realized a bit too late that i got the scale mail wrong but i'll probably fix it later, maybe even save the layers of the outfit separately!! the colors look really good!
i also made a bunch of storyboard thumbnails on paper, too, just wish i knew how to color reel them properly ;-;

It was close. Too close, but not close enough. A good kind of too close. Unfamiliar, warm…safe… Despite everything, being Jackson Overland again wasn’t all bad.

The Lights of Avalon
The Legend of King Arthur is Jackson Overland’s favourite fairytale to tell the children in his village—and he wishes it had stayed just that. But Jack’s world is changed forever when he is deemed worthy of the Legendary Sword Excalibur, should he choose to accept it. Darkness threatens the land, and its people will need a hero. And although Excalibur’s powers are great, so too is the cost of wielding it—so much so that Jack would rather become a traveling bard who spends his days running as far away as possible. Little does he know, on the road to avoiding his destiny, Jack will only meet it—or rather, him.
WOOOO hi everyone, long time no see! I’m super stoked to say that I’ve been writing a Hijack Arthuriana AU and the first two chapters are up now! This is the prologue comic!
Special thanks to @jjackfrost for beta-ing and @twiafom for clowning! This wouldn't have been possible without you guys cheering me on the whole way!
The link’s in the title or you can click over here!
I hope you guys have as much fun reading it as I am writing it! More to come!

I really don’t care if there was a lot of liberties taken here, this is amazing! Thank you for the wonderful art and I’m glad you liked Soul of a Druid.
Acabo de leer “Soul of a Druid” de @silverlysilence . y este dibujo de jack lo hice solo para plasmar la imagen mental que yo tenia. Efectivamente, me tomé muchas libertades XD. Ya quiero librarme de la universidad para leer las otras historias y al fin dibujar algo de esta ship

I see your hijack Atlantis!AUs with nerd-scientist Hiccup and exotic-silver-haired-atlantian Jack, and I love them, but. Wouldn’t the dynamic fit better if you flipped it? Consider;
Jack as the lonely, sweet guy who has never been accepted or taken seriously. Who doesn’t really belong anywhere, and is brought in to hover uncomfortably on the edges of a tight-knit group because a mostly absent boss says he’s useful. Who finds both self-confidence and a home of his own through the friendship and acceptance of people entirely removed from him by culture and time itself.
Hiccup as the terrifyingly competent, casually badass heir to a kingdom mired in traditions that he is actively trying to work around for the betterment of his home. Who has to step up as a full-fledged leader eventually, and is able to lead his people to a brighter future because he had the courage to say ‘no, the old ways are flawed and we need to try something new’.
Hiccup as the beloved visionary and warrior-ruler, with Jack as his gentler partner smoothing his way with powerful knowledge that literally no one else could have.
I’m just sayin’.

This is amazing. I love Jack's expression and Heather's glare.
“You heard Johann, Astrid. This is our last chance. Tell them,” Heather, finally taking notice of the blonde situated in the Clubhouse’s doorway, made a bid to win the group at the table over with the help of the other shieldmaiden’s backing.
The others swiveled around and looked towards the de facto representative of Berk’s Guard for direction with their current leader away. “Well… Look, Heather—”
“You too?” the Razorwhip rider snapped sensing Astrid’s hesitation before she could voice her own opinion. “Just forget it. All that stuff about trust and having my back, I guess that was just talk.”
“Oh, man! Awkward,” Snotlout failed to whisper under his breath, eyes darting back and forth between the two shieldmaidens.
“What’s awkward?” Jackson asked coming around the corner and looking around the gathered group, a hint of sadness flickering across his face. “And since when was there a meeting? No one told me about it.”
“That’s because you haven’t been around,” Ruffnut pointed out, attempting to wrestle her way out from under her brother.
“Yeah, not around,” Tuffnut nodded, not even winded as he kept his purchase, sitting on top of his sister’s back. The twins didn’t even realize they had effectively warded off Jackson’s hurt feelings at being left out of their conversation. “Where have you been?”
The brunet gave a halfhearted smile and shrugged his shoulders. “Around.” Looking around at the serious faces, he looked to Snotlout for an answer. “So, what’s going on, what’s this meeting about?”
“Heather wants to go after Dagur since Trader Johann gave her some information on where he’s gonna be today. The guy’s got someone willing to sell him better longboats with dragon-proof winches and chains, but after the sale, Bam! Dagur’s in the wind again. Astrid told Heather we’d have her back, but that was back before Hiccup left for Berk and now there are some doubts on whether we should go or not.”
The Druid froze; then his fingers twitched, messing with the dragon scale attached to his staff. “Well, I don’t see a problem. Go out there, make sure Dagur doesn’t get the better boats—sink them if you must—and, hopefully, capture him. We can give him back to the Outcasts and let Alvin deal with him. Let Dagur rot there, much better than anywhere near us. It’s the right thing to do. It’s what Hiccup would do; he wouldn’t allow anyone to face Dagur alone. Not again.”
The group nodded along in total agreement.
“You’re right,” turning to Heather, the Deadly Nadder rider gave the girl a weak grin as an apology. “We’re with you.”
“You can thank me,” Snotlout grinned, wiggling his eyebrows at Heather while giving Jackson a nudge to the side.
“Yes, thank him,” the Druid rolled his eyes, only for them to land on the map spread across the table. Eying the drawing, a glint passed through amber orbs before he strolled forward and plucked the map off the surface. “And since you know where Dagur is, I’ll be keeping this so when Hiccup gets back, we’ll be able to find you. I’d suggest, if you want to get to Dagur before it’s too late, you get in gear and get going.”
“Right,” the other members of Berk’s Dragon Training Academy agreed, even the twins who’d stopped brawling to listen to Jackson, much to Heather’s surprise.

The fandom may be dead, but the Big Four was and probably will forever be my favorite crossover. There was just such a good balance between the characters in terms of design and personality. Sure, the timelines never lined up completely in canon, but it was fun imagining all the adventures these four could get into together. I have no context for why they are discussing battle plans, but I’m sure there are plenty of fanfics this could fit into. The designs are from a SUPER old drawing I did back when the fandom was still active (with a few minor alterations). Gosh, I drew that 6 years ago… maybe I should do a side-by-side comparison. Jack makes the rest of the riders except Hiccup speak in stan twitter language and by the end of the night, Hiccup is convinced he's died and gone to hell because Heather did NOT just tell him to "spill that tea sis" with a completely straight face. He did not.
Hiccup: Anyone know what the weather's supposed to be like today?
Astrid, looking at him dead in the eye as she twirls her axe: It's finna be poppin boo. Sister Sun snapped!
Hiccup:
Hiccup: You know, sometimes I really do wish I'd just died back then with the Red Death.
