"oh, that would be lovely, thank you so much. even if you could just gather a stack of dark oak wood, it would be a great help. we've been running a little low on that recently, and it's sort of necessary - to rebuild the empire, that is," he chuckles.

"it's going well!" scott says, face lighting up in a smile. "i managed to find survivors after the rupture, and we've been rebuilding. making a government back up from the ground is a little tough, but a few of my old advisors survived, and they'd been bugging me about everything, so..." he sighs. they were always terrible to deal with.

"i've been almost running myself into the ground trying to make everything go back to plan, i swear! but the integral buildings, as well as the original castle, have finally been rebuilt, and i have a feeling that everything is going to be okay." hope bleeds into his words.

scott stares down at the note, and the tnt. a part of his brain that comes back from his training shrieks about how this is impolite, how it had been so obviously written is a sign that he should not respond. he wracks his brain with what to do - not responding would be equally as polite, but if someone is writing to him without care...

this is but a simple prank.

scott throws the letter into his fireplace, and throws the tnt into lava. if they are trying to dig up old memories, there is no reason why he cannot be equally as petty.

after our talk about travelling around it got me thinking that because ive chosen to mostly stay on hermitcraft and not travel as much, my cloak is going to waste.

i made this one by myself using an old cloak i had! I built in a heating system with redstone to help with colder weather and it is waterproof, sure to protect any clothes underneath! I'm not too sure how it'll fit on you but i'm sure it will work!

i do have a question for you - in the life series, how much do you remember of it? i know it might seem a little bit out of the blue, but i was talking with martyn the other day and the thought popped into my head, and i just can't seem to get it out. or do you - remember me in the life series, to be more specific?

does he remember the mean gills like Scott does? does he remember the nights they spent together like he does? does he remember the things they did together in the life series the same, too? or is everything different? has Scott forgotten everything?

he is afraid - that he hates to admit that he is - of asking. he wants to believe that they're the same. that they remember things equally, but martyn thinks his manner of speech is different, and he has always been this way, and-

asking would kill the little hope left in his chest. best not to do so.

scott mulls over his words before he speaks. "no, it's okay." he keeps it purposefully casual. "thank you for offering, really, but I'm okay." he straightens out his smile, makes sure it looks perfect and relaxed enough - to reassure martyn.

(a ruler always makes sure his subjects feel safe.)

"you're a good friend, martyn. i'm okay now. thank you for telling me all of that." he's lying. but he's a very good liar when he needs to be. because that's who he is (who is he? who was he?) - the 'him of now' - is a good liar. so he'll reassure martyn and make sure that his friend does not take on scott's burdens for him. that would be improper etiquette.
