what I don’t get is how people are totally fine with authors writing their fictional sixteen-year-old characters having sex, but the moment it happens in fanfiction—where they’re often aged up—everyone loses their minds??

like, an author will have a character turn eighteen with zero actual changes to how they look or act, and suddenly the freaky comments are totally fine?? Some of y’all need to stop playing moral police when half of you are just being hypocrites.

Shinobu is freshly eighteen and y’all do not hold back at all. She looks almost exactly the same as she did at fourteen—she definitely doesn’t look like an adult. The only thing that even hints at her age is her voice.

Personally, I’d be way more concerned about people who are attracted to childlike characters—like Elma and Kanna from Miss Kobayashi’s Dragon Maid—who just have “adult” slapped onto them so the weird comments are technically allowed. its much stranger than people liking adult-looking characters who just happen to be labeled as minors.
