is he talking about? What does that mean?

Peter:

“Well, I mean, the Trump plan made it pretty clear. The mass expulsion of all Palestinians from Gaza.

“So it seems to me, if we want to remember our history, if we want to honor those in our own families and of our people who were slaughtered and who were Genocided, who were starved to death while nobody in the world cared, our obligation is to care. Our obligation is to risk something.”

Amidst the Genocidal madness and violence Israel has unleashed on Gaza, we all must stand up and do everything within our power to stop this carnage, and fight for a Free Palestine.
