I'm so confused by the physics of skateboard jumps (on flat surfaces). Like. All the explanations say pushing down on the kick tail pushes the rest of the board up. But like. That's not how physics works. It's one object. I think th actual explanation is that pushing the kick tail *angles* the board up, and then sideways friction pulls the board up when you lift your legs. So you must also be moving your legs sideways, relative to the board? So I think maybe your sideway motion is essential.
