Quick Note

Hey, everyone! I know this isn't my normal account for things like my original books (normally it's @skylersolomonoffical), but I have more followers here.

Questions for people who did ballet

First, let me explain that I have never done ballet, nor do I have a desire to. But, I have a character in a book that I'm working on (won't be out for another few years at least) that does ballet. They are being forced to do it and don't enjoy it, but I do want to hear from everyone who does ballet. You don't have to answer all of the questions, but I do want to know your experience to make the character feel as realistic as I can

Question one:

Exactly how tiring can ballet be? I know that it takes a lot of balance (something I barely have, lol) and concertation. I know that it differs from person to person, but I want to get a gauge how tired they should be

Question two:

What are the more common moves that you do? What are the moves you do the least?

Question three:

What is your favorite move to do? And what is your least favorite move to do?

Question four:

If you have sensitive skin, how does the material feel against your skin?

Question five (final one):

On average, how much makeup do you wear for recitals?

Genuine Question

Hello, writers of Tumblr. I have some questions that I feel are important

First one is for those who have published a book: how do you get it be more successful? I have a book that I published in February that has only had a few sales, about six, and all of them have been friends and family, so in a way, I'm not truly counting those sales

The next one is: how do I establish myself as a nonfanfic writer? I have a personal account that's called @skylersolomonoffifical that is not very popular. Not that I am on this account either, but I have way more here than over there

Finally: I have yet to find a way to keep characters and outlines properly organized that I truly like. I have a way that kinda works right now, but it's really barebone and not really efficient. What kinds of organization techniques that have worked for you that is free?

Hello! After some consideration, I've decided to change the prices for things.

One, the Kindle pricing doesn't change from $5, unless you have Kindle Unlimited, which is free. So that's not changing, don't worry.

Next, the paperback is changing from $15 to $12. It's a small change, but I think it would be a good thing. So if paperback is your thing, go for it!

Then I changed the hardcover from $20 to $15 (I might go a little lower if people tell me I should). If you like hardcovers for books, it's a five dollar difference.

I apologize to people if you ordered a copy before the change. I can't give you the money, but still. I hope it's more affordable for those of you who want a physical copy, but couldn't afford the version you wanted.

Finally, I'm thinking about putting it up on YouTube as an audiobook. The only problem I'm facing, other than lack of a proper microphone, is that I have a really bad stutter, especially when I'm reading. If anyone knows how to help, that would be great!

The Examiner

Secret Identity: James Fitzpatrick

The Examiner has the Gift to control technology. He can use old spare parts to create a complicated machine with a wave of his hand. He calls himself The Examiner (or just Examiner) because he can take apart things and do a deep examine put them back. When he is using his Gift, his eyes glow a bright purple

He joined The Hero Crew two years ago shortly after he became a hero. Tivona. his best friend from school, actually was the one who suggested he join after she failed to stop him from becoming a hero. Doctor Shoelace became his main mentor, and after some time, he began to see her as a mother figure

Examiner can be very bright and bubbly, but also is serious when he needs to be. He is extremely smart and can make things without a blueprint, but his Gift does help with that part

Examiner has curly red hair that he struggles to get in control some of the time. He's very short, standing at about 5'4. But he doesn't care much about how tall he is (after years of struggling to deal with it from getting bullied). He is pale with freckles. Instead of getting a tan, The Examiner burns in the sun. He has brown eyes

He is nineteen-years-old, born on October 7th, 2001. He's not the youngest person in The Hero Crew (that goes to MG). He often is seen as the Crew's goofy brother

Fears: losing his found family, sharks, and needles

Likes: robots, skeletons, and techno music

Allergies: peanuts and cashews

The Examiner is a cishet male, but is a massive ally. He believes that as long as it isn't hurting anyone, people should love who they want and express their gender however they chose

Doctor Shoelace

Secret Identity: Lateefah Strickland

She has a Gift that can heal people. She made it her goal in life to heal people whenever they were sick or hurt. Her Gift has its limits, she can't heal terminal illnesses or regrow missing limbs, but she can help slow down a person's death with a terminal illness. However, there's also a darker side of her Gift. If she ever wants to, Doctor Shoelace can give someone a terminal illness or hurt them pretty badly. However, she rarely does

Doctor Shoelace helped Mikey build The Hero Crew from the ground up as she was one of the first ever members. She followed him from California to Washington to help him establish The Hero Crew outside of California. After his death, she helped Joshua lead the team

She was not very happy at first that a thirteen year old is taking over, but Doctor Shoelace understands that that is what he wanted to do and needed to help him feel closer to his late father. Doctor Shoelace took him and his adoptive sister, Tivona, in so he could have a safe place to stay. She never would replace their mother, but she loved being in their lives as they had become like a niece and a nephew to her

Shoelace has a very kind and gentle personality. She loves to help people and is so proud of her teammates in the strives they've made to help people. However, she is someone who you want to be on her bad side of. She is fiercely loyal and doesn't want anyone to get hurt. If someone she loved gets seriously hurt and she knows who the person is and is able to get ahold of them alone, she'll use her darker side of her Gift

Doctor Shoelace has black and curly hair with colorful streaks in it. She has it styled in an afro. Her eyes are amber and glow blue when she is using her Gift more than to just heal a small wound. She has a very small and light freckles. Her skin is light brown. She loves to dress up and wear bright colors and bright makeup. She is 5'11, 6'0 when she is wearing her shoes

She is thirty-four years old, born on January 5th, 1986. She is the oldest person in The Hero Crew. She had just barely turned fourteen when she joined The Hero Crew twenty years ago. It was very hard for her when Mikey died, but she stayed strong for Joshua and Tivona

Fears: hurting innocent people, sharks, and singing in front of people

Likes: the stars, her friends/family, and the rainbow

Allergies: none

Doctor Shoelace is a transwoman (birth name is David) and straight. She is currently not seeing anyone, but she also isn't looking for anyone. She has no children of her own, but if she ever did, she would adopt over having biological children. People consider Doctor Shoelace as a safe space and an important pillar. She is always there when someone needs to vent or cry or yell

She is like a mother figure to James Fitzpatrick (The Examiner). Doctor Shoelace sees him as her own son and she absolutely adores him. While he is her favorite member of The Hero Crew, she does not treat him as such

Secret identity: Joshua Smith

He has the Gift to control water, breathe underwater, and can turn into a watery mist to travel quickly. His Gift leaves him smelling like the ocean all of the time

His father, Mikey, founded The Hero Crew twenty years ago, shortly after Joshua was born. Mikey moved bases after thirteen years to live in Washington for his wife's new job, but still had an established base in California

When Joshua was thirteen, his parents died in a staged accident from one of Mikey's enemies. He then took over The Hero Crew with Doctor Shoelace at side as his second in command. She is much like an aunt to him as she was close to both of his parents

Joshua has a very stereotypical "Surfer Dudetm" personality. He says dude and like a lot. When he was younger, Joshua wanted to be a painter. He still enjoys painting, but he understands that being a hero comes first. He became a hero because he looked up to Mikey, becoming one at ten

Joshua has blond hair with blue tips, blue eyes, and tan skin with freckles all over. He is 6'3 and generally wears tank tops with stripes, faded blue shorts, and sandals any time of the year

He is twenty years old, born on June 21st, 2000. He is not one of the younger people in The Hero Crew, but was when he first joined. His father taught him for the first two months of his hero career, but Doctor Shoelace took over his training after Mikey died

Fears: failing everyone, dying, and being alone

Likes: painting, music, blue, purple, and seafood

Allergies: Pineapple and cotton

Joshua is a cisgender and heterosexual man, but he did experiment with his gender and his sexuality. Occasionally, Joshua likes to wear dresses and often paints his nails. He's very supportive of the queer, black, POC, disabled (physically and mentally) and homeless communities. He'll offer a safe space for anyone if they need it and proudly claims people as family when they're rejected by their own families

He has an adoptive sister named Tivona Blum, who happens to be Mother Nature, the third in command in The Hero Crew. He adores her very much and would do almost anything to save her

Joshua has killed people by accident for and hates the feeling that it made, hates that it felt freeing. He killed the person who killed his parents in a rage and has regretted it since. He doesn't regret that the villain is gone and can't hurt anyone ever again, but he does regret killing. He believes there was a better way to handle it and he never wants to kill ever again, knowing that if he did, he might not stop and he doesn't want to go down that road. Joshua doesn't shame anti-heroes that kill bad people, but does wish they had found a better way to do so

Like many heroes, Joshua has to deal with the pain of not being able to save everyone. But he tries. He tries to help the homeless by opening homeless shelters in The Hero Crew's name that offers a safe place for anyone who needs it with warm food and clean clothes that helps people find jobs and permanent homes. He visits the elderly and helps cheer them up. He talks to teens about safe sex and how to raise children if they have some or where to find abortions. He fights for rights for everyone and tries to help get free health care for all Americans

While being a hero doesn't pay much, Joshua gets the money he needs from donations and other members who make a large sum of money. He doesn't ask for it, but he doesn't turn it away when someone offers it

Gifts, What Are They?

In this universe, some people have something that is referred to as a Gift, with a capital 'g'.

A person is born with a Gift, it is not something they can get. Genes and genetics have nothing to do with it. A person can come from a relatively Giftless family and have a Gift, like someone can come from a relatively Gifted family and be unGifted.

It's a hard thing to say if someone can get a Gift from a blood transfusion. It's much like blood types where it's preferred to give someone blood (if they need it) with someone who has the same Gift as them, but if they can't find a match exactly, a Gifted person might get an unGifted person's blood or an unGifted person will get a Gifted person's blood. Sometimes they could temporally get that person's Gift, but it is not a lasting thing.

Gifts come in all types. Some people chose to become superheroes with their Gifts (most heroes have Gifts, but not all do), but most Gifted people try to live a normal life. There are some who go to use their Gift for evil or ill intentions.

The Hero Crew

The Hero Crew is an organization much like the Justice League or the Avengers where heroes group up together and save the world. There are several bases around the world, most of them in the USA as it is a USA founded company.

It runs off people's donations and a few of the members are rich by familial bonds or outside jobs, so they help pay for things. They run many charities and support their communities the best they can.

One of the rules that the group has is that every member has to announce their first name to the public. Last names are optional, but most people share them. To keep family and friends safe, The Hero Crew offers safe houses and protection for everyone.

The founder (Michael "Mikey" Smith) died and his son, Joshua Smith (Wave Crasher), took over. With Doctor Shoelace at his side, he expanded the group and helped as many people as he could.

When a member dies, a memorial is put up in their honor in the base that they lived in. A public statement is then made to let people know that the hero had passed away, but doesn't tell people how they died.

Vortex teams up with The Hero Crew in order to save the city from The Crown with the promise that he would not be joining the team after the defeat of The Crown.

Announcement

Hello! I know it's been a while since I've done anything on Tumblr (minus a reblog or two). I've been very focused on school and haven't had a lot of time to post. I've also lost interest in the AUs I have here, so I will probably be abandoning them. I apologize. For now, they'll be in limbo. I might pick them back up eventually.

Another thing. I'm planning on starting to finish writing the AU before I begin posting it. With the queue, I'll be able to automatically post them once a day until the AU is finished.

I'm thinking about taking down the one's I have on that is unfished (which is all of them, lol), should I do that?

Next, I made a new account called Sky Blue (@skylersolomonofficial). It's brand new, but it's for personal things that aren't fandom related. I believe it'll be good for me to have that and build up a following there while I'm saving money to publish my first book. I might even start posting the official art for the book to help marketing, but no actual chapters and stuff.
