Unit 1 Assignment!

Task 1

Hey, I’m Rhys. My personal interests include gaming, cars, mechanics and music. Currently 17 years old. I create Phonk music on SoundCloud as seen below. I am currently into the Stranger Things series.

Task 2

Most people nowadays spend there time indoors, and as the pandemic hit, more people started staying indoors to stay safe. This also means more online shopping from people; websites like Asda, Morrisons and Tesco are all used regularly online to order groceries, mainly by the elderly. Mobile phones can be used to make these orders. And when the pandemic hit, video chats were used to educate students and speak to friends and family.

All pubs, libraries and clubs were shut due to Covid so people had raves at home and enjoyed themselves that way. without technology out communication would be very minimal; it also reduced how many people could meet in an area, meaning that community involvement was hard to attend.

There are more jobs in It now as everything now involves technology which means that more technicians will be needed to help with these. There are different types of technicians, some work on cars ECU’s, some on PC’s and some on Power Maintenance. And seen as technology is constantly evolving, machines are making products more efficiently and quicker.

The need for electricity has increased seen as technology requires more power, but windmills and generators are still used to passively create and maintain electricity while using a small amount to start them off. The need for raw materials is very high and the earth WILL run out of these supplies potentially leaving us vulnerable.

Copyright is huge in today’s world, music, movies and games all have copyright protection which stops people from stealing and pirating games from companies and selling them off for large amounts of money or potentially free and the company will start to lose profit. Large fines and prison sentences are handed out to people who pirate games, music and movies.

Copy and Pasting shows laziness and shows no effort put into coursework. Nowadays, machines have the ability to track whether a certain text has been copy and pasted or is put into their own words. Reports can also be made based off of a fake fact or bad opinion making them unreliable to some extent. If work is copied and pasted without credit, plagiarism is big here and can result in trouble.

Now with social media, everyone's account is public unless changed through settings. And with social media, you allow the companies to gather and share your data with others, with consent of course. Privacy is very minimal of social media as hackers and other companies can access this data without you knowing. ID theft is where someone impersonates you and can potentially make a bad name for yourself with out you even being involved.
