June 3rd, 2022: Happy Pride Month!

Happy Pride Month!

I don't have much to wear that isn't grey, blue, or black, so I wanted to get something that works better for pride month... So, I made these! I also made another two which are other variations of the Bisexual Pride Flag and the Traditional Gay Pride Flag, but they were for some of my friends who now have them. I am going to be making more bracelets for other pride flags, so once I have a few more, I'll make another post about them.

May 30th, 2022: Trying Bubble Tea for the 1st Time

I tried bubble tea for the first time today! I went to Kung Fu Tea. The people working there were really nice and they got my order done really fast. I got their Milk Tea and it was great. The tapioca pearls were a little weird at first, but I ended up really liking them!

May 29th, 2022: Burke Lake

I went to Burke Lake with my parents and brother. It was about a 4.5 mile walk, which is the longest walk I've gone on it a while. It was kind of hard since it was pretty hot out and I was hungry, but I'm pretty proud of myself for doing it. I got a good photo of the lake itself and I was able to take a photo of a red-winged blackbird!

My MYP Project: The Gabby Petito Case

Alright, this is a bit of a different post compared to normal. I mentioned this project in two other post, My OW/OW2 Update + News post and my New Years post. Like the title suggests, I will be talking about my MYP project. Doing the project is required at my school and it is a project we do through our English class. We pick a topic and create a product for it. Part of the project was to share it with others, so I decided to share it here. Here's the link!

The original topic of my project was going to be COVID-19 misinformation, but I ended up not doing that since I was tired of hearing about COVID-19. Although, I am going to be writing my US Government research paper on misinformation in the media.

The topic I ended up choosing was the Gabby Petito case. If you haven't heard of the Gabby Petito case here is the gist of it: Gabby Petito and her fiancé, Brian Laundrie, were on a trip through the US. They were visiting National and State parks. They traveled together for about two months. Eventually, Petito's family couldn't get in contact with her and Laundrie showed up at his family's house in Florida without Petito. Petito's parents filed her as a missing person, Laundrie became a person of interest, and then Laundrie disappeared. The remains of both Petito and Laundrie were eventually found.

I want to issues a trigger warning here and now. Trigger Warning: Domestic Violence and Death(human remains/murder/suicide). On the timeline page, I talk about domestic violence based on multiple sources including a police report on Aug. 12th and Aug 27th. I end up talking about death(mention of human remains, homicide, and suicide) on Sept. 19th, Sept. 21st, Oct. 12th, Oct. 20th, Oct. 21st, and Nov. 23rd. Nothing is awfully explicit, but if you are not in the right state of mind to read about those subjects, put your mental health first and don't read it!

Due to the project being very research heavy, I chose to make a google site as my product and that's what I'm going to be sharing with you all! Again, you should be able to access it with this link. If you do look at the site, please let me know that you are able to see it. There is also a page about charities I wanted to promote, so if you would want to donate anything, that will be there.

Quick Question: Nail Colors...

So, I wanted to put this in a different post since it isn't Overwatch-related. I just have a question.

The way my county's school system works, I'm not in high school with any of my close friends, so we only really hang out together outside of school. Our winter break is starting soon, so I am going to go get my nails done with a friend of mine. The issue with that is that I have no idea what color I want to get my nails painted and I was wondering if any of you guys do anything like this and have any ideas.

I want to do something Christmas/holiday-related. I was thinking either green and red or white and gold. I don't really want to do anything with blue since that is the color of my nails now, I'll include an image or two of what color I have now for reference; it's a kind of robin egg blue.

So, yeah. Do you guys have any ideas or recommendations for colors or color combinations?

Doing psychology homework just after watching the latest prison lore streams, so I was thinking "if a pick was canonically put through Quackity's teeth and extended to his left eye, there had to have been some brain damage, right?" So instead of doing my homework, I am doing this now.

This is also to stop all the Quackity having a small lil' scar propaganda. It was enough to kill him he has a giant ass scar and brain damage at this point.

Given how the pickaxe would have traveled, it probably entered right at his bottom of his left lower lip, throwing his head back, and causing the pick to exit right above his forehead on the left side.

So, first of all, the bone around his teeth, eye, and other parts of the skull up until the exit would would be shattered, along with a bit of his lower jaw. (Maxilla, possibly zygomatic and mandible, and frontal bones. Possibly also nasal and lacriminal bones, depends on where /exactly/ he got hit.)

Now, for the brain damage. The majority of the damage is in the left frontal lobe, which controls planning, rational thinking, movement, emotions, impulse control, and other higher functions. This is the largest lobe and controls a majority of thinking and basic functions. If removed, placicity would possibly allow other parts of the brain to take over if another is taken out, though a full rewire would need a younger person as neuroplacicity stops at 25 and Quackity is 20-21.

Quackity would not loose all higher function, since his right frontal lobe is still in tact. However, he would have a serious lack of ability in planning, sticking to one idea, concentrating, social interaction, self-control, and serious personality changes. He would have a very hard time with language and motor movements, especially with the right side of his body, since the left side of the brain controls these areas. He would also experience apathy and act as a psychopath would, as people with a damaged frontal lobe experience symptoms of psychopathy.

Im not saying c!Quackity is exhibiting all these symptoms very accurately, but by (what Im assuming) blind guessing, cc!Quackity got it pretty good as to what would happen.

I am downplaying a bit of the severity in this because I dont know how to articulate this into words. Also do not think that I am by any means an expert! This is just a general view by a high school AP Psych student!

TL;DR: Due to the pick being put through c!Quackity's skull, he would experience a lack of higher functions such as planning, self-control, and motor movements (especially with the right side of his body,) with serious personality changes and some symptoms of psychopathy.

The Empires SMP

Alright! One of the YouTube series I've been watching recently is the Empires SMP. The premise of the SMP is that each player gets to claim an area of the seed as their "empire" and from there they build up their bases/villages and form alliances among other things. In my opinion, it is kind of like of KingdomCraft with more roleplay aspects to it.

The main POV's I watch are fWhip's, Scott's, GeminiTay's, LDShadowlady's, and Smallishbean's. With that said, when there is important lore stuff going on, I usually watch all of the POV's just to see everyone's reactions. It is also a kind of new SMP, so there isn't an overwhelming amount of content to watch.

A Syndicate Analysis: Anarchy or Ogliarchy? (And what happens when the "underdogs" are not really that far under)

Written by somebody who actually knows about governments and subversion of media tropes

I think the reason that people often discredit the syndicate for actually being anarchist is because they're too powerful. At least physically. They're faction is a powerhouse who have some of the richest and strongest players. Which means that they are a subversion of the typical extremist trope. I get it you're used to seeing small united groups as the underdogs and virtually powerless when they start and then rising up to the top. But now the narrative is flipped where the underdogs aren't actual underdogs and they can actually make real change if they wanted too. Each member brings in their own power. Techno and Philza can do so much damage physically ie.. Ranboo is the richest person on the server and not necessarily enemies with anyone. And Niki can actually talk to people (trust me she's the most important asset/gen but more on that later). They don't have to fight to be listened too, and that scares people. Scares fans because that is easily corruptable. They are an ultimate force to be reckoned with. So obviously the conclusion is....the Syndicate is not the oppressed but rather the oppressive. But that's bullshit, being powerful does not mean they don't stick with their ideals. They did not form a group to seize power. They did not form a group to enforce rules. And they especially did not form a group to just be called a hastily thrown together government.

I saw someone once call em an oligarch. There's so much wrong with this.

Ogliarchy- 1 : government by the few 2: a government in which a small group exercises control especially for corrupt and selfish purposes

Now before we take a deep dive into what that means and why it's been used incorrectly let's talk about why the Syndicate is Not A Government (cause heavens know some of y'all still think it is.)

I am so tempted to link the video of Techno saying the syndicate was more of a book club than a government and leave it at that.

First let's look at the definition of a government.

Government- The governing body of a nation, state, or community

That is the simplest meaning of a government. A governing body. A political power that rules over an area. Name me one place the Syndicate has political power over. I'll wait.

And it's a good thing you read that second point very well. They're not even obligated to help each other what???? It's almost like they're a group of people who just so happened to have similar ideals and have separate things outside of that and understand that a mutual principle is what is bringing them together and not the desire to rule over others🤔

Yet some of you will call them a government just cause they have physical power with your full chest and a lack of understanding how politics actually work

To paraphrase some quotes of the main man himself, "Not every group of people is a government" and "Do you guys not think that anarchists have friends in real life????" -Techno "I ❤ Authority" Blade

Anyway back to ogliarchy statement. Please read both definitions again

1. By first definition we just established that The Syndicate is not a government so we can cross that out

2. "A government in which a small group exercises control especially for corrupt and selfish purposes." Now this is where the lines of morality blur. You can argue the syndicate was created for selfish purposes or you can argue the opposite. I don't care much for that aspect. But the going back to the manifesto that was written above. They just wanna pursue anarchy and fight against tyranny. That doesn't sound very corrupt to me.

Which group of people are they ruling over again? Where are they're followers? To be a tyrant you MUST be ruling over something. And what are they ruling? The snow???

But yes I know what you mean. They use their "power" to oppress others and get them to listen to them. Here's why it's not tyranny though. Anyone can have their power.

That's it.

That's the hugest reason why it's not tyranny.

To be a tyrant you must have had to take advantage of the system and have access to resources that others don't have so you can rule over them. Tyranny is backed by injustice and unfairness.

For those of y'all who still don't get it- THEY CAN'T BE TYRANTS CAUSE IT'S MINECRAFT AND EVERYONE HAS ACCESS TO THE SAME FUCKING RESOURCES. (Except maybe Dream and co from early days) NONE OF THEM ARE EVEN CODERS SO THEY CAN'T EVEN CREATE THAT ADVANTAGE IF THEY WANTED TOO.

Yes I said it! The only reason why the Syndicate is a powerhouse is because it's basically 3/4 tryhards who grind so much that they have become virtually *indestructible.

*I use the word indestructible very loosely here for lack of a better word. I am not saying these characters are invincible at all

1. There was a whole conversation between Niki and Techno about this in which Techno admitted that he had been given anarchy a bad name because of said violence (Also the Syndicate is not an extension of only Technoblade so do not treat it like it is. Y'all tend to do that a lot)

2. Also they've done 3 streams so far all nonviolent and 1 of them was to throw a birthday party so you can chill

That's valid. Still doesn't make them a government themselves though. Just a group of people who have the power to make changes through sheer force and will. They aren't stopping anyone from creating a government. Just saying that if they see it as oppressive structure they'll do anything in their power to remove it. Once again that is a characters/moral dilemma and I don't care about that right now in this analysis.

Point is the Syndicate is not a government in any shape or form. Not even close. But they are not the underdogs you expect either and they can and will bite. Hard.

TL;DR: The Syndicate has no political power but only physical power that they have fairly worked for. Therefore not a government.

there's always been talk about how c!techno needs to lose a life as a consequence, that the consequences he has suffered aren't enough (feeling as though he had been betrayed by people he trusted, knowing his best friend was being punished on account of him, an attempted execution without a trail that while didn't take a life, did still inflict enough damage to kill him, activating the totem).

and here's the thing: i'm not opposed to techno dying but i don't think he should lose a life.

because it wouldn't feel satisfying for him to be killed as revenge; it's cliché, expected, and would merely continue the cycle of violence that has plagued the server. it's been done. and even then, it wouldn't serve a purpose. there is nothing being killed for revenge could possibly teach techno. he's already learned that violence isn't always the answer, he's already changed his tactics. absolutely nothing would be gained from techno losing a life in that manner.

i think techno should give his life.

all techno's character development, all the positive growth, has been rooted in the people he cares about. in his desire to repay people's kindness to him, to be a better example, not just for his friends, but as a symbol.

so if techno is to die, wouldn't it be more satisfying that it's a willing sacrifice? to show that he is firm in this belief of his, that he will do anything to protect his friends, to repay the kindness he's been given?

technoblade never dies but if he does, it should be because he willingly walks towards it, for his friends, for his ideals, leaping first into danger and death, protesilaus living up to his name.

Was Technoblade’s execution justified? I don’t know

There’s a lot of gray area in that. Yes he did assist in the destruction of Manberg, no he didn’t get a fair trial but I doubt it would have come out in his favor regardless and a trial more than likely would’ve added to the argument rather than solved it.

But yknow what it was?

Fucking stupid

L’manberg had nothing to gain by executing Techno. He wasn’t a threat, he had made no indication that he wanted anything more to do with New L’manberg. Yeah, I guess there was the looming threat that he would come for them because they were a government, but that’s all the more reason to not ever engage with him!

But they had everything to lose by turning him against them! He already helped blow them up once, the guy is an incredibly feared warrior that was more than capable of taking on their measly defenses. Techno wasn’t a member of New L’manberg, he had no reason to feel any moral obligation to receive punishment. All executing Techno did was put New L’manberg in more danger.

And for what? For Quackity, Fundy, and Tubbo to feel like they had gotten the last laugh. To feel like the score was settled. I’m not saying they weren’t justified in wanting some type of comeuppance, but the way they went about it did nothing but endanger themselves and their county. At most, executing Techno might have given the country an ego boost, to feel like they were stronger than The Blade. It wasn’t for the country, no matter how much they may have claimed, the execution was personal. Even if it was successful, it wouldn’t have made him any less of a threat and, in fact, would have only incited him to become aggressive.

Going out of their way to execute Techno was reckless, stupid, and quite frankly pretty goddamn hypocritical given just days prior, they had chastised Tommy for “selfishly endangering the nation” by pissing off Dream.

i've been thinking about the different places on the server... and holy shit.

you have a hole. that's it. it's a hole. there's a sheet of glass over it, and some wreckage around the edges, but it's really just a deep deep hole. sometimes people stare at it sadly. sometime the children go there and hold hands. sometimes, people tell stories about what once stood there. a beautiful nation, a beautiful home. it's gone now. it's just a hole.

there's a casino. it's in a desert. the desert is cold, though, because it's not supposed to be a desert. it's supposed to be a snowy area, but it's not. no one wants to be there. the employees have nowhere else to go. the house always wins. it's too cold.

kinoko kingdom looks beautiful. there's flowers. there's mushrooms. the residents aren't sure where they are. one doesn't remember anything. his hoodie is white. was it always? he's not sure. his husband is trying his best. he doesn't know what's going on. he's tired. the last one looks pale, washed out. he stands in front of the prison, staring at the gateway, sleep walking through town. kinoko looks beautiful, but it smells like rot.

the prison is dark. a monster stalks the corridors. he wasn't always a monster. he used to make pumpkin pie for people. he used to hold his lover tight and sing songs. he built a robot for a child once. now, though, he only knows blood and death. his arms are covered in scars from his own teeth.

the eggpire is the worst. vines made of meat trail from the ceiling. the whole place looks just a little faded. once, these things were human. once, that demon sang songs and danced with his son. once, that cat kissed his boyfriend and laughed. the vines reach out for you as you walk by.

there's other places too. a room with a table to seat the most dangerous people alive. a woman's garden, riddled with tombstones, most of which aren't for humans. a mansion for children. a palace for one person. a half-rebuilt community home.

this server was once something. something it isn't anymore.

no one talks about the past.

it hurts more to admit it didn't always hurt.

I really don't know what to say about that Actvision Blizzard news. But I am very disappointed with them. Harassment and discrimination are serious topics and it's disheartning to know all this.

I don't know how to use my words to describe my mood. So, for now, please keep your eyes attent on every news and be conscious, harassment and discrimination it's a horrible thing. That's it, bye~
