I think cis people should also be their gender of choice. Like, if you're a man, you should get to really enjoy being a man- have fun with it! If you're a woman, take the parts of womanhood that really deeply make you happy. If being a little androgynous or ambiguous or hidden is the part that really makes you happy, you don't have to be trans for that. If you wanna lean really hard into being femme or masc- do it! You have one life in your body, do what makes you happy. Ditch the stuff you don't like.
My sinister queer agenda is I think that everyone should be the gender they like in the way they like it.

"victims should be able to kill their abusers"
But do you think victims should be able to have affordable housing? Should they have have access to well funded shelters that actually have spaces available? To be able to access social welfare without needing to disclose traumatic events? To not get caught up in vicious cycles of discrimination and poverty which make people vulnerable to abuse in the first place?
As a feminist and an abolitionist the mindset that you can neatly divide the world into victims and abusers, that sexual violence is a personal and moral failing, that you just need to get the bad guys, rather than a structural feature of the patriarchy, is something I oppose. The obsession with punishment and revenge will lead to the expansion of prisons when victims need support and care instead.
I'd highly recommend reading Sisters Uncut Feministo for a short read or Feminism Interrupted by Lola Olufemi for a longer one

One of my favourite questions for figuring out a character’s motivations is which qualities they most fear being assigned to them. Are they afraid (consciously or unconsciously) of being seen as stupid? Ungrateful? Weak? Incompetent? Lazy? Cowardly? Intimidating? Like they actually care? etc.
It’s such a fun way to explore into who they are, why they do what they do, what they don’t do out of fear, and how they might be affected by the events of the story. And I love when characters have negative motivations—trying to avoid something (in this case, being seen a particular way) as much as they’re trying to achieve a goal.

A tip for excellent writing I just learned: Don't introduce a character with their Dramatic Backstory. It makes readers go "oh alright this is the Dramatic Background Story Character" and establishes a baseline of Tragic, either for the story as a whole or this character in particular. With no contrast of light and dark, pure darkness isn't impactful, it just looks like the absence of anything to look at.
If you really want someone's dramatic backstory to hit the audience like a gut punch, let them get to know the character first. That way the dark backstory doesn't come off as a description of who they are, but an explanation to why they are the way they are. Bonus points for connecting it to something that's already been established as a part of the character - what a devastating blow to suddenly put together that hold on, that funny quirky thing that they always do is a fucking trauma response.

idk maybe saying "trans women like HARSH SCARY MUSIC while trans men like SOFT SADBOY MUSIC" is more reductive and transphobic than people intend?

The most frustrating experience as a writer is having a clear vision in your mind of the story you want to tell but being too afraid to put pen to paper for fear of failing to do the story justice. I’m so scared that my actual execution will fail to meet my expectations that I’m paralysed to even start.

literally never underestimate how contagious kindness is. I saw on venmo that my friend had sent someone 5 dollars for coffee because she was having a bad day and I thought that was a cute idea and so I venmo’d a different friend coffee money when she had a huge assignment and now I have a huge assignment and that same friend sent me money for a chai latte. she doesn’t know the friend who taught me to do this but she learned it from me because I learned it from my first friend. like we are all learning from each other all the time and learning how to be kind anyway yeah buy your friends coffee do little favors for them tell them you love them. it’s cute and good
