Blocking People

Holy shit, why does no-one talk about this feature more. I recently learned how to block tags (and other accounts). I am so happy to be looking through my tags, especially my sonic one, without having to come across some especially hateful shit.

Now don't get me wrong, criticism is important, and no-one is free from it. However, the way some people give and show that criticism feels less like criticism, and more batshit insane.

Seriously, it's like some people on this site have not been taught to be polite when criticizing something. When criticizing a work, you should list both the positives and the negatives.

This is because the positives says what doesn't need work, while the negatives say what does need work.

Just wanted to celebrate Valessa a bit. I was playing through her heart-to-hearts and was inspired to create a character in my story.

And on that note, Valessa’s romance is my third favorite in this game, after Fortaime and Damek. I would talk more about what I like about her character and characterization, but I’m really bad at that.

Great at vocalizing criticism, but terrible with vocalizing praise. Regardless, Valessa’s great and so is the story.

Just wanted to show my appreciation of Mune: Guardian of the Moon. I don’t know why, but this film is one that always seems to both make me happy and helps inspire my own writings.

I disagree on that. I’ve written stories before and they have been interpreted in some truly wild and baffling ways. This joke points out a very real and very true nonsense and pretentiousness that exists in the critical analysis community.

Do you ever just see a character in a story and immediately want to experience the rest of it because of that character?

I ask that because it happened to me yesterday in Omensight. Having now finished the game, I can safely say that I am including Ratika into the list of my favorite characters.

Tonight's Plans

Sonic Prime is in 1 to 5 hours (not sure when Netflix updates where I live). Gonna finish up my final 2 papers than probably go to sleep watching it.

I think part of that is that we're such a minuscule fandom that we don't have enough people to fill up a school auditorium. Oftentimes what creates fandom drama is the clique-ness formed when larger groups sub divide into smaller ones. Their also tend to be certain leaders in thought amongst those subgroups. We are not large enough to have subgroups and have no real guiding leaders in thought as a result.

Let me just tell you how much I'm glad this (miniscule) fandom is dramaless and wholesome as fuck. You guys are what keeps this community and this blog alive today, I'm not the best when it comes to communication but just know that I'm thankful for every one of you. Keep creating! Love you all!
