Still Alive
So. awhile back while browsing Reddit I found the most fantastic game for both Android and iOS devices. The game is called "Stay Alive", some of you might've heard about it.
I guess I'll begin this review by telling you the prices. There's a free version of "Stay Alive" on the Android market, as well as, a paid version that cost ~$2 (probably a little less). Unfortunately, there's no free version of iOS devices, sorry guys. The reason why there's a free version on the Android market, but not the iOS market is because the owner game away ~1,000 free game codes that could be redeemed on the iOS market, but he couldn't do the same. Obviously his solution was to make a free, but limited version of the game available on the Android market.
I'm just going to talk about the free version because I have yet to buy the paid version. The free version of the game is, like I said before, quite limited. You can only play one game mode called "Best Distance". You don't have any levels for the free version and it appears that the level you get put in is random. Moving on, "Stay Alive" also has quite a nice soundtrack, well it's actually only one song, but still, I found the one track to be quite pleasing to my ears. The sounds are also very well made. Over all, the free game is still excellent because it's free. The thing that makes this game so cool to me is that not only is it free, but it's also an epic fast paced arcade game. You can't go wrong with a game where you fly around in a space shit and shoot stuff. ;D
Anyway, I really enjoyed the free version of this game and I have no doubt that I'll also enjoy the paid version. So, I'll be getting the paid version the very instant that I have the sufficient funds.

Minecraft 1.1 Update
Mojang recently released Minecraft 1.1 which adds several new features.
Changlog:
- Bow Enchantments - Golden Apple recipe - New language translations. - Slightly smoothed color transitions between biomes - Reduced brewing time to 20 seconds - Added spawn eggs to creative (the colors of the eggs even look like the mobs) - Added world type options (currently only super-flat and default) - Removed collision box from ladders - Sheep eat grass and regain their wool
A lot of the changes don't really matter to me, but I'll tell you what did matter to me. The first thing is the new world generation type, super flat. I can already tell that this generation type is going to be widely used by creative builders everywhere. It makes things a lot easier because now creative builders don't have to download a flat grass map to build mega structures or simply cope with the annoying world terrain. So, good job on this feature, Mojang.
One of the most notable update is the ability for you to now enchant your bow. That's right, warriors aren't the only people who can have shiny swords anymore. I'm really glad that they added this because I was so angry when I found out that I couldn't enchant my bow. That really is something that should've been added in this first enchantment update. But better late than never. Good job, Mojang.
Quite possibly the best thing about this update is the new biome transition system. I'm not sure if it was just me, but it was pretty annoying to be walking through a taiga forest and then all of a sudden you're in an extreme hills biome. While the Mojang team didn't entirely fix the problem, I think they've improved it quite a bit. So, yeah. Keep working at this, Mojang.
Anyway, guy, those are the three features that mattered to be the most. I think that everything else is pretty cool, but I don't think they're really worth writing about, you know? They're kind of just small things. Nothing truly game changing. So yeah, bye. ;p

I installed a phpbb3 forum.
Basically the forum is for a tactical RPG called Aldervinia, the game I told you guys about the other day; Ancient Measures is now Aldervinia. It was a pain in the ass to install it, but I prevailed. Anyway, this is kind of a short blog post, but I just want to tell you guys to go check out the forum. I'll do my best to add cool features to the forum. Also, I know it's a just a sub domain (I think that's what they're called), but I'm trying to get a co.nr domain as we speak. Bye guys.

My first Minecraft build
I've never really been the best Minecraft architect, but I think I've created something awesome today.
You're probably wondering what I created, so I'll tell you. Basically I created a spleef arena, but it also has a unique twist. Instead of being a normal spleef arena that is free for all, this is a team spleef arena.
At first, I was planning on creating a pretty generic spleef arena, but then I came up with the idea for a team based spleef arena. Here's how it will work: there will obviously be two teams, each with different skins. For instance, one team may have a red skin and the other team may have a blue skin, this is made to ensure that people know who's on their team in large groups. Whether or not this type of gameplay will be more entertaining then the typical free for all spleef gameplay is up too you, but I think a lot of people can agree that this is a nice twist.
Overall, I had quite a bit of fun building this arena. It may have been boring, but it was pretty fun, overall. You can except more builds from me in the future, good and bad. Until then however, farewell.

My Top Five Favorite Video Games of 2011
1.) Team Fortress 2 - This game can frustrate me so much. But despite all of the frustration that this video game makes me feel, I still like it a lot. Team Fortress 2 is a game that I can always come back to, and at least find myself having even a little bit of fun.
2.) Minecraft - From the very moment I got Minecraft, I have loved it. Sure, there are periods where I can't stand the game, but I always end up coming back to it. I guess one could say that Minecraft and I have sort of a love-hate relationship. I think the best part about Minecraft is that it can apply to three types of people: The adventurers, the architects, and the engineers.
3.) Terraria - At first I thought Terraria would just be a cheap rip off of Minecraft, but that turned out to be quite false. Terraria and Minecraft sort of look similar, but looks can be deceiving. Terraria is simply an RPG game with a cool world generation feature that changes the adventure a little bit every time. Terraria isn't my favorite game, but I've had a lot of fun playing it with my friends, as well as, playing it solo. :D
4.) Elder Scrolls: Skyrim - I haven't gotten too far into this game, but it's obviously very well made and deserves to be in this top five post. So far, I have seen no real problems with the game and it appears to be a solid RPG game. ;D
5.) League of Legends - I actually really suck at this game, but for some reason that doesn't matter. I still really do enjoy League of Legends. It's very well made and it's very challenging for me. Hopefully, in the future I'll become a LoL mlg pro. But I doubt that will happen anytime soon, if ever. :p

Ancient Meaures
Hello there. My name is Carrot and you're reading another one of my 'amazing' blog posts. This blog post is extra special, because I'm going to be writing about a gave that is being developed by a friend of mine that I think more people should know about. Before I go any further, here's the link to this blog: http://sirdugs.tumblr.com/
Where to start, oh I know, let's start off with what exactly Ancient Measures is. Ancient Measures is a tactical combat role-playing game, which basically translate to a Final Fantasy Tactics type of game. I'm sure a lot of you already think that this is going to be a epic game, but I'll go a little further for those of you who may not be convinced yet. Ancient Measures also features a very unique and expansive storyline (from what I've heard, at least) that you can read about on the blog that I've linked you to earlier. Anyway, while gameplay is a huge part of a game, there are other things that can make a game awesome. One being the soundtrack, and so far, Ancient Measures has a stunning soundtrack. The music is being created by two very talented artists, Timedead and Ryanmusical. Doesn't this sound like a game that you'll want to play? It does to me.
In my opinion, Ancient Measures as a lot of potential, but that doesn't mean that it has everything it needs. Sure, Ancient Measures does have a good programmer and two music artists, but that doesn't mean that the team is complete. That's right. You can help them out. What do they need? They need an animator/animators and artists who are good at drawing. So, if you are capable of doing any of those two tasks, you may have a future in working with the Ancient Measures team. You can contact Sirdugs on tumblr if you want to help. So, what are you waiting for? Start helping.
Happy Gaming,
Sir Carrot

Not Productive
If you haven't heard about the new website called "Not Productive" then continue reading, because it's pretty cool. But if you've already heard about it then you can stop reading, because I don't think you'll find this post at all interesting.
Anyway, "Not Productive" is a new website that is being developed by a group of people, one being 'The Amazing Atheist' that is pretty much going to help out indie video makers on huge sites like YouTube and Blip TV. They aren't going to be another site where people upload videos, though. It'll be foolhardy of them to think that they can compete with YouTube and other video uploading sites (is that what you call them?). Instead, they're going to be featuring cool videos on Youtube and whatever other sites there are on "Not Productive.".
If you ask me, this is a great thing not only for indie video makers, but also for regular people like you and me. "Not Productive" is going to make it a hell of a lot easier to find out about this amazing video makers who just haven't managed to get noticed, yet. This is really something that is very much needed, because right now YouTube is an incredibly popular site which makes it really hard to get passed all of the really popular people. I'm going to be following this closely, and hopefully, this becomes a success. Screw that. I don't want the site to be a success, I want this site to become more than a success. I want it to become as large as YouTube, but not so large to the point that large companies start tampering with it.

Holy mammoth
So, I was playing a little Skyrim earlier today when I was given a quest to collect a mammoth tusk. Now, I've seen people slay mammoths like it was nobodies business on YouTube, so I assumed that I could do the same, even if I was only a level four.
As you may have guessed, my adventure didn't turn out so great. I was actually just heading the Silvermoon (I believe that's what it's called. lol) when I saw a mammoth. I decided, what the heck, let's get this quest over with. Lydia and I pull out our Anicent Nord bows and start firing arrows, at the mammoth. The mammoth begins it's charge, obviously planning to make quick worth of the two foolish adventurers. I attempt to kill the mammoth by shouting, but that wasn't very effective. To make matters worst, a few seconds after the mammoth reaches Lydia and I, a giant enters the scene. I really wasn't as scared of the giant, as I was of the mammoth, but the giant proved to be quite the formidable adversary by launching fifty feet in the area. Many bricks were shat. Luckily, I saved the game to a point before I had provoked the mammoth.
The moral of this blog post is not to mess with mammoths, unless you have good/decent gear.

My experience in Skyrim (so far ;o)
Today, I downloaded Skyrim and had quite the unique experience. Do you want to here about it? You'll probably laugh.
So, the beginning was pretty normal, I just kind of spend through the beginning portion. Once I got out into the epic world of Skyrim, I made the stupid mistake of attacking my company who then proceeded to destroy me. Luckily, it autosaved when I first entered Skyrim, so nothing terrible happened, at this point. Moving along, I proceeded to head to the first town that's called River something, I forget. I talked to the blacksmith and he told me a bunch of information about the storm soldiers, or whatever they're called. So, I left the house and prepared for my journey to Whitehold to tell the Jarl about the dragon when I saw a chicken. I could've resist the opportunity to kill it. Worst idea ever! I was immediately attacked by like four villagers, including the uncle who I had just talked to. I tried to tell them that I was sorry and that I'll buy them a brand new chicken, but that chicken must've been really special because they were steamed. Anyway, I managed to escape them by crossing the river, I could finally start my journey to Whitehold. Of course, when I get to Whitehold the guard immediately attacks and kills me. I wasn't super angry, until I realized that the game autosaved after I had killed the chicken, so I was pretty much screwed as far as the main quest went. What I want to know is how that guard found out about the chicken murder so quickly, it's not like they have cellphones in Skyrim, or do they...? Anyway, please learn from my grave mistake and leave the chickens be, they don't do anything to you. Well, don't murder the innocent chickens if you don't want to have to start all over like me.
Happy Skyriming,
Sir Carrot

So, I tried out mw2.
I didn't actually buy it, I used this game modification called "alteriw mw2" which basically allows you to play mw2. It also adds support for people to run their own mw2 servers (I think) which I think is pretty cool. So, I'm going to kind of give you my thoughts on it in this blog post.
To start, I'm going to say that it's incredibly frustrating and makes me want to punch something. I don't know if I just suck, or if everyone in this game is just a professional gamer. I probably just suck. Another thing that annoys me is kill streak rewards, it doesn't make very much sense to give the good players rewards when they clearly don't need them. I think that the noobs should be getting the bonuses, instead of the professionals. I know that there are death streaks thingies, but those don't help that much.
Overall, I think that mw2 is an okay game, I just won't be playing it by myself. I say I won't be playing it by myself, because I think I'll play it with some of my friends, I don't know, though.
