I love this so much. I tried to get them to make a spin-off based on the three women like a ridiculous Three Musketeers but it was a no-go.
a WHILE back I made this
Tumblr media
And since the novelmore fandom is more or less dead, I never posted it
BUT
Since @artist-des3ns1ty is reviving the fandom
Here are my favorite warrior girlfriends

2/2 You mentioned you were asked to rewrite the first season, I noticed there were differences between how some of the characters acted between seasons, is the way they are in the second season more in line to how they are supposed to be? Some of the characters from s1 were missing in the second season, do you get a list on which characters you can use in each season? how does that work? thanks for your time, have a nice day
When you work with toy companies, or existing Intellectual Property (the famed "IP"), you're generally given an idea of what they want the characters to be like. But some companies will give you more leeway. (For example, I got to explore more with Gwynn than I did writing Barbie, for obvious reasons.)
I am given a list of characters that they'd like to see in a season (usually associated with a toy), and then I'm also allowed to make up characters as well. And sometimes, even when there's a toy being made (like Falynn), I'm given the creative control to give her a personality. I wanted Falynn to be a contrast to Gwynn. I love the idea of a kick-ass, precise warrior, but she's got the personality of Phoebe from Friends.
But I also want the characters to grow and learn. They discover things about themselves, which causes them to change. Arwynn doesn't know everything. Gwynn can't handle everything. Dario can't fix everything.
Regarding the characters who are missing -- usually it's just an issue where their story is over, or there's simply not the space or time. Since the Raiders featured way more in Season Two, I wanted to make sure that they were fully developed characters versus just generic "bad guys."
Also regarding your previous comment about having more women in Season Two: that was something I advocated for, and I loved the idea of having an all-girl Novelforce that could go off and do their own thing. I also pitched it as a spin-off, but the chances of that happening are between slim and none. ;)

hello! fan from italy here! I just wanted to say that I really loved every episode of novelmore this season, everyone felt so real and human, I really loved that! also their relationships dinamics were really good! I have only one question: you talked about writing "13 episodes" even if with tomorrow's episode we will reach 14, was that one written by someone else or the studios is just strict about potential spoilers?
Oh, it’s not about spoilers! I’ve written all of Novelmore, I just forgot how many episodes there are because I wrote them awhile ago.

The season finale of Novelmore season 2 is up! So I thought I'd write a little bit (and give you a chance to ask questions/make comments.)
(Possible spoilers below.)
I was brought in to rewrite season one of Novelmore as it wasn't heading in the direction that they wanted. (This is not a knock on the original writers! It happens a lot in this industry.)
However, I only had three weeks to rewrite 13 episodes. So I had to work on the fly and inherited some story points that were too late to change (tho I tried to revise them a bit.)
When I went to Denmark to pitch season two, I didn't really have more than the character arcs I wanted to explore. Namely, Arwynn, Gwynn and Dario have gotten what they wanted. So now what?
Arwynn faces the realities of being a ruler, and ends up questioning why he should be the one to make life or death choices. Gwynn is finally being taken seriously as a leader, but the pressure of living up to the expectation nearly kills her -- and her wolf. (FYI, I would NEVER let that happen!) And Dario is finally taken seriously as a famous inventor, but discovers the responsibility that comes with creation.
I also always ALWAYS love a bad guy, so we got more with Pyralia, Lucifex and even Kahboom. Pyralia gets to have (kick-ass) girlfriends and be a part of something bigger than she is. Lucifex, the terrifying looking and sounding Raider, is the opposite of toxic masculinity. He's kind, loyal and in touch with his feelings. Kahboom is a complete sell-out, but deep down there's a small shred of morality (especially when the tide is turning.)
Flinton Spark is the worst of capitalism. He has no respect for anything but amassing power/money. The Raiders are merely a workforce to him, and the Novelonians will be the same.
And then there's Brody and Bayron. Bayron is loved by his men, but doesn't have the time or inclination to love his son. And Brody is terrible, but you wonder if maybe his dad wasn't such a knob if it would have been different. I struggled what to do with Brody. I didn't want to redeem him. But as I headed into season two, there were glimmers of hope for him. It became clear to me that there was a narrow path he could walk.
Got questions? Comments? Angry outbursts? Words of wisdom? Lemme have it.
And thanks for watching!

Hello!! I am big fan of novelmore!! I love the characters and the stories so much and the show is just such a good time! Truly made my november to have new episodes coming out :). I wanted to ask, it is somehow very hard to find information about who is working on the show and all (since the show doesn't really have an outro), which i find a bit sad. Do you know any sites that have you listed?? Or is it on the playmobil site and i simply didn't see??
Yeah, they don’t really show credits. The voice actors are on IMDB and the animation company is WilFilm (based in Denmark.) I wrote all the episodes. We’re all in different parts of the world so I don’t know everyone. If you’re trying to figure out something specific, let me know!

TFW you forgot a thing that you wrote and it makes you laugh all over again.
I wish that this show was being promoted more. But it’s not.
However, I was given pretty free reign to do write whatever I wanted. Which is why you get “patriarchal gender norms” *and* a Princess Bride reference in a single scene.
Anywhoooo...
Novelmore Season One
Novelmore Season Two
Also: Season Two is A RIDE. Hang onto your butts.

Here for it.
In Which I Propose A New Messiah, Revised
A serious problem faced by all religions is this: the believers, the faithful, the religious… they get far too caught up in the concept that their myth, their fairy story, their “bible” is REAL. It’s TRUE. As opposed to concentrating on the useful part: the message.
Ultimately, does it matter if the “New Testament” is true? Does it invalidate the message if none of that stuff really happened? Or is the important part the whole “love thy neighbor” thing? I don’t mean to pick on the Christians here. I don’t think it’s terribly important that Prince Siddhartha faced down all those demons, or that Moses’ staff turned into a snake. Metaphors are beautiful, useful, instructive things.
So here’s our first principle: how about a religion that does not insist on the truth of its fairy tale? How about a religion that insists, rather, that its stories are just that? Stories. Metaphors and allegories. Religion without supernatural faith. Faith placed in the individual’s desire to do the right thing, lead by a shining – and completely fictional – example.
Further, I’ve been thinking about the appropriation of the date and rituals of pagan winter solstice holidays for the Christians own shindig. Why not take a page from their book?  There’s our second principle: build our new religion on the bones of older, popular faiths.
I have celebrated “Christmas” every year of my life, but I have never once celebrated the birth of Jesus Christ. I have celebrated the redemption of Scrooge, certainly. The salvation of George Bailey, by his friends and neighbors. The message of love piercing the heart of the Grinch, enlarging it one size beyond the average. Charlie Brown’s friends learning the appreciation of the small and unloved, the meek if you will, as embodied by an ugly little Christmas tree.
As an aside, I think the residents of Whoville are the perfect post-religious Christmas celebrators. They call it Christmas, they clearly believe it is a time of love and celebration, but I don’t recall any visible Christian iconography in their town. Also, one might mention that the Whos have antennae: they’re not even the same species as Jesus Christ.
And let’s not forget Frank Capra’s Jesus: the false prophet John Doe aka Long John Willoughby… whose message was real, even if he was a fake, a corporate media shill. John Doe was prepared to jump off a roof to prove that the “the idea is still good.“  My favorite Xmas movie; a clear-eyed depiction of how hard it is to be a messiah in the real world.  "Lighthouses, John.  Lighthouses in a foggy world.”
Jesus Christ, as a figurehead, means almost nothing to me. But there is a great American myth, of a secular American savior. His story is every bit as fantastical and unbelievable as the New Testament, but there is no pretense of historical reality. Yet he’s a symbol of good and right and morality, truth and justice, that actually moves me and means something to me, absurd as that might be.
The story of his nativity is one of the most re-told stories in mass media. Like John Doe he’s also a Depression-era messiah. An immigrant, an orphan raised by solid American citizens, a god who chooses to live as a man and make a better world.  It doesn’t matter one bit that he isn’t real; the message is real, “the idea is still good”, and the metaphor is beautiful and useful and instructive.
Therefore, I would like to propose December 25th as the date Superman’s rocket crashed in Smallville, Kansas.  Why not?  It’s as good a date as any.
