She gave a snort, looking almost offended. "Did I say I want your help? The Goddess has a plan for me, and I'm going to wait for her to reveal what it is to me. I don't need your blood. I don't need anyone's blood." She swallowed hard at his comment, her eyes falling away. "I have the beast blood in me. I have a wolf. I have her hearing and her sense of smell and... I just can't touch her. There's a difference."

"You can’t even turn into a wolf." he scoffed, shaking his head. "God, I hate skinwalkers. And no, I’m not helping you. Too many assholes have already tried to become wolves off my blood." he made a disgusted face at the memory. "Listen, kid. Don’t try to threaten me. Don’t try to pull this I’m-a-scary-wolf bullshit. Don’t try to act like you’re something important. You’re just a mundy with no special skills." he snorted at her.

It was quick, it was snappy, and that was okay. Guinevere didn't want to deal with anymore humans. She didn't want to bother them, and she definitely didn't want to be bothered. Mordecai had not been pleased when she had came back and revealed that humans knew about them. She wasn't going to risk his anger again. Not when he could banish her from the pack.

"I'm not telling you anything important. They're my family. You're not gettin' near them."

  Alex sighed as he lit up a cigarette, giving her a rather annoyed look.

       ”Listen, darlin’, I’m not here to bother you or your damn pack. I’m just here to ask for something. I have enough to barter, but what I don’t have is time. So can you please make with the talking before I get annoyed and turn it into a hostage situation.”, the hunter intoned before shaking his head and taking a drag of the cigarette.

As soon as she saw the human, Guinevere was tense. Her entire form tightened, and she lifted her head. Her lips curved upwards, to bare her teeth in a snarl.

"None of your concern," she said, tightening her grip on her bag. She had just gotten off from work, and this really wasn't wasn't what she had wanted to leave to. "Leave me alone."

As soon as she saw the weapon, Guinevere froze. Her eyes locked onto the gun, and she drew in a quick, sharp breath. She could feel the speed of her heartbeat increasing almost rapidly. Her grip around the pup tightened. By all rights, she looked more like a rabbit ready to bolt than a wolf ready to defend her young. No. No, she was not going to let him take her little one from her. She wasn't going to let anyone take the baby from her.

That was what humans did, right? They stole, and they killed, and they destroyed. 

"You stay the fuck away from me," Guinevere said a growl edging into her voice. Her lips parted, lifted into a dangerous snarl. Not that she really had anything to back up her words with. She didn't have claws. She only barely had teeth. "You're not getting near me or my pack. And you're not getting near her." 

The search was quite short which James was quite alright with — he didn’t quite have as much time as he’d like, but what did bother him was the convergence of both lupine forms on an alarmingly close proximity, though his keen eyes hardly could notice anything out of sorts. It didn’t quite make sense, not at the moment of the chase. 

  But… when Guin was finally reunited with the pup and he took in every single movement she displayed — from the great loosening of her tense muscles to the seemingly familial affection the young woman seemed to share with the pup, his thoughts began to formulate a hypothesis he didn’t quite want to entertain. If he looked past his guard lowering simply because she seemed like a very nice woman, it was quite obvious that all signs pointed to those two being the lupine lifeforms on his scanner. He couldn’t afford to take a chance that this was all an act and he silently drew his sidearm, adjusting the setting to coat the bullets in silver when fired.He swallowed before speaking, 

       ”I’m glad you found her, Guin, I truly am. Now please turn to me with the pup in your arms and don’t make any sudden movements. I’m an agent of the DEHA and… to my knowledge we don’t have any information on you or your pack.”, the man spoke with a heavy tone as he covered both with his gun, “Please do not attempt anything — I’d just like to talk. I’m sorry it has to be this way but I can’t take any chances.”

Guinevere froze as soon as she realized the other woman was not only talking to her, had not only noticed er, but also knew who she was. What she was. 

This was not going to be good.

"I... No. No, of course not. I'm simply trying to..." She was having a hard time forming words.Was it fear? Probably. "Go home. I'm trying to go home."

"Where do you think you’re going, little wolf.” Mary said with a small growl in her throat. She had heard of the female in front of her, watched her, even. The wolf who couldn’t change into a wolf.

After the long silence of the other female, Mary spoke. "What’s wrong, Wolfie? Cat got your tongue?”

She flinched away from him, but bared her own teeth in return. She was still a wolf. She still had the Goddess in her. No one would talk to her like that. Well, her Pack could talk to her like that, but that was simply because of her position as a bottom-of-the-food-chain wolf. "Just because I can't touch the wolf doesn't mean she isn't still in me. She's just... caged. I'll find a way to free her one day."

"What’s not your fault, pup?" he asked, reigning in his own temper. Skinwalkers always pushed it out of him. Kiddo thought he was just a were with a bad attitude and a big dick? So be it. He held them in a strange position in his mind, somewhere between mundies and fables. They weren’t real fables, but he was in no danger of them revealing the community, so… "You can’t change?" he asked her, not sure if she meant as a person or her physical shape. "Why even call yourself a ‘wolf, then?" he showed his sharp teeth in a brief growl.
