Wanted to draw them dressed as a knight and a princess, so I chose my FAVOURITE loyal and protective wilderness roaming knight and scholarly princess who has trouble using her magical abilities duo. And I sat there giggling to myself as I drew prosthetic hylian ears for Kaisa and normal ones for Johanna because she doesn’t need them :]

Given what we now know about the characters, I actually much prefer the dynamic presented in @phopollo’s take on a sketchbook fake dating AU (which you should ABSOLUTELY check out btw!!). But still, I couldn’t resist the opportunity to redraw this funny little AU from a few years back. It’s fun to see the improvment!

Aaand that brings this year’s Sketchbook Week to an end. Thank you to everyone who participated, whether you did every prompt, dropped in for the odd day, or supported and uplifted each-others’ work. You all helped to make this an amazing event to celebrate this ship together.

As mods we try to be impartial on here and stick to what the blog is for, but we really truly enjoyed seeing everything you all created for this event. It was wonderful seeing both familiar faces and some newcomers this time around! For a small fandom event in an already small fandom, we were really blown away by everyone’s contributions, the time you gave and the amazing talents you shared. Thank you all so much for making this Sketchbook Week not only a success, but so much fun for everyone involved. We hope you all enjoyed it as much as we did :D

For @sketchbookweek Day 6 - Halloween and Day 7 - Alternative Universe

To be honest, this isn't an entry I'm very happy to be making, and that's because I'd been hoping to share a new installment of my Hospital AU for this day. Alas, a combination of lack of time, disposition, and my particular perfectionism towards this 'verse since it means soooo much to me prevented me from writing the fic I wanted to. But don't think you're safe just yet; when you least expect it, I'm taking you all back to the hospital with me 🚑🚑🚑

Oh and please don't look too hard at the goofy ass kids in the paed ward. This ain't about them

After a year since my last one, I've made a brand new Sketchbook Ship song for @sketchbookweek Day 7: Free Day!! The perspective this time is meant to be both Johanna and Kaisa conversing (or should I say dueting) with each other <33

This was one of my more difficult songs to compose and sing, made all the more so that I had to work with limited equipment than usual. But things turned out pretty good as I carried along in spite of the difficulties and ended up with something even more lofi-ish, and I'm just really hoping everyone enjoys listening to this new song <33

(and similar to last year, I took A LOT of inspiration from fics for this song, namely @the-hilda-librarians-wife's fic Birds of different feathers (can still flock together) (who also made the screenshot edit I used for the cover art) and my partner @wildflowers-of-trolberg's fic Something Reckless <33)

@sketchbookweek Day 7: Free Day/AU

It’s been kind of a rough week IRL, so I’m really thankful for all the great Sketchbook art/stories I’ve seen this week ^_^

So, I humbly present my take on a childhood friends AU in which Johanna keeps her memories and becomes somewhat of a local legend.

“They say you can hear a child weeping in the woods of Tofoten. Some say it’s a ghost, taken from the world too soon, other a fairy child, left behind by her kin,”

And thus a young Kaisa and Bell Keeper venture into the woods to investigate, only to find a wild half fairy, and Kaisa is instantly smitten.

Side note: the bottom image was originally meant to be Johanna, Kaisa, Bell Keeper, and Gerda only, but I was playing off the trans headcanons I’ve seen some people write for BK and tried for a look before he came out, but I ended up loving the design too much to erase, so now he has a twin sister XD

This song was SO much fun to write. It's inspired by this post and it's either post-getting together: “look at my strong badass wife” or pre-getting together: “haha what I swear this is a totally normal thing to do for someone you feel a normal way about”. Hope y'all like it!
