Okay, so maybe this pregnancy preparation book thing was a little cute.. But Bonnie closed it and tucked it into her bag, sitting in the pack and simply enjoying the quiet night for a moment longer.
Anything to drown out the buzz of her cell going off.
Sheila seemed like a good name for her daughter. She didn't know any good boy names, though.
#noxastarter#v:welcome surprises#basics: bonnie is an expectant single mother; has been living in New Hampshire for a few years now

A quiet laugh and Bonnie drew back. Yes, she felt guilty at waking her friend--something so few were called by her now--but there were reasons for doing this. Reasons why she had waited and wanted to be sure, be ready. Be a lot of things, but scared would always be part of them. Frightened that she wouldn't be enough, that following Alex into the kitchen as she was now, it would stop. But.. But Alex was good, always had been to Bonnie. Patient and kind, like the new version of Grams, yet more of a sister than even that. Alex was family in Bonnie's mind. Plain and simple. So she was honest, leaning her hip on the counter. "Just tea, please." Nerves jangled. "I can't have coffee for a while.."
Alex stumbled back as Bonnie threw her arms around her, a bewildered laugh escaping her as she hugged Bonnie back. “Hey — ” Alex said, breathless from the sudden hug. It took her a moment to regain her breathing and to calm, sensing there was no immediate danger. “I missed you too, doll.” She said, the sleepiness still in her voice. Alex’s brow furrowed at the fact that Bonnie had flown in on such short notice, especially considering how close the states were, but she filed that thought away. The chill from the outside raised goosebumps on Alex’s skin, and she pulled back on a shudder. “Come inside, it’s freezing out here.” She said, rubbing a hand against her arm to create friction. Alex waited until Bonnie had crossed the threshold, closing the door quickly and beginning walking to the kitchen. Long nights at the hospital had made Alex used to being woken up quickly and snapping into action, but she still needed the cup of coffee that cemented her into reality. “Do you want a cup of coffee?” She called over her shoulder, reaching up into the cupboard to grab mugs.

Now that was a tired, welcome face that Bonnie had missed. Few in Mystic Falls were still in the Bennett prodigy's good graces anymore, but that wasn't the point. What was included the sheer fact that Bonnie had missed Alex, beaming brightly when the door opened and surged forward. A quick, warm, loving hug. "Hi!" Yes, just tackle the woman right away. Not like you're not-- "I missed you and heard you were back and few in from Manchester to see you." Which didn't make any sense, considering New Hampshire and Massachusetts were so close. Not the point. "I'm sorry for waking you.. it's just kind of.. important? Not bad. Really good!" She'd had tea before getting here. Had to be careful now.
The sound of a loud knocking echoed throughout the wooden home, startling the women who slept comfortably in her room upstairs. It wasn’t often that Alex came home, especially when she was so close to finishing her residency in Boston. But the holidays always made her nostalgic, and if she could get away for a weekend, she did. The knocking pulled her from sleep, and almost immediately Alex’s heart began to race. During her time in Mystic Falls, she’d learned that being awoken in the middle of the night never boded well. But the days were long past where she feared for her life, having finally learned to channel her magic over the years. Hesitantly standing, Alex snagged her robe from the back of her chair and wrapped it around her shoulders, letting it hang open as she quickly made her way down the stairs. A quick glance through the peephole told her who was on her doorstep, and Alex opened the door with a worried expression on her face. “Bonnie?”

It had been weeks, possibly months since she'd come home last. Not particularly for a reason she was willing to share, but.. well, it was time. At least for a little while. So she approached a door, well aware of how late it was, and knocked, resisted resting her hand over the currently-flat stomach.
Her coven leader had better wake the hell up.

Guilt warred with good sense, anger with hope, sorrow with everything else that had been good for her to feel. Four words, some of them hesitant, many with that tinge. Bonnie took a slow breath and kept her back, shoulders, gaze straight. She had been gone, this was a cirucmstance.
"I've been--" Miserable, angry, stupid, reckless. "--alright. You?"
"Bonnie.." Elena started, unsure of what to say. Relief and fury were at war with one another upon seeing Bonnie again, safe, alive. They’d graduated college together before her best friend had disappeared, without a word. Naturally the brunette had been sick with worry, re-playing every single scenario during the past four years they’d spent together for some trace of where the other woman had gone. But here they were now, an uncomfortable space between them Elena hoped to bridge together soon.
"How’ve…you been?"

"Do you need something?"
It's been a very long five years. Graduating college, that was fine. Until she had spent a year completely off the radar. It was a vanishing act she was hoping to repeat very, very soon.
Getting rid of the darkness inside her was a long process, and being back.. here wasn't going to help.

It's not like we're not coming back, goof.
I think I'm ready to go...
But I think there are some people I still need to say goodbye to first.

Oh, it cracks the top three on the cheer list, along with the dentist and anywhere Klaus has lingered by.
Fine. What, you don’t find the cemetery cheerful? But yeah, we can move. I’m done, anyway.

Well, hang on. How crazed is the slightly crazed look?
Coffee.. coffee..
#lucy#chat#ignore the grayscale bit#this may seem like a silly question but do they know each other or is this stranger banter?

Ew!
Poor Tommy.. I feel so bad for him. He's trying but..
Coffee.. coffee..
You’d think. But if you ask me, I think the leader of the coffee addiction club is trying to create a necklace out of all the teeth that have been lost. He just looks like the type. Spot on, it was Tommy again. He should really just drink coffee out of a straw to stop the whole dropping the cup problem.
