the point of art is not to be great but to make it transparently obvious that there is something wrong with you

"Was this the face that launched a thousand ships, and burned the topless towers of Ilium?" - Marlowe
Helen standing at the wall of Troy looking out at the camps of the Greek. The pattern of the dress depicts a fight scene inspired by black figure pottery

i should have been born a flamboyant aesthete fag in the early 20th century so i could go to audacious parties and write mediocre poetry and die of alcohol poisoning at 32 without having contributed anything to society except serving cunt in a fur coat and semiregular emotional breakdowns

The Serpent
Woman
Cold blue burning magenta
A rest heavy like lead, like icy shores
Rushing, writhing, grasping, curling
Some believe that the world is circled
By a giant snake eating his own tail-
The edge of the universe,
The edge of knowing,
The edge of water.
There is green and teal and white
Dappled light on foam, on fur, on skin.
Silver eyes like the shimmer of metal,
The sheen of insect wings
Spirals are a sacred symbol of the soul,
The turn of the gaze,
the swirl of a snails shell.
She.

Baking Bread
I'm very tired
But I want to make.
I will bake honeycakes
In the shape of deer
What do I need?
Sesame seeds, flour, eggs.
To cut them and shape them
I reckon the sharp knife will do.
When I go outside tonight I will find some stones
To knock her down-
Who?
You know, my wife the moon.
I need her light, and some stars too
If I want the deer to taste sweet--
I probably need sugar.

Hazel sighs in a harsh wind
It's branches shift against the unruly bramble,
And flowers curl inward to protect themselves.
In the distance a boat sways on the open sea,
The dark red vision of him heaving seaweed
onto the salty deck is nestled
Under a blooming sky--
Horizon bowed like a spoon tucking away the sun.
