hey everyone, iâve been thinking really extensively about this and iâve decided iâm going to revamp sira into a different character. iâll be changing her faceclaim and overhauling her backstory, but she will still remain the innkeeper at yeyun inn! thank you for the love youâve shown sira during her stay.

⥠.. from ( x ) & @semmiyh
working at yeyun inn, tucked away in naminsan forest, sira is used to extended hours being spent purely in the presence of herself and only herself. consequently, sheâs picked up a bad habit of speaking out loud to herself and especially so when sheâs trying to work out what she needs to get done for the day. having her tasks verbalized helps her memorize the seemingly endless list that she needs to get done.
when she announces that she needs to go the post office, she hadnât meant for it to be directed to the other woman who was sitting at one of the picnic tables on the edges of the forest and the entrance of town, but she completely understands how the other misunderstood that to be the case.
âoh god, iâm sorry,â sira blurts, embarrassed as she waves her hands. âi was only talking to myself actually. i ordered some new towels online and theyâre apparently at the post office now. i wanted to pick them up right away instead of waiting for the mailman to come by with it.âÂ
âof course, iâd be more than happy to have an extra hand,â she explains in a hurry, âbut i couldnât disturb you during your lunch.â

⥠.. @yhhmbâ & the employee of the month
itâs the final night of the spring equinox festival. the last of siraâs energy has been spent managing the usual influx of activity and customers at yeyun inn and volunteering to clean up the area once the festival officially came to a close. sheâs looking forward to retiring back to her room, maybe grabbing a hot cup of tea if inna was still around and unwinding with one of the books she bought from bimikil the other week.
the lobby is blissfully quiet as she makes her usual nightly rounds: straightening furniture, sweeping the floors, and replenishing the brochure stand. itâs wonderfully routine, her mind settling as second nature kicks in. she makes her way over to the hot springs, intending to just lock up the entrance when she sees a figure in the water. she squints and walks closer to see who it is and finds that itâs hamin. but itâs not just hamin, itâs hamin with his eyes closed. a small spike of worry pushes her out further towards the pool of water. is he just resting his eyes? or is he asleep? or worse... is he passed out?
âhey, hamin, i was just gonna lock up, butââ
she doesnât get to finish her sentence as she sees him nodding off, sliding slowly down until his head is completely submerged in the water. before she knows it, sheâs rushing over with barely enough time to throw off her shoes as she runs into the springs. itâs not particularly deep, but heaving the young man up into a sitting position when heâs basically dead weight is still a struggleâhow is he still knocked out?âand the process has her drenched in water as she fumbles around. he keeps flopping over, so she eventually drags him over to the edge pulling his upper half up onto dry land, his legs still in the water.
at least heâs not drowning now. she leaves him there for a moment to grab some towels from the entrance. she wraps one around herself, another she drops onto haminâs chest, and the other she tucks underneath his head.
she knows the displeasure on her face is apparent without needing to look at her reflection as she grumbles, âoh my god, you are seriously unbelievable.â

most nights, sira appreciates the gentle quiet that surrounds the inn. it never is completely silent: the steady rumbling of the hot springs and the calls of the wildlife in the forest donât allow for it, but it makes for the perfect white noise as she burns the midnight oil, filling in the blank spaces between her thoughts and putting her soul at ease.
well, at least it usually does. tonight, the tranquility does little to ease the thoughts rapidly pacing through her mind, stealing away what otherwise would have been a perfectly restful sleep. and, oh, what a pathetic thing to be keeping her awakeâmemories of her ex and the resentment that still runs through her despite her best efforts to deny that she feels anything about them anymore.
who needs them? i do, i do, i do.
she doesnât realize that sheâs dozing off and slips into a dreamâher vision filled with hazy image of yunhwa flowers at the end of the boowan hiking trail. sunlight filters through, the day is perfect, but thereâs a dread in her heart that weighs her down as she watches the petals fly up into the air without her.
she can barely see their face but she knows itâs them. theyâre wearing that sad smile that sheâs been dreading and she knows whatâs coming.
âiâve gotten an offer for a job... but.â
she starts the way that she remembers that she did. âi know.â sheâs always been one to be be one step ahead, never caught by surprise, life planned out down to the smallest detail. âitâs in the city, isnât it?â
âyes, it is. and iâll have to move out if i accept the offer, but i wasââ
she cuts them off, but the words that come next take her by surprise, and she wants to stop herself from saying them but itâs like sheâs not really in her own body and sheâs watching this exchange from afar. âdonât go,â she says, her voice shaking with raw emotions and she recoils at the sound. âyouâre one of the only ones that i have left. i mean, i just... i have my family and itâs not like i donât have friends here, youâre just... youâre supposed to stay here with me.â
they look at her, tenderness laced in their eyes, the expression that always had her heart skipping a beat. âokay,â they say, reaching for her hand. âiâll stay.â
the sharp feeling of falling startles her awake and she finds herself laying securely in her bed as she last remembers. right, maybe no more soju right before bed then. canât be dealing with that sentimental shit when sheâs literally just trying to sleep.
she gets up and walks out into the lobby, deciding that since sheâs up that she might as well do some housekeeping until she tires herself out enough to sleep without any further disturbances. in no time, sheâs absorbed into dusting and polishing the wood furniture when the sound of her name catches her ear. bewildered that anyone else would be around at this hour, she turns to look at the source and sees a familiar face she had not expected to see for a while, looking as despairing as she currently feels.
âoh, yunhee,â she says, momentarily at a loss for words before simply closing the distance and pulling her into a tight hug. âiâm so sorry.â
she wonders why sheâs here, figures that she would have travelled all the way back to yunhwa to see her sister instead at home but decides itâs not worth it to ask her now. she strokes her hair in gentle, soothing motions, silent as she absorbs the situation. the first big heartbreakâfitting, she thinks to herself, misery love company after all.
âcome on.â she pulls away, taking yunheeâs hand in hers and leading her out of the lobby back towards her room. âtell me everything that happened. i have ice cream and snacks in the fridge. we can stress eat together.â
with @sirayhâ
â for all the joy that is to come for all the things that youâre alive to feel just let the pain remind you hearts can heal. â
a couple of years ago.
â: â â  itâs with tears in her eyes and a void in her chest that, in her frenzy, yunhee buys a bullet train ticket for that same night. a round trip departing within thirty minutes and returning sunday night. it cost her the savings sheâs made in three months, but she didnât care at the moment. all she wanted to do was to leave the place painted with memories of them.
she packs a light bag, not paying much mind to the clothes she was shoving inside for her blurry vision didnât allow her to see further past her nose. the student comes to a halt, however, when her fingers curl around a jacket two sizes too big for her. one that wasnât hers and his scent on it was still ever present. it was in every corner of her room, as if he had made it his own.

yoogeonyhâ:
disturbing @sirayhâ
the sound of a flimsy pamphlet sliding underneath his door is all yoogeon needs to hear to know that the day is starting. and not in a good way. heâs not sure why sira - yeyunâs innkeeper - is so incessant on stuffing brochures about the insipid town into his room, and so early in the mornings too at that. heâs sure that sheâs aware that he doesnât spare as much as a glance at them considering he always tosses them into the trash bin next to the door as soon as he can before leaving for the day or weekend.
that being said, sira was one of the few individuals yoogeon did remember from the older days despite not having interacted with her much. her family pride in running yeyun inn was known throughout the town and taking into account how  much he remembered sira loving the town, it made some sense why she would try advertising the townâs fortes to him. except, he wouldâve expected her to stop with the few brief conversations theyâve had that he really wasnât interested when heâd say, âiâm not interested.â
so at this point in the morning, heâs already forgotten that the sheet of paper in his hand is the brochure she had slipped into his room that very morning as heâs walking into the lobby. in all honesty, he wasnât trying to be petty - besides the fact that he has been a few times when he was fed up with the random pamphlets - when he headed straight to the trashcan by the door to toss it out. thatâs when he spots something - a spider- crawling up the wall and immediately reacts, slapping the brochure flat against the wall.
he takes a glance to make sure the small intruder is dead before turning to drop it into the can. itâs only when he looks up and catches siraâs gaze from behind the desk that he realizes how he looks in that moment. the silence is awkward and thereâs no denying that yoogeon wishes he wouldâve tossed the sheet away in his room instead as he holds her stare.
âthereâs uh⊠a dead spider on itâŠâ yoogeon decides to explain straightforwardly, truly unsure of what reaction heâll incur from the older female.
â
it's not very often that the young people who leave yunhwa actually ever come back. the population has been dwindling for years now. yunhwa is too small, too quaint, too boring, especially when compared to the likes of seoul and busan which constantly seem to be pushing towards the edge of modernity, pulsing with energy and youth. sira understands the appeal, was dazzled by it briefly when she spent the majority of her years in university in busan, but she simply cannot understand how so many people who were born and raised in the flower laced town could despise it so deeply. sure yunhwa has its flaws, but what place doesn't? if only they could see it through her eyes, even if ever so briefly, and just stay for once.Â
of her handful of peers, she had certainly not expected han yoogeon to return. she was almost certain she had fallen asleep right at the front desk and was in the middle of a dream when she saw him walk through the front door of yeyun and inquire about renting a room. she must have been gawking at him that day, manners thrown out the window in her utter bewilderment. she's hit with a sense of deja vu as she gawks at him once more while he's using one of the many brochures she's stuffed into his room to slap something against the lobby wall. he has the decency at least to explain himself, and a tense moment rests between them as she looks for the right words to say.Â
âright," she enunciates, narrowing her eyes at the man before her, âa spider.âÂ
âyou know, it hasn't escaped me that you've been tossing out the brochures i've been... sharing with you since you started living here in yeyun. it seems like you haven't kept a single one of them,â she says matter-of-factly. sheâs not angry, though sheâs acutely aware that the furrow of her brow might indicate otherwise. ânot that i necessarily expected you to, but...âÂ
sira trails off, and she wonders for moment what exactly she was expecting for yoogeon to do with her insistent advertising of the town. she never expected him to change his mind so quickly and so easily... but still, if there was even a slight chance that these brochures held a sight he hadn't seen in his time in yunhwa, then maybe he could come around.Â
âiâm sure you probably donât believe me,â she continues, âbut there are actually funâand newâthings to see and do around here. just because things are slow doesnât mean weâre at a total standstill.â
#yoogeonyh#( interactions. )#this.. didn't look as long when i wrote it#uh pls don't feel pressured to match length lololol#apologies it took so long btw!

hey, with the spring equinox festival event, i thought it'd be fun to open some prompts and plots with sira since sheâs the yeyun inn innkeeper. hereâs a few ideas that iâve come up with. if there are any that youâre interested in, go ahead and reply with which one youâd like. if the one you wanted is taken, feel free to im me and we can plot something similar. and of course, if there are any other ideas you have please let me know. iâm super open to plotting and brainstorming (even though i am very slow, iâm so sorry.)
you got carried away with trying all the yunhwa liquor at the festival and stumbled your way into the inn thinking it was your house. now sira is trying to push the bill onto you but youâre confused as to why you have to pay to sleep in your own house.
sira knows youâre trouble, so sheâs been telling everyone that the inn is haunted in order to keep you from making a mess of the place. unfortunately for her, that does not stop you.
thereâs someone that youâre desperately trying to avoid seeing at the festival, and you run into the inn for refuge. sira agrees reluctantly to hide you in one of the free rooms for the time being.Â
(must be stall or establishment owners) youâre trying to bribe sira into letting you rent out a room at the inn in exchange for the wares youâre selling at the festival. it may or may not be going well.
you somehow passed out in the hot springs and you wake up, wrapped in like five towels, on the floor with a very miffed and soaked sira glaring at you.Â
more to be added...
#( plot calls. )#edit: also i forgot to mention oh god my dms#i'm so sorry i definitely will be getting back to everyone soon#my mind has just been.... really slow

keyuyhâ:
a nod. heâd only caught onto the tail end of their conversation, but itâs enough to get a good idea of what happened - and he recognizes the type. itâs all too familiar (though quite usually heâs the one observing on the other side of things, with his father discussing offers and nudging him to watch closely). âit might not be my place, but if sheâs turned down all of that, do you think the money really matters to her? if money is all you have to offer, it might be better for you to invest your time somewhere else,â he tells them quietly, setting down the bill he had fetched, and he dips his head into a bow. âthank you for coming to yunhwa inn.â
retreating from the table, he turns his gaze towards sira. heâs never heard her sound so firmly annoyed before, but it makes sense - if thereâs anything that heâs realized over the past weeks of working here itâs that sira loves this place with strength. âdoes that happen a lot?â he asks in a worried hush.
she goes to takes a seat at the couch where the teahouse meets the inn, a sigh escaping her the second her back hits the rest. she doubts herself for the briefest moment, wonders if maybe the inn really would be better off commercialized. investors do have the money after all to pour into the placeâmaybe they could finally upgrade every single bed, table, and chair with newer, fancier modelsâadvertise not only to the residents of korea but also to travelers overseas. but would they really put love into it, honor the long, rich history of yeyun and yunhwa? thereâs no chance, not when the only things in their eyes are won signs.
she looks at keyu when he speaks and manages a tired, yet cheeky smile. âyeah, what can i say? this place is pretty damn great,â she says. âmy family were seriously thinking ahead when they built this place here. investors are always saying how ideal it is for business with the hot springs and how close it is to the hiking trail and all.â
âi might not have a lot of money to invest into yeyun, at least not all at once, even though i think it deserves it,â sira continues, a distant almost forlorn glaze in her eyes. âbut well, what was that one phrase you taught me the other day? bu pa man jiu pa ting?â she winces, sure that sheâs butchered the pronunciation to hell and back. âdonât be afraid of growing slowly, only be afraid of standing still. i havenât stopped thinking about it since you told it to me... even though i still canât really say it right.â

âSorry but Iâm new around here, would you mind giving me pointers?â
sira had heard that shin farms would be hiring a new farmhand, though admittedly she expected someone a little more... built than minjung. she wonders briefly if the shin family owes a favor to someone, or maybe they were just that desperate for extra hands around the farmânot that sheâs discounting minjung when theyâve just met, but her petite stature just doesnât seem to suit the farm. even so, hopefully sheâs able to keep up with the workload.
âof course,â she says, flashing her a gentle smile as she walks over to the veritable wall of crates in front of them. âiâm yun sira, the innkeeper of yeyun inn. we usually just order fruits from the farm since we donât really have a full restaurant at the inn. we do have a teahouse though, so we serve some small refreshments on the side.âÂ
she scans the crates and eventually spots the ones marked with ây.i.,â shorthand for yeyun inn. âah, there, those are the ones iâm looking for.â she heaves one of them into her arms, letting out a grunt when the full weight hits her. âthen weâll just load these onto that hand truck i brought over there. iâve already settled the bill earlier. so nowâs just the heavy work.â

⥠.. lady m
"a spinster?â sira splutters indignantly, just about ready to fling her laptop across her room. everyone at one point or another has been subjected to the biting words of lady m, even sira, though itâs been some time since her name has been spoken by the disembodied voiceâthe last being when she inherited yeyun from her parents. she had lived in relative peace (secretly reading lady mâs gossip forum out of morbid curiosity) until today.
âjust because iâm single now doesnât make me a spinster.â sheâs not sure who exactly sheâs trying to convince at this point. âiâm perfectly capable of finding myself a spouse. so what if it hasnât been in my list of goals for the past few years?â
she leans back into her desk chair and just glares at the screen. she simmers silently before her thoughts slow down from frenetic to introspective. âwell,â she mumbles, âshe did say iâm one of the top three major hotties and that i have a youthful feminine glow. i guess thatâs pretty nice.â
boy, have her standards hit rock bottom.

yhkangdae:
often times, when young people returned to yunhwa from the big city, they were dejected. sadden by the lost of their dream, hurt by having to return to the small town of their childhood. but not kangdae. for the first time in years, he felt full. his smile was wide as he spotted his mom at the bus stop, and did not hesitate to hug the older woman. it was good to be back, even if he could hear the whispers of the town gossips not far from them.
but as many things, the man doesnât take it to heart. much like an overgrown puppy, negative thoughts melt from his mind. gossip was of course the foundation of a small town, he knows the old women will coo and offer to bring him sidedishes in a few days.Â
which lead to kangdae lounging flat on his back of the floor of the front room of the farmhouse. any shame or regret he may of felt from leaving the city was gone. instead for the first time in months he feels at ease. his mother and grandmother had left for the market, leaving the man to unpack by himself ( his boxes remained untouched ) he lazily reaches out for one of the sliced pears settled on the coffee table when the door swings open.
ah. no sense of privacy, it really was yunhwa.
â sira nonna,â his voice gets a bit high, confused by the sudden arrival of his slightly out of breath friend, âi see you havenât changed.âÂ
he chuckles, before holding out the slice of pear towards her, an idiotic smile on his lips. â you want one? fresh from our field.âÂ
itâs been a long time since sheâs been inside the shin house properly, only ever speaking to kangdaeâs mother and grandmother around sunjaro street whenever she sees them. sheâs hit with a wave of nostalgia when she steps all the way through the threshold of the door, memories of jetting all around yunhwa while keeping kangdae company as he ran errands going through her mind. she has half a mind to sass him, but honestly, secretly, sheâs a little ecstatic to see him around again.
âi should hope not,â she says, unable to control the grin growing on her face. âi have been trying very hard to keep my youth after all.â
she walks over to him, plucking the pear out of his hands and thanking him as she sits down next to him. âas expected,â she remarks once she takes a bite out of it, âshin farms always has the best produce.âÂ
sira is silent for a long moment, chewing, soaking in the fact that a familiar face, one that sheâd spent so many hours of her adolescence with before, is actually hereâand by the looks of all the boxes littering the roomâhere to stay. she had always thought that kangdae would eventually adjust himself to the city, find himself some rich, too good for a small town spouse who had a thing for buff volleyball players, and never come back again.
she looks at kangdae, just stares for a little, before saying, âso, what the hell are you doing back here? you actually miss being covered in dirt all the time or something?â
#yhkangdae#( interactions. )#dw it made perfect sense!#hopefully this turned out ok#i kept finding errors as i was editing lol#but i think it's fine now.. probably.

âYou look vaguely familiarâŠâ
one of siraâs strong suits is being savvy with money, but that doesnât mean she doesnât have her vices. bimikil market square is one of her favorite places and biggest enemies; the amount of money sheâs spent there... sheâs never actually kept track in fear of being confronted with the actual number. whoâs to blame her anyways? she could be doing worse, spending all of her money on mass produced items from gigantic corporations. at least here, she can rest easy knowing sheâs lining the pockets of the well deserving, honest working people of yunhwa.Â
which is how she finds herself once again making her way over to mimiâs mini modiste, ready to spend more money on clothes and accessories that she definitely does not need but desperately wants. she greets the stall owner, yunmi, with a wave and laughs good-naturedly at the young womanâs comment.
âaw, come on now,â sira says, âis that any way to treat your biggest customer? iâll have you know i used to babysit you and your sister from time to time back in the day. i wonder if you were even old enough to remember that.â

âItâs been so long since weâve last parted, hm? We have some catching up to do.â
it was originally unintentional, but one way or another sira had become an older sister figure for many of the kids in town. it makes sense: she's one of the few people of her generation who actually ended up sticking around, most having fled the minute they had a college degree under the belts. she never minded the role. it's refreshing actually, feeling looked up to and responsible, especially since she doesn't have any blood related siblings of her own. yunhee is no exception to this. sira always adored the girl and her sibling, for reasons more than just their remarkability as twins. she has a spark in her that sira hopes never goes out.
but when she hears the mumblings around town about yunheeâs injury and sees her coming into the inn with a walking boot and crutches under her arms, she worries. she worries that yunhee, like so many others who return, have come to resent yunhwa, once sailing through open seas, wide and promising, but suddenly anchored down and trapped into one spot.Â
she wants to tell them that anchors are what keep ships safe out in the oceanâthey keep them from drifting away out into dangerous waters, give them a moment to breathe and recollect until theyâre ready to make their way, but she knows that these words wonât reach them yet, not until theyâve gotten the jitters out of their bones and the anger from their veins.
âso it has. it feels just like yesterday we were sobbing over bad romcoms and ice cream,â sira says instead. âi donât have any ice cream now but kangdae just delivered a fresh batch of persimmons. why donât you head to my room and iâll peel some for us to eat?â

oh my, hi everyone. there's so many new members and i can't wait to get around to plotting with you all. i'm still taking memes from the ice breakers starters if you would like to send some in to yunhwaâs #1 fan and owner of yeyun inn, yun sira, to get the ball rolling. sheâs been around yunhwa all her life so we can assume pre-established relationships if your muse has been around a while too. iâve got a few memes and replies to catch up on which iâll be working on for the next few hours. feel free to drop by my ims too because iâm always open for plotting.
