being a self-taught artist with no formal training is having done art seriously since you were a young teenager and only finding out that you’re supposed to do warm up sketches every time you’re about to work on serious art when you’re fuckin twenty-five

Is there a website to look up models or people  to draw, with gender, ethnicity, and age filters. (if possible)?

 For example if a wanted to make a cartoon character realistic and use a real person for reference or to edit the photo to look like them?

I’ve been just googling  white 20s male, black female 40s etc. (can’t find any good references for kids either)  and been sifting through the results.

apparently ppl don’t know about waifu2x??? despite its… concerning name it’s literally the most convenient website i’ve ever come across as an artist

it allows you to resize artwork without it becoming pixellated. this is a MASSIVE help if you, for example, make lineart too small or something. it works best with things that 1. have no textures 2. have smooth lines 3. have cel shading, but it still works really damn well for things that don’t fit that profile

What people think why i became a bookbinder: Oh she wants to explore her artistic horizon with those pretty leather bound books of hers. She even gives them out as gifts to her friends. It most likely helps her with anxiety or maybe she just wanted a more special costume made notebook.

Why I actually became a bookbinder: I just illegally downloaded and printed out several of my favourite fanfics and books and started binding them into books cuz I love reading them but looking at screens for too long gives me headaches.

another art tutorial post :) this time it’s for rainbow effects

This is going to sound completely wacko, but I had a dream last night that I made you all a tutorial on drawing Aziraphale’s face. Like a lucid dream and I was aware of drawing every line. So I decided to make it reality! I hope it is helpful!

I start with a blank head shape where I map out the placement. I just drew one but for reference, if you’re using a poser model you can do the same, over the model’s face, then do the same steps.

Next I start the outer contour of the face

Now I start the inner contouring

Then I start adding details! :) I meant to say TOP lid is fairly droopy, sorry!

I get rid of my guidelines and add more detail

Now he needs hair!

Let’s give it that coif!

And a finishing touch!

I hope that was helpful! Hopefully he’ll visit me in my dreams tonight and we can just eat crepes, I’m tired now 😂
