It took her this long before her impression of the guy finally imprinted in her mind. Shallow, assuming and someone with a seemingly low regard for… well- anyone, in fact. She highly doubt there’d be anyone who could knock some sense into this guy, as much as she’d like to personally see that through. He had surprisingly close to no expectation from her replies; as if he’d know beforehand that she was going to respond with something none of his business. It was a good trait, one that she’d be better off picking up. After all, the more you expect from someone, the more disappointment you are going to end up with. It was a vicious cycle. Jinah rolled her eyes, exasperated at his little statement. He must have been out of his mind to even attempt suggesting a relationship between the pair. “Obviously not,” the girl answered tersely, emphasizing on the last word on purpose. Shrugging lightly, she raised an eyebrow before continuing, “Maybe I just want to make friends.” The Slytherin let out a soft sigh, “This might be my way around initiating friendships. You never know.”
“Curiosity,” she drawled, letting each consonant of her reply roll of her tongue slowly. The girl smirked and gestured to the guy. “You’re a peculiar character, I have to admit.” With a curt nod, she continued hastily; not allowing him to interrupt, “Curiosity, and I find you…” Jinah stopped short, the frown on her face was one filled with sadness that could not be mistaken; even though it disappeared in a heartbeat.
“-relatable.”
❝ contemplation — jinah & myungsoo
If her goal wasn’t to just get the information that she desired, then he honestly had no idea why she’d approached him in the first place. There wasn’t really anything else he offered, even he could admit that. Over the years, as he’d built this reputation up for himself, he sort of forgot how to function normally. At this point, it was just simpler to continue with routine, even if it supported this unhealthy lifestyle. He couldn’t break from it since it was the only familiar habit he knew. “More?” Myungsoo rolled his eyes sarcastically, quite dubious to her claim. “Unless you want to be my girlfriend or something, then I doubt there’s anything else you’d want.” His gaze traced over her again. She hardly seemed like the type to chase after him, so he tersely finished off, “And, that doesn’t seem like the case here.” Besides, when people interacted with him for anything from messing around to a real relationship, they didn’t bombard him with questions and interrogate him on his past from the very first second. Most people had the decency to make small talk at first.
This question was one he hadn’t been expecting. It was more personal, not really addressing his history. “I guess so,” Myungsoo responded with a halfhearted shrug. He didn’t favor dwelling on how he was treated by other people. It’s not like he was the exact definition of an angel towards anyone. “Why are you asking, anyway?” He wondered curiously, “Do you feel bad?" That would be a first for a Slytherin. Though, he seriously doubted that was the case. If anything, she probably pitied him. It wouldn’t be a shocker if she’d actually noticed him sneaking through her own common room either at the crack of dawn or some other strange and unruly time. It was a no brainer that he’d had sex with a member of her house hours beforehand, and it’s not like he appreciated the comments or looks he got whenever a student pieced everything together.

She hardly believed a word he said, and she made that pretty obvious from the expression on her face. One filled with doubt, wary and caution. She watched as he started undressing, albeit a little comfortably. It was as if he was teasing her on purpose. She could practically feel the faint tinge of pink creeping up on her cheeks, and the girl had to turn herself away physically to keep her distracted.
Within a few seconds, the guy managed to swim effortlessly towards her. The grin playing on his lips warned her of trouble, but she shook the feeling off. “I was about to reject your offer of swimming together,” she lamented with a quick roll of her eyes, her hands now perched on both sides of her hips. The place was pretty big, and if she had wanted to, it wouldn’t take her long to swim to another bank where she’d finally have some quiet time alone. But that would require having to swim back to shore, collect her clothes, and worst of all- do all of the above with her clothes drenched and clinging to her figure. Nope, not going to happen.
Jinah tugged at a limp strand of hair lifelessly, pondering about what they should do now. This was her first time having a partner while swimming, and truth be told, she had no idea what or how one could take a swim with another person.

What was it with people always thinking that he had something he wanted? Jongsuk didn’t have anything against Slytherins, but he wasn’t one of them; therefore, he usually had no ulterior motive. All he wanted today was to simply rest near his beloved lake and its water. He just happened to stumble across her, and a pretty swimmer girl was never one he’d run from. “I don’t want much, Miss Jinah. Just a swim.”
He made his way down the rock he sat on and walked towards the bank of the lake. “I’ll be taking a swim with you, alright?” With a smirk playing on his lips, Jongsuk kept his eyes on her as he unbuckled his belt and unzipped his pants. Luckily, he was wearing a Speedo underneath his clothes rather than just boxers—those were annoying to swim in. Not forgetting his shoes, he sat down quickly and untied his laces and shook off his shoes. His socks came next before the stood again and slipped out of his jeans.
Waving at the girl, he grinned and walked into the lake. The water wasn’t warm but it wasn’t too cold either, and he dove in quickly, even without his goggles. With swift, smooth movements, Jongsuk swam his way to the Slytherin girl, the light-hearted grin never leaving his lips.

“You don’t know me well enough, so I’d say that’s just a wild guess,” she responded, her voice lewd of any emotions. It was best not to let him know anything, lest he’d end up turning her into the laughing stock of the class. Her mind went into overdrive as she considered pulling out a spell that could make her not-ticklish for a minute, or at least- something that could stop her from bursting out into laughter or squealing. But she got none. A soft groan left her lips as she turned away from the guy momentarily, trying to hide the grimace that she couldn’t quite keep down.
She was just a millisecond slower than the guy who by now, already had his wand out and poised- all ready in position to perform the spell on her. Jinah stared at him doubtfully, unsure if he was going to succeed on her first try and also about her reaction she was going to give. She had done this once on another student before, just for practice’s sake. But it was one thing performing the spell, and another being the victim of it. They had to finish it up either way, and as much as she was unwilling to; her refusal would only mean how she actually was ticklish.
“You better get it done right the first time,” she warned, her eyebrows furrowed as she kept a strong gaze on the guy.

It just didn’t add up in her head. If he hadn’t wanted to stay in the room, hearing the sounds of the piano, the quickest way to alleviate the situation was to leave. But he held his pride in a death grip; which of course, the girl had nothing against. Just as long as it didn’t get in her way. From the way the grin crept up on his lips, she was more than sure this guy simply wanted to piss her off. To insist on letting his presence in the room known to her, to distract her from what she had been trying to do for the past hour or so. She was getting more annoyed by the minute; not as much by the guy keeping her company, but by herself and her inability to keep herself focused on the one thing she should be doing- practicing. Plus, this little row they were having turned out to be ridiculously childish. Reaching up to rub at her temples, Jinah let out a slow sigh; probably unheard by the guy who had his earbuds on.
The short gasp caused her to look up at Taehyung with a bemused grin curling at the ends of her lips. With a quick wave of her wand, she was pretty sure she could get the volume back up; blasting music in his ears again, but merlin’s beard- when did she start growing such mindless thoughts? It was probably from spending too much time with him. Jinah could practically see her maturity slipping out of her fingers as time passed.
“I’m not forcing you to,” she retorted, with a light shrug of her shoulders. The door was right over there, and if he hadn’t wanted to listen to her- for the umpteenth time, he could always leave. If she had to repeat that again, the girl was pretty sure she was going to end up slamming her face against the piano keys. She could faintly hear the traces of a loud, strong beat playing from the song he was listening to. She would not consider it a song, considering how loud and noisy it seemed to be. But, it was music nevertheless, and she had swore she would be a bit more open-minded when it came to that.
Swinging her legs out from the piano bench, Jinah crept up on the guy; her curiosity now piqued by the song. Without warning, the girl reached out and tugged on his right earbud lightly, letting it fall out before she positioned it into her left ear. She refused to meet the guy’s gaze, though it didn’t take a genius to figure out that he was probably angry. Perhaps shocked too by her sudden action that no one had been expecting. But no- she wasn’t going to apologize. There was nothing wrong with sharing a little music after all.

Even without needing to read her facial expression, he could tell that he was getting on her nerves just from her body language. But, then again, the bolt-upright posture could just be how pianists were supposed to sit. To be honest, Taehyung didn’t know a damn thing about what musicians were meant to be like. Maybe they were all just angry and stubborn people. He had to bite down on his lip to stifle a chuckle at the idea. The girl in front of him definitely seemed both.
Taehyung turned his head away to grin, a second after he’d lazily stretched his fingers along the keys. Asking her to stop would be too simple; too easy. And he didn’t mind a challenge. In fact he welcomed it. He raised a fist to cough into, discreetly covering the smallest of smiles. He turned back, making sure to hold eye contact with her to show that he could be just as persistent as she would ever be. With a tilt of the head, he smiled innocently. “Oh, sorry. Did I distract you?” He shrugged and lifted his fingers away, moving to cross them over his chest as he continued to lean against the frame of the piano.
The sudden influx of sound into his earbuds forced him to jump, letting out a short gasp. He silently cursed himself. That probably made him look a lot weaker than he ever wanted. His heart was already pumping noticeably faster and his arms had somehow uncrossed themselves to grip the edge of the wooden instrument.
That hit was definitely a sound of anger and annoyance. Maybe if Taehyung tried harder, then he could get the girl to leave completely. She could go cool off somewhere, while he could finally get to release the stress of emotions that were caught up inside him.
The Slytherin didn’t know how to interpret the tone of the girl’s voice. The sudden use of the word ‘love’ made him smirk. People never called him that. No one ever thought of him as a sweet person. No one had ever even fallen for him. No one was even interested in him enough to want to call him ‘love’. That just wasn’t a word to use for Taehyung, even if it was intended the way that Jinah meant.
Jinah was actually right. He could easily go down the hall and have a music room all to himself. But he’d already set eyes on this one, and that fact alone prevented him from changing his mind. He rolled his eyes and pushed away from the piano. “I really don’t want to listen to you.” He strolled over towards a small table on the other side of the room and set down his MP3 player, back shielding it from the girl’s view. — He’d be dead if she told someone that he had it. He selected a random song and whispered out a spell, letting the volume increase gradually until it was where he wanted, ignoring the girl who was still sitting at the piano, probably extremely pissed at him. His head automatically started bobbing to the beat and he grinned to himself, the music instantly making him relax.

Her head was now clouded with an overload of information that she could barely make out be it fact or fiction and she could soon feel the inevitable headache looming. She was going to have to take some time out after this ridiculously difficult conversation she was currently having with this guy. Myungsoo was hard to deal with- no, scratch that. He was insanely hard to deal with, being one of the most tight-lipped people she’s ever met. She’d think most people would be the least bit pleased with the interest she was showing in them, for one must be of a certain standard for the girl to even consider approaching. The guy fulfilled all the pre-requisites for that, and now- here she was, still somewhat unsuccessful in pulling out any more from him. Well, it wouldn’t be considered a total failure, seeing as to how she knew a little bit more than what she had started with.
“Figure you out?” The girl repeated, scoffing slightly. She had to bite down on her lips to prevent herself from commenting on that statement any further. He didn’t know her well enough, and all of these were just assumptions of what she actually had in mind. “Don’t you think there’s more to that?” Jinah questioned, her head cocking to one side as she folded her arms across her chest. It was a good question, one that she asked herself too. What would she get out of knowing this guy? Perhaps nothing worthwhile, but he could be a good acquaintance to have. That was a very big ‘could’ though; and judging from the way he was treating her right now, the Slytherin was certain he felt very much on the contrary to her. Humming softly, the girl let a few moments of silence fall between the pair before she spoke up again. “Are people always this shallow to you?”
❝ contemplation — jinah & myungsoo
In his opinion, there wasn’t anything worth mentioning about his birthplace. Even if he did immigrate to elsewhere afterwards, she’d only asked for the first portion of his life. It was also a conscious decision to keep the unfavorable details a secret, though. At this following question, he showed the first sign of hesitation. He could always smoothly lie and convince her that they were fine and everything, but that wasn’t very believable. Besides, he half wanted to tease her with the truth, since he had no intentions of giving her the entire story. “My mother’s dead and my father’s in Askaban,” Myungsoo drawled indifferently, offering a nonchalant shrug. That was something he’d come to terms with long ago, so it hardly stung to say it aloud.
The more he spoke to this Slytherin, the more disinterested he felt. She wasn’t fun to mess with and barely reacted to anything he did in a satisfactory manner. With his extensive relationships with the fellow members of her house, though, he knew it was a longshot that he’d get anywhere in this conversation. This thought made the abrupt apology very, well, confusing. Of course, he wouldn’t be taking it sincerely. “Oh, I think it’s exactly what you had in mind,” he responded knowingly. “The only reason you’re speaking to me is to figure me out.” That was his main issue. No one cared to get to know him, what he was past the forced behavior and monotonous tone. They all were just after something to quench their curiosity. After he did that, they were off. No one had once stuck around just to get to know him, not once. Even while he acted this way, a very, very minuscule part of him wanted that sort of attention.

[/flips her hair over her shoulder as her gaze sweeps across the music room yet again. Everything looked the same, except with the sudden new company that she hadn’t been expecting. Exhaling softly, the girl continued moving steadily closer towards the edge of the school grounds. Thankfully for the both of them, they hadn’t run into any trouble at all. It was rare for such smooth progress while sneaking out. This hadn’t been her first time, and the previous times- she had to explain herself to a couple of nosy students. It didn’t take long before they were off her case though- nothing a little spell can’t fix.
“I hadn’t planned anything actually,” the girl admitted, her lips turning downwards into a frown. All she had considered while coming up with this plan was that she wanted to get some time out. But, she hadn’t really thought deeper as to how she should her newly obtained free time. “We could grab lunch, grab some sweets for dessert and just roam around the area. How does that sound?” Her head cocked to look at the dark-haired girl, with a small grin tugging at the ends of her lips. Hopefully she was up to it, or Jinah was going to rack her brain to come up with something more exciting.
With a soft hum, she turned her head back towards the path the pair was now on, leading them straight into the heart of the quiet village. “Oh- and we’re going to reach soon,” she pointed to the buildings coming up front as her footsteps picked up unknowingly.

"God, tell me about it," Naeun groans, completely agreeing with the other girl’s statement about annoying pricks. Sure, most of said pricks were good-looking, but pricks nonetheless. Though groaning, Naeun was amused and even let out a short laugh, with the thoughts of the annoying prick slowly making its way out of her mind. She was determined to forget annoying pricks.
She took a deep breath when they stepped outside. The air was crisp and clean, the sun warm, with only the slightest breeze of Scottish air. It was the perfect ditch day, but Naeun wasn’t entirely too sure on how she wanted to spend it. She wanted to have fun, yes, but she didn’t want it to be complete mindless fun (at least not at that particular moment). Looking around, just for any stray students and furtive teachers, she released the breath she hadn’t realized she’d held in.
"There isn’t anything that I want to do specifically," she starts to say. The arm that isn’t locked with Jinah’s reaches up as her hand idly pats down any loose strands of her hair. "Did you have anything in mind since you were the mastermind behind this little trip?"

“Annoying pricks? They have way too many of that in this school,” she added in with a roll of her eyes. She wasn’t joking though. It seems as if the student body had been infested with annoying pricks, all similar to one another. Jinah has had to deal with a few of them previously, but she was just glad none bugged her as much as of late. “Of course, we’ll have fun. The two of us, hmm?” Jinah promised, or somewhat assured her. It would be fun; she had no doubt in mind. However, there was still a risk of getting caught by professors that bit at the back of her mind.
Shaking that thought off, the girl led the way and navigated through the corridors deftly; her footsteps were light and brisk. It was as if she couldn’t wait to finally get out and grab some time away from all the hustle and bustle of school life. The Slytherin looked to her side at her partner-in-crime, who had managed to lock her arms with hers now, with a small grin tugging at the end of her lips. Her hand raised and gestured to a zipping motion across her lips.
“My lips are sealed.”
With that being said, she reverted her attention back to leading the both of them out of the building and into the welcoming sunlight. “Is there anything you’d like to get from Hogsmeade?” If Naeun had something in mind, they could simply head straight to the particular store- or they could wander around. She had no objections to either, anyway.

Naeun headed towards the door of the common room with her head held high and only the ghost of a smirk on her lips. She moved her hand to open the door silently and wandlessly and stepped through, leading the way for the other girl, though she wasn’t exactly sure as to where Jinah wanted to go. Slowing her pace only slightly, Naeun let the other Slytherin catch up, and matched her pace. “Lead the way, Jinah.”
With a light laugh and a supposedly nonchalant toss of her hair over her shoulders, Naeun shook her head slightly. “I had a bad run-in with a boy. He was being an annoying prick, but whatever, I guess. I’m over it.” She released an angry huff, with the question of the boy’s name still wandering in her mind. “I’m definitely over it. Especially with the distraction our little trip’s making.”
Feeling a little more friendly, she stepped closer to the other girl and locked arms with the girl. “Our little trip will remain our little secret, roomie," she said, her voice almost a whisper. The hallways were not so surprisingly empty, with most students still in classes. Still, Naeun muttered a spell to silence their footsteps.
