WHAT IS REAL?
Ever so often we say things we don’t want to, or rather things that we don’t mean to, but we say it anyway. why? what is it that drives us to such an extent that we are willing to throw away something special that we have with someone? Be it a friend you’ve known for ages or a stranger u have been talking to online - what the world calls an internet friend. well, are they ur friends? Are they who they say they are or are they like just another person - a sucker for a good story just waiting for the climax, imaging themselves in your shoes while u go on narrating. Even then are they really listening to what you have to say or are they just playing a real-life virtual reality game where they are a part of a storyline, your storyline which then they get to change in their mind - what often comes out to you as suggestions on their part. And above all this .. what are you doing? Trusting some random person with something so personal to you n then going on social media posting threads about the so-called ‘trust issues’ in today’s times. Well well, that’s what everyone believes, isn’t it? as do you. But what if your subconscious is smarter than you. How do you know that every time you think you are narrating the same story to another person, you are not changing small details here and there, to then eventually believing that it is all true? THAT WAS THE REAL STORY.
This truly is a new way to look at the word mind games, isn’t it?
Well in most cases, this is how it all plays out. our brain unlike a computer doesn’t store memories in registers . it reads everything in terms of emotions and you access different parts of your brains when u are taken back to experiencing those emotions; be it in real-time or even when you are reminiscing an incident of the past.
Well, I’ve said all this, but just like the rest, I’m a sucker for stories too. But it’s a bit different. I’m not sure if I put myself into the narrator’s shoes while listening to their story. It’s more of me just watching them live through and then judging their choices.
Yes, I’m judgemental .while the world out there might look down upon that thought, I see the positive side of it. To me, it is more to do with analysing a person and their behaviour purely based on the choices that they make- and even then I am proven wrong on numerous occasions. Almost all the first impressions you have of people are wrong. They are not who you think they are? But then u just saw them behave a certain way. why would you chose to believe me when I say,” that person is not what he seems to be”.
I may have an answer to that question. Like I mentioned earlier, there is a judgement made every time I meet a new person n almost every single time I enjoy being proved wrong for making that judgement, unless on that rare occasion when I am proven right. Well, then I’m sorry mate. There isn’t a lot that you will have to talk about. But yeah, back to being proven wrong, there is nothing bad about it . it is a timely reminder that I am human n that my brain won’t stop doing stupid things because it needs the drama to keep going. But then I gave it a thought. Why am I being proved wrong over and over and over again? What is it that I am missing?
Well, it’s not ONLY just the world that is trying to play Pretend. It’s you too. and me!!
It’s us all. The reason why people don’t turn out to be the way you think they were is that just like you, they are scared, they are trying to fit in. n they decide to put on a mask. In conjunction with that thought - they have a brain too. which means they have a subconscious to who is playing mind games with them. So then the ultimate question is, WHAT IS REAL?
