I'm so sorry if this is a bothersome question, but are there more ways for me to help people in Palestine without donating? I don't have a way to send money non-physically, and even if I did, I don't have enough cash to be able to donate to all of the people I see. I've been reblogging donation posts from the Palestinian people who have come into my inbox and also the donation posts on my dash. I can't participate in any protests or events because there aren't any I've heard of that are near me, and if there was I don't have a car and my parents probably wouldn't let me go. I don't know what I can do beyond sharing posts online or if that really helps
Hi there, good question.
Sharing the fundraisers does help a lot too. The more attention a campaign gets, the better.
But in terms of what else you can do, there's a ton of things that can be done on an individual level:
Boycotting - you can start with the BDS list and expand as you go.
Educating yourself - this is a massive way you can help the cause, and this can be done in however way you prefer and at your own pace. From books to documentaries, being well informed on the history of the struggle is one of the best things you can do.
Sharing - when you see informative posts, share them. When you see a report from a journalist on the ground in Gaza, circulate it. This way you're educating others while amplifying Palestinian voices.
Writing your government representatives - I usually see templates that people use for emails or calls, whichever is more comfortable or applicable. This is another way of taking an active step to voice your opinion and concern.
Cultural study groups - this can be done in person or even virtually and would include you and a few other members studying an aspect of Palestinian culture together; for example, you can use a Palestinian cookbook to try out some recipes, you can all learn and practice Palestinian stitching (tatreez) or read a book written by a Palestinian and discuss it.
Join a school club - if you're in university/college, you can look up Palestinian rights advocacy groups and join them/attend their activities.
These are some ideas off the top of my head and I hope they can help you out.

As a chronic pain sufferer it’s so so important to read the labels on meds and an astounding amount of people don’t do that. Almost all of them will tell you not to drink alcohol while on that medication. Maximum doses exist for a reason and it’s not just ‘taking this many at once will kill you.’ If the dosage recommended isn’t helping look into a different OTC or prescription med.
If you need to regularly take pain medication alternate which one you use to best prevent a buildup of it that damages your system. It’s good to know which ones work best for *your* different pain levels. Everyone’s different.
I personally regularly take ibuprofen, aspirin, and acetaminophen, but never at the same time and always alternating. Even then it’s good to do research about long term medications that won’t fuck over your body. Trust me you do Not want to suffer liver damage and stomach on top of whatever chronic pain you’re handling.
I know that ibuprofen is like. A meme now (at least in my disability and chronic pain circles) but please remember that OTC pain killers like ibuprofen and acetaminophen are still medications and there can be severe consequences if you take them too often or exceed the recommended doses.
Acetaminophen overdose is known specifically for liver damage and potential liver failure. Ibuprofen overdose can cause stomach ulcers, gastrointestinal distress and bleeding, high blood pressure, heart failure, and strokes.
These medications aren't something to be afraid of, but you need to be aware of how to use them properly and that includes following the recommended dosage closely and not using them more than necessary. Ibuprofen especially should not be taken for more than a few days in a row. Always check reactions to other medications too; one of the most common causes of acetaminophen overdose is people taking acetaminophen with cold or flu medication that also contains it. If you take ibuprofen and acetaminophen together, like many people do, it's incredibly important to limit how often you do that and pay close attention to how much of each you're taking.
If you're using OTC pain killers to handle chronic pain, speak to a doctor if possible about alternatives. If that ISN'T possible, and I am aware it's not for many many people, please just be careful and don't put yourself into liver failure or a stroke to try getting rid of a migraine.

Freddie Mercury is my Cat.
Frustrated because we took Freddie Mercury in for an URI, she got some (rather expensive, fuck) steroids and antibiotics that seemed to fix the problem very quickly, only for one of the others to bring home a cold which eventually got back to her and stayed long after the others were feeling better.
It looks like it evolved into a URI again, just with some additional symptoms. Honestly more pissed that we have to go through this again because watching Freddie sleep in my closet and avoid eating is miserable.

I just spent 2 hours debating and testing and arguing in circles and bitching about library catalogs with two colleagues and I just want to say
AO3’s website is really, really, really impressive, functional and ergonomic and cohesive. the tag system is INCREDIBLE and AMAZINGLY maintained. this is my professional librarian appraisal.
I’ve found 1 library catalog that meets my standards. even the national library of France’s catalog is shitty in comparison to ao3.
praise.
