I'll concede that they do share a certain resemblance, although time travel strikes me as a bit of a leap. Can you really think of no other reason? Why assume a nefarious reason, when an explanation as simple as a family resemblance would do?

I have many many questions for this world.

Something lead me to browse through Mr. @eddington-suggestions ‘s bio, and for some unholy reason there was a picture of a certain Captain Sanders. Neither do I know why that Сaptain had to “catch” Mr. Eddington nor do I care; something else bothers me.

Mr. @damar-suggestion suggested already, mocking as he was, that this Harris might have travelled into the future. I was never willing to find out anything like this, and I am at a loss now.

I had Phlox give me a full examination and he confirmed I was perfectly sane.

Opinions anyone? I would especially like it if Mr. @sloan-suggestion shared his opinion on this; I am far from asking for help from anyone from the Section, I do not even know what I hope for, but…

By weird, I'm assuming you're referring to the linear pip, which is not often seen on our uniforms. It is a special insignia, which I wear because I am the head of an entire Federation department; it becomes a part of my rank on my collar.

Don't you worry. They have no power over me, because I refuse to acknowledge their right to judge what they don't understand. They are misinformed, and misinformation is no threat to me. I am not obligated to defend myself from an opinion; after all, opinions aren't facts. They are entitled to think what they please about me, and I am entitled to disagree; no consensus needs to be reached.

Nothing they can say changes who I know you to be. They have no power over that either. Their malicious opinions will not influence our relationship. You have nothing to be afraid of.

Some people are quick to forget that during a war, crimes are committed on all sides, and that all participants have a hand in the atrocities. They are quick to forget the vast array of factors, personal and political, that contribute to the pressures that lead to conflict becoming violence. They dismiss accountability for some, and foist it upon others, because they need to justify their own roles, and need to view themselves as the ultimate good, to compensate for their neccesary evils. And history is recorded by the winners, with their own personal bias.

Nobody can judge you for what they don't understand, Corat. And then don't underst, because they don't know your motives, your intentions, where those went awry, where those were influenced by others, where things were beyond your control. But anger seeks scapegoats and targets.

I know that you not your mistakes, and so much more than public opinion. It's their loss that they don't see you, for the actions of an administration that you were the figurehead for.
