Chapter 8 and 9 Notes from today’s discussion in class.
Siddhartha reaches back the river. He wants to drawn in the water. He had long attended death. He wanted to let the fish and crocodiles eat him. “Closing his eyes he leaned towards death.” He wanted to find peace into him, but he still didn’t find it. He needs to “OM” but nothing changes. He decides to sleep a few hours although they seam years and years. He heard the soft flow of the water. Siddhartha and Govinda got back together. Water from the river going down. He smiled to the river. He never heard a lovely water as the one in the river. The old Siddhartha died in the river but the new one was born from the river. The river represents all his flow. Go this the flow.
He talks to the ferryman and he describe the river in a positive way. The ferryman thinks he is joking when he has no money. The ferryman doesn’t recognise Siddhartha. Siddhartha is able to convince the ferryman that he is a begger.
