Alternatively, Todd staring at Neil while he draws not knowing the he’s the one being drawn, notebook open as writes pages upon pages of poetry about how it makes sense that he’s an artist because Neil is a work of art himself and how ironic it is that Neil’s the only one that can’t see it even though he’s the artist.

Cameron is definitely that friend who will go with you anytime you have to make up a test during lunch or see a teacher after class. He’ll help you go over your notes beforehand and even if he can’t wait in the classroom with you, he’ll wait outside until your done and walk with you wherever your headed after.

The first time he does this for Todd, Todd is very flattered, but also totally thrown off because he’s never had friends who just want to hang around him even when he’s not doing anything particularly interesting (not that he’s really had friends before period but whatever) so when Todd is like “I’ll see you guys later, I have to make up an exam in so and so’s class” and Cameron offers to go along, Todd’s like “No it’s fine. I mean, wouldn’t you just rather go to lunch with the others?” Cameron assures him it’s fine and that he could use the quiet away from the group to study and Todd is consequently very touched because he’s not used to having friends or people that care about him in general.

Since this is kind of Cameron’s thing, when Cameron has to go do that stuff (which is rare, but still happens), he has no one to go with him until Todd. Todd makes it a point to be that person for Cameron because he always likes when Cameron accompanies him and Todd learns how to be a good friend by observing his friend’s habits towards one another. Cameron never says it, but he’s touched that Todd goes with him and he’s happy it’s Todd because he actually knows how to be quiet so that Cameron doesn’t get distracted.

Neil is a pessimist who presents himself as an optimist while Todd is secretly an optimist who just appears pessimistic in an effort to protect his heart from inevitable disappointment, but he always ends up getting his hopes up despite himself.

I feel like if the timelines aligned, Pitts would be a big Sonic fan. Like, he would force everyone to watch the new Sonic movies in theaters with him and they’d be like “okay Pitts anything for you,” but they all end up enjoying them. His fav character would be Tails obvi, but he’d kin himbo Knuckles from Sonic Boom. Meeks also constantly gets into bidding wars on all the obscure Sonic merch on Ebay so that he can gift it to him.

Somebody should write a one shot where Neil works at a book store and this cute guy always comes in to buy poetry collections and writing guides and fiction novels and Neil tries to flirt/get to know him more, but this guy is really shy, so it’s takes a little while, but eventually the guy (who he learns is named Todd) opens up to him more and every time he comes in, they’ll talk about the latest thing they’ve read and eventually they upgrade to talking about music, school, their life, etc. Anyways, Neil eventually works up the courage to ask Todd out and he does so by gifting Todd a book that he’s annotated and, at the part of the book where there’s a love confession, Neil confesses his crush to Todd and asks him out.

There should also be a part where Neil’s like “Wow, you sure read fast. You’re in here like all the time” and Todd’s like “haha yeah,” but really he’s like drowning in books at home. He just likes coming in to see Neil (which he shyly confesses to on their first date).

Bonus points if like one of the poets works with Neil and teases him constantly about his obvious crush. Like maybe he works with Knox and Knox is like jokingly “Haha stalker much” cuz Neil can’t look away from Todd when he’s in the store cuz he’s just too cute and Neil’s like “You are ONE to talk.”

Or maybe it’s Pitts and Meeks and they’ll like recommend books to Todd to see which ones he likes so they can report back to Neil on his taste in books, but this totally backfires cuz Todd is too awkward to say no to any of their suggestions.

Or maybe it’s Charlie and he’d be like “Are you single?” and Todd’s like “um…yes?” and thinks Charlie is flirting with him which he is def not into cuz he has fallen head over heels for Neil, but immediately Charlie is like “Amazing cuz I know this great guy with fantastic cheek bones” and Neil is in the back like “Charlie, please.”

Cameron would act normal and be like “NEIL, stop ogling and stock these shelves.”

I am of the belief that Todd constantly starts questions or sentences, but then half way through thinks that what he’s saying isn’t worth finishing so he just cuts off his thoughts with “…nevermind, it’s dumb” and this drives Neil NUTS because 1) he always wants to hear what Todd has to say and 2) the suspense will quite literally kill him. Like, he HAS to know or he will die, so Neil will just bug Todd until he finally caves and finishes his thoughts cuz he can’t help himself.
